John MI rented the U-Haul the date of December 16 we had a snowstorm the 15th person that was working in the store on a Tuesday didn’t have the truck cleaned off showed absolutely no professionalism. I am 65 years old and he pointed to the truck said it was in the front being Jericho Turnpike. All the trucks are in the front. He would not come out and clean the truck off. It should’ve been ready for me. There was no windshield wiper fluid and I was going across country. He didn’t show me how to lock the back of it. He didn’t show me how to use the lights. He didn’t show me about the ramp that comes out. I did speak to a gentleman and he did reimburse me, but I never got to finish my experience so while driving the U-Haul, the back ramp came out about 10 feet and there was a person honking and pointing to the back of the truck so there was no professionalism from this one person Specific person who I did report, but this is for anybody out there doesn’t matter if you’re young or old male or female. This truck was not cleaned off. We had a horrible winter storm and I knew nothing about the back part with the ramp coming out or how to properly lock it so my belongings didn’t fly out while going across country. This person whom I heard is not a very good employee whatsoever. They need to get rid of him because it’s all word-of-mouth

Jim K | Overall ExperienceThe vehicle I rented was not available on the day I needed it. I was given a different vehicle. This truck was well worn and definitively had seen better days. The worst part was that the truck had a terrible had shake once brakes were applied at highway speeds. The brake rotors were warped or something even worse was happening to the front of the vehicle. The truck pulled to the right under heavy braking. Imagine embarking on a three hundred mile journey with a vehicle in such bad shape. I literally wanted to turn around on a couple of occasions because I did not feel safe driving it.

Risa GI would not recommend using U-Haul. My reservation was changed three times. I went to the Syosset location where the manager was rude and dismissive. The process to pick up a vehicle was extremely frustrating. I had to go to three locations in order to pick up a vehicle that I reserved one week prior. Then upon returning the vehicle, the gas range was off due to their error. Including renting a furniture, dolly and hand truck, it cost me $115 for a $20 vehicle. It was way too costly.

MICHAEL PWindshield was filthy, I had to scrub outside at home to get clean. Both windshield wipers useless! I had to replace on my own. Drivers side was undersized. I had no choice, I had to take this truck because it was one-way and it was already hooked to trailer. No one could help me, only one person working at the time.

JULIAN BAlthough the vehicle was scheduled to be returned by 6 PM the following day (picked it up at 6:21 PM), I returned it the same evening, well ahead of schedule—making it available for re-rental at the beginning of business the next morning. To express my concern, I was charged $47.50 for just a quarter tank of fuel, which feels excessive. I realize I didn’t ask about your per-gallon fuel rate, but this charge seems disproportionate to current market prices.

I took one look at the dated facilities and immediately decided to cancel and find a more modern facility to store at.

He said sometimes it takes a while...we tried it again, and it still didn't accept my code. I will try it again by myself when I go there next. Hopefully it will work. I can’t tell you how many times Ive gone into that office and no one was in there. They tell you climate controlled & it was FREEZING!!! The 1 day grace period & $15 if I forget to pay always got under my skin. Corporate uhaul is useless. Even with his rating they say “ Please contact the U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback.” but I guess business before anything else.
