The trailer number I was assigned wasn’t even in the lot. So, when I returned it to a different location, it took 30-45 minutes longer than it should have because according to your website, I was returning the wrong trailer number.

The box drop off was on time but picking it up was delayed both times. In my case this resulted in additional stress as my lease was ending and I could be fined for being on property. Plus still being charged full price even though there were many delays was not preferred. Minimal communication from U-Haul regarding the issue was frustrating and I was only able to attain information when I sought it out myself. Overall very dissatisfied in the process and wish that communication was better between company - truck driver - and customer. It could be a great well utilized system but there are many issues that made this more stressful than it should have been.

Do not over charge a customer because they are a few minutes late. We had to work our lives in to very poor uhaul hours.

Too busy, hard to get help, had issues with the truck on the trip to our destination with warning lights coming on dash. Cruise control quit working, had to contact roadside assistance, but made it to our destination. At drop off I wanted to to talk to some to explain issues but couldn’t get help due to how busy they were & only 1 person there to help everyone & we had to get back on the road to get home due to incoming bad weather. After waiting 30+ mins we just left keys in drop box & left. Hopefully truck gets fixed so next customer doesn’t have same issues! A refund of some sort would be nice!

I would not recommend this location because when I came to pick up my U-Haul this morning my truck was locked in even though I scheduled a time which was fine and we got it fixed, but after we left, we saw that we did not get the moving equipment we ordered which was a furniture, dolly furniture pads and then two regular dollies. I called U-Haul and was placed on hold for 15 minutes so I called back and they told me to come and grab it even though we couldn’t because I was moving. I called again when I got into town and the man was nice and he told me once he dropped off, call back if you didn’t get your refund because there’s a longer process when I called back there was no one able to help me and I was placed on another 10 minute hold with still no resolution two products that I did not receive I want my refund and I want this process to be done.

Out of the 4 deliveries (pick up and drop off from where I was moving to/from), only one pod arrived on time. Both of the scheduled pick-ups were days later, and this was not communicated to me until after the pick-up window had closed. For the final pick up, the driver just forgot to pick up my box entirely, causing it to be picked up 2 days later. I know the company was having issues with their trucks, but that does not mean they can't communicate with their customers in a timely fashion. I spent hours on the phone with representatives trying to figure out when my box would be picked up/dropped off and the representatives often didn't have the answers as they were unable to see the driver's location after the pick-up window had closed. The concept of the portable storage unit was nice, but was not worth the stress of not knowing when my pod would be delivered/picked up.

All of the employees, including the manager on site during pick up of the rental struggled through the process. It took a long time for 3 different customers at 3 separate stations with 3 different employees, one being the manager. The manager actually snidely remarked that both my husband & my driver’s licenses were expired. She said my license expired in February 2025 & we couldn’t rent with expired licenses. We both knew we had recently renewed our licenses, so we looked at our cards & had to point out to her that mine was renewed in February 2025, expires in 2031. My husband’s expires in 2030. She didn’t apologize for her attitude. She had a similar manor with the customer she was helping. Our UHAUL representative just didn’t seemed trained & struggled to get the information entered correctly or direct us to the truck in the lot.

Had a little confusion and didn't have the POD on a trailer for self loading, But Rachael did an excellent job and got me set up to get a a trailer, POD and strap an we were able to get the POD packed. Delivery went smoother.

After checking in to pick up the truck I was sent out to find the truck number in a parking lot full of moving trucks. I eventually found someone to assist me but it took a while to locate and it was parked as far away from the office as it could be. I was scheduled to pick it up that morning so I dont understand why it was parked so far away. It also did not have the moving blankets we requested in it so I had to go back to gather them from the office. Although the vehicle was very clean and fairly new, the exhaust system had a break so was very loud. The truck ran fine and we had 4 extra miles on our contract when we dropped it off. I'm very happy we did not get turned around during our move at the cost of $1 a mile.

Although the equipment was clean, unfortunately, the lack of verification from staff meant that I was charged extra. I used less mileage than originally anticipated and even added gas to the level I received it. However, I relaezed i was charged for an additional 8 miles I did not use nad for gas. It is very unfair that staff do not verify the mileage and gas when clients return the trucks/ equipment and then charge clients additional money.

I have never experienced such poor customer service or been fucked over like I have using uhaul. Told me I would receive a call the day before my pick up. Instead sent me a text saying “please give Uhaul a call regarding your reservation. We need to discuss availability options with you.” I had to reach out and was told they had no trucks available at my pick up site or even in the town. Closest available was 40 mins away. I said fine because it was less than 24 hours before my move and I needed a truck and the person hung up. Pickup was scheduled at 10:30 AM and I got an email after my call about the new pickup site and that I could pick it up at 2PM. This was never communicated to me. I called back and was transferred around to be told that’s the earliest available and was told there’s no other trucks. I reserved over 2 weeks in advance. Every call I’ve had has lacked customer service, care for the customer, and empathy. I knew they would be busy which is why I booked in advance just to find out my truck was given away. Uhaul is the worst company I have ever worked with. Would only recommend if you like to be screwed over and wait on hold for long periods of time with no resolution.

