I wait until 0700 and try to use the uhaul app to pick up my truck and no truck was assigned to my reservation. I call the 24/7 number for uhual and the operator tells me the best I can do is wait until 0900 for the place to open and I could talk to a worker. I wait 3 hours for the people to show up to work... all together a rough experience
DRAVEN SReserved truck with credit card and it was canceled.got a larger truck at 12:10 and we’re told it has to be back at 7 am not 24 hrs later.the inside rear passenger tire had rubber coming off tire, had to keep stopping to make sure it was ok. The was charged extra because truck was returned a little after 10 am

SHAQURIA VThe only reason why I didn't provide five stars for my experience is because of a small issue that arose upon my return which caused my return to take nearly an hour to complete, but this was in no way the fault of the staff on-site. The staff are solely the reason why I'm only docking one star from this experience. The staff were excellent and professional. The manager that assisted me when she learned of my issue knew exactly how to resolve the situation and asked questions, which she likely already knew the answers to, which made it apparent that there were more issues than I initially realized. My issue is that my check-in and pickup with the app did NOT have me take a photo of mileage and fuel during the pickup. Thankfully, I did take a photo when I got into the vehicle and noticed that the tank was far from full. When I returned inside inquired about the situation, I was informed that I needed to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel in it but I hadn't been informed that I should have had to take a photo of the fuel and mileage of the vehicle (I hadn't been informed of this until I returned the vehicle). Since the worker on-site informed me that she hadn't been with U-haul for a very long time and was still in training, I decided to call U-Haul inquiring about my reservation and asking about the fuel level. I had requested a call back from the u-haul app for this. I received the call back within 3-5 minutes which was fine. The person I spoke with provided me with the same information as the lady at the counter so I didn't think there would be any issues later. When I returned to the U-Haul facility, the young man inquired why I didn't return the vehicle with a full tank. When I mentioned that I didn't receive the vehicle with a full tank, he asked if I submitted a photo of the fuel level on the U-Haul app. He was puzzled when I informed him that I didn't have to take any photos of the vehicle, the license plate, the fuel or mileage gauges, no photos at all. Thankfully, I still had the photo I had taken when I picked-up the u-haul and showed it to him. We then went inside and I spoke with two different ladies regarding the issue. After some time, we were able to get that resolved and I didn't incur a penalty. I did however receive a penalty for not returning my shipping blankets. When reserving the vehicle on the app, I didn't get the impression that I was only renting these six blankets. I thought I had purchased them. Thankfully, the manager informed me that I'll be able to return the blankets for a credit tomorrow which is fine with me given that this particular issue is from my lack of experience utilizing U-Hauls, or rentals in general really. This was my first ever experience renting any mover vehicle. I would like to point out again that the on-site staff were EXCELLENT! Seriously 5 STARS and then some for the friendly understanding staff. I don't recall the name but the manager (a lady) that assisted me towards the end to resolve the issue was very patient with me and it was clear that she was super knowledgeable when it came to knowing the short-comings for new customers who hadn't used the U-Haul app. It was apparent, that she sees people make the same mistakes or assumptions when using the reservation feature on the U-haul app. While I'm overall content with my experience, it did take over an hour for me to complete my return because the U-Haul app skipped a pretty critical part of the pickup process which could have cost me easily $100 in additional charges.

Janmichael DAfter Hurricane Ida there was roof damage which led to leaking in my unit. Nobody bothered to notify me that many of my things were ruined from this. I discovered it myself months later. When I asked Darlene about it she said “well that’s not really my job”. In fact, the day I started service she was rude to both me and my grandmother so much so that my grandmother still asks if I ran into “that lady with the nasty attitude.”

But charged me for two days…when I returned the truck at 1:30pm…. Just truly unorganized…the clerks personal issues, they have with one another …trying to get the clerk who started my transaction in trouble and the one who completed my transaction is the problem in this establishment…who was training a new clerk and did not take the time to explain and no walked me to the truck, I was renting…I had to go and find it alone… I am requesting a refund on these failed services because…I could not complete my move…due to not having a dolly…being showed a truck, I would be rent, which was not the truck they gave me truck that did not belong to their establishment…

But, all clean and I appreciated the lock being included with storage unit. We reserved/rented 2 units but only used one. Wish we could be credited for having less than 1 day.

I told two young guys that work there that it rain in my storage all they said was OK, the office never knew till I finally went inside to ask to use the compactor and I would've had to pay a fee knowing I lost everything in my storage

We have rented here a few times and never had this happen.One thing stuck out though was how would a perfect stranger know to pick that unit out of 100 plus storages to break into without specifics? Granted one might say it could have been anyone which is true but that is not flying.The asst manager was very helpful and nice ,she changed the housing when we went in asap.She was in dis belief that they managed to get that far trying to cut through. Which took time ,but you know what ,the person didn't get anything and was fortunate to not get caught and to see another day. That could have been a deadly encounter between a thief and an unsuspecting renter. Advice, cameras for storages shouldn't be running where they can be seen by the public.They should be in a room being monitored by one person,while the building is open for operation. Then assigned to a company after hours.

