Full disclosure of fees. I was told if I returned the truck in less than 24 hours I would get refund for the second day. Returned the truck in 23. Unfortunately 30 min after hours. Got my invoice with a $20 after hours return fee and no credit for the day not used. Early return cost me an extra days rental charge.

The UX for reserving a vehicle and for doing touchless pickup is really bad. I ended up having to go in the store anyway because the touchless pickup asked for my passport (?!?!) or to call two people - who may or may not have picked up the phone. The touchless system also said the van I rented was different than the one I got. I wish I'd known that before doing touchless, I would have gone straight in the store. I also made the same reservation twice when I started this process, because it wasn't clear that the process to reserve had ended. Had to cancel one reservation. Fix your online experience!


I have no negative notes. Staff was diligent and polite. Process was seamless.

The cab was not clean. The inside of the windshield had something on it making it difficult to see, the door jambs were disgusting and one door still had the previous renter's garbage in it. The U Haul rep did apologize and give us a $15 credit on the bill.

The customer service at the pick up location was super helpful and knowledgeable. As well as friendly and courteous. She made the experience easy and quick. Forgot her name sorry


The counter staff were behind plexi partitions but not wearing masks. My staff person came out from behind his partition not wearing a mask, went outside with his mask on, got into the van that I was going to rent without this mask on, drove the van back to me and got out with a mask on and didn't bother to wipe down the van before I got it in. Very disappointed.

Joe was amazing. He was thorough and explained all charges and helped fix my reservation that was changed from the original location to this location. The Hamden crew is always pleasant and willing to help. I have two locations closer to where I work and live that I skip to go to the Hamden location.


We went inside to pick up the van we rented. There were 2 agents behind the counter. They were both very helpful but neither was wearing a mask. The van was great. Much more comfortable than expected.

Inform people 10 foot trucks do not have ramps


Returned trruck same day at 5:15. Could not fo it with my iphone. Location was on and it was saying couldnt find location. Took 1/2 hr Another customer was able to finally help using my friends phone who also has iphone and couldnt locate. Took too long but thanks to the girl for finally getting phone connected