I really appreciated the bays to pull into and unload so that our stuff doesn’t get wet and we can unload to see everything. I also really appreciated all of the carts. It made the transfer from the truck to the unit a lot better than if there was no carts available. A few complains: the first is that I was called the day before with the staff wanting me to come and put a lock on my unit. I was moving from over 3 hours away, so obviously this wasn’t an option. If you look at my information, you can see that I can’t just ride up and do this. So why stress someone out about something that is unnecessary. As the information said, I wasn’t even going to be moving in until a day later. Another complaint, the alarm was going off constantly as we were there loading the unit. Not sure if it was because our door was open or what. It got to the point at the end where the alarm was going off every 5 minutes. Quite irritating when you’ve been moving a 26 foot long uhaul for two days and unloading it, transferring everything into a storage unit for 6-7 hours. My last complaint is that there is no trash cans. The only option I seen for disposing of any trash or old boxes is paying $8 to use the dumpster. That’s a little insane to me when I’m already paying $150/month for a medium storage unit. It would be nice to have some trash cans around the facility to dispose of the left over trash/boxes/etc. so that you can ensure the truck is cleaned before returning. I did like the idea of having a “donation” spot where you could leave items you didn’t want for others to pick up. That was cool.

I got the text saying it was ready for move in, but once I got to the facility with a load of stuff, I couldn’t get in. The next day I called and the lady was very friendly and helpful. She said I needed to go in to the store and get a card to use to enter the facility. I don’t understand why it said I could access the unit if I really couldn’t. It was very frustrating because I went over there with a load and couldn’t do anything with it.

Had to prop the side door to remove my belongings because the auto doors didn’t work. I assume because it is a security measure. Grateful that my belongings didn’t get destroyed due to Hurricane Ida.

It should be rated by days used for that month and get refunded for the rest of the days I was out for.. I think that would help for uhaul to get more business !! I paid $129,95 for the unit and I was was out on the 3rd day after Uhaul charged my card !!
Chris N | Overall ExperienceI rented a outside unit on Monday decided to move stuff Tuesday I pull up I have a red pad lock so I use the intercom and a male voice seemed confused to what I was asking so I walk to the lobby the young lady says someone will remove the lock not sure why it’s on there it’s an hour later I m still sitting with a red padlock and a trailer full of stuff anyway at $23 an hour my boss hates uhaul I love yall

While waiting to purchase rope a black lady came to pickup her 26 foot truck. She had a confirmation number. All he would tell her is she had no truck nothing else. She asked what about ones on the lot he said they were for other customers. After she left I asked him if it was because she was black he said no it was because she had reserved on line going one way. Uhaul does this all the time. All his trucks were local only. He could have helped her more. I too was going one way in a 26footer. And was soooooo glad I chose Penske or I too would have loaders to pay & no truck. Shame on uhaul

Melissa W | Overall ExperienceI am a victim of Hurricane Ida. As soon as your facility was available to me I contacted your office. You were so kind to me and assisted me with all of my concerns. When room came available you called and helped me to start my journey to reconstruct. Everything was explained and I was walked through the process completely. The store was Immaculate and so well stocked. All packaging supplies were available, and explained as per there use. I was able to purchase supplies that I could not find anywhere in town. I never had a time when I absolutely needed storage until this hurricane, and my experience was perfect. There is a great staff available for all my needs and I can say that this was the best experience I’ve ever had at a very trying time of my life. I was blessed.
DONALEEN C | First ImpressionsMy storage number was 1675 and the roof had leaked prior to hurricane ida and I’ve tried making a claim and went back in forth with the insurance and office personal. Insurance told me to take it up with the office and the office handed me a pamphlet to call the insurance. I’ve even gotten intouch with the previous owner of the same storage from 2 yrs prior to me having it and they had the same issue. The facility now needs a lot of maintenance and roof issues, and that particular storage should have never been reissued until that leak was fixed .

I was charged 21st each month and that's fine but I moved out on the 1st and you're able to rent it to someone else and it's like uhaul gets double rent for those amount of days. I shouldn't have to pay for the days I'm no longer using it and moved out. That is my only complaint. Thank you.

Reservations made based on units available, but once got there informed nothing of that size available so had to instead utilize two smaller sizes. Doable, but will ultimately be more expensive and not an accurate reflection overall. Regardless, a great facility with a very friendly and courteous staff!

I went it to pick up the truck and an hour later, I was leaving with the truck. it should not have taken an hour to get the truck I reserved ahead of time. I also bought a lock for the storage unit at this time and they charged me $11.95 instead of $9.95 and it took a long time for the girl to take give me the sale price. About 5 hours later, I came to get into my storage unit and it was locked. I called to have them take their lock off and had to wait again. I returned the truck about 5 hours earlier than expected when the staff was still in the office. The guy looked over the truck and told me what my balance was. I wanted a printed receipt so I went inside the office to get one. There I was that I was billed for 2 utility dollys, even though we only had one. The office girl was unable to refund the me the second $7 charge.Two days later, I am still waiting for my refund. The manager who is able to process the refund has been out of the office for the past few days on sick leave.

Bryar W | First ImpressionsFirst, the hours stated that my unit would be available was COMPLETELY wrong! When I rented the unit the girl said 24 hours. Great. Rented a trailer to fully move out of my house that day. When I got back with my first load she informed me that they were actually closing at 5 so that would be the only load I could take. I paid for a 4 hour rental for ONE load. They said that the following week it would be 24 hours. Went back 2 weeks later to drop some things off before leaving state for a few months. What do you know, its closed 8am on a Sunday! I got roaches now that I did not have before moving my stuff in there. My card rarely worked, so the alarm went off all the time. I complained this last time and they closed my storage!!! I had just paid a few days before that! I just wanted access to my stuff! They said I would need to pay another $10 for 24 hours. I declined but never once did I ask to close the unit as I had no where to store my stuff. Every time I dealt with them they were extremely rude. One associate tried saying I intentionally ripped the light out of the trailer! I had showed them how it fell and mentioned how the trailer wasn't put on right. When I got to my destination and went to take my car off, the entire trailer lifted. it wasnt on the ball hitch properly. I am just happy it didnt detach while I was driving down the highway. Not sure how this place is even open.