Check engine light was in. I booked online for next day and it said I would get 1 month free storage. I made the reservation got to the location. And was only given the truck for 8 hours And told they don't honor the free storage units. Even though it was still signs hanging up behind the register saying first month free. And the truck was dirty

We were there near the end of the month so a busy time. There was only one person working. I felt really bad for her and the other customers behind us. I am glad we went in the early morning. I recommend that you do as much online ahead of time!

I ordered 2 uBox to be delivered. The night before got a call about it and to reply to text link about placement of boxes. I did so. Told I would hear by end of business day about delivery time. Never heard. Next day waited until about 11 and started to call due to moving company needing to know. After an hour of being hung up on, found out delivery wouldn't be for 7 more days. Panic. Went to local location. General manager saw my panic and helped me. Saved my day. In many ways saved my life. Even though truck's were all booked, got me one. Plus got me a storage unit. I needed this help. She's awesome. Truly

Returned the trailer a day early. Got a call 2 days later asking when I was returning it. Went in to the store and they still hadn't done the return process so they did it while I was there. Took 5 mins, I dont know why it wasn't done the day we returned it.

The paperwork indicated there was 7/8 of a tank of gas. There was actually between 1/2-3/4. I went in to get it corrected. I was told I had to use the check out feature on my phone, take a picture and note it. I tried but kept getting errors when almost complete. I drove a total of five miles. Added $20.65 to get it to 7/8 full. They were busy and didn’t care. They had my card # and would have charged much more per gallon.

Facility is very nice, clean, unit was totally spotless. Reserving online was so easy and very clear check in instructions were emailed the day before. It was not busy when we arrived so we could park and find our unit and unload our first load quickly with no issue. When we returned with the second load, people were parked right in front of the large siding door (which I don’t believe is a parking space) but it made it very difficult to move large items out of our truck and through the sliding door. By the third trip early afternoon it was very busy - people were again parked in front of the sliding door & elevator was backed up so it look us an extra hour just waiting on the elevator because people were holding it on the upper floors. One elevator during busy times was a bit inconvenient. Overall a nice facility and seems to have great management.

The area was very spread out with a lack of large, obvious signs when dropping off after dark. I just picked a spot that looked flat and dropped off the rental. This location needs much better signage, lighted signs preferably, and some way to indicate which type of equipment gets dropped into which area.

Be prepared for long wait times, disinterested staff, and no moving equipment - even if you reserve it ahead of time. Staff disappears for 10-15 minutes at a time which made wait times even longer. If you call at any point you are just put on hold and they never pick back up.

Facility was great, but the service was horrible. The GM had a terrible attitude and treated customers very poorly. I had a 10AM reservation, showed up at 1130AM and after waiting in line for over 30 minutes I was told sorry, we gave your truck away cuz you weren’t here on time. Are you kidding me? I rent a car or have a hotel reservation and if I don’t show up at the exact minute you give my room away? What a joke. So, after regrouping and then spending 40 minutes in line I was finally able to get another truck due to an early drop coming in. The staff was the slowest and most inefficient group I have ever seen - I couldn’t believe how slow things were working here. The storage facility was great and I had no issues once I could finally get my keys to get in, which they also said, sorry, you can’t get in until you get your truck contract.

Reservation was changed for both location and pick up time without informing us, we weren’t able to change it to an in town move so we were forced to drop it off somewhere else, they didn’t have all of the supplies we had reserved for the move, long line and staff wasn’t empowered to be very helpful and was not enabled to help problem solve.

No clear recommendations on dropoff. Line to talk to someone was over an hour long. Finally used my phone to hopefully document dropoff. Asked for picture and I think it went through but there was no verification so I was not sure. It was a waste of my time to wait in line to drop off something ( it had a minor issue that I wanted to explain). Time to complete transaction for equipment was way too long. I had to wait behind many people taking time. Then mine took longer than really necessary.

Things were a little unclear on the website/app when it came to checking in. I checked in ahead of time and uploaded my license, picture and information to make it easier when picking up the U-Haul, but I had to re-enter the majority of the information once I got there. Instructions were not clear about where to get the key. The apps that it would be in a box and when I went inside, they said it was still in the vehicle. Moving blankets were in the back of the truck along with a detached dolly, which I did not order or need. I mentioned this in my checkout, but want to be sure I am not charged for extra equipment I did not order or use.

I have moved many of my kids multiple times in Iowa city and I’m so upset that for finally the last one I figured out to call gal and see if I could have a big truck to move all of them in one day and store all of their stuff for one month before we move them in to the next apartment 🫣 The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful! They went above and beyond to help us out! I’m extremely grateful for the service and help they provided! Will definitely be using them again!

I reserved a unit in the second floor like a week before. When I arrived it took them forever to even find my reservation, and when they did they told me I couldn’t get the unit i RESERVED on the 2nd floor because there was construction on the second floor. It then took like an extra 10 minutes for the person to find a new one for me. After that they were confirming the name and address on my reservation and said I couldn’t “have the same address twice” and I was confused and let them know I only live at one address so I don’t have another one to give. We went back and forth a couple times (friendly) and he then said “it’s for emergency contact”. After all that was figured out and said I had to purchase a lock- so I did. He gave me a keycard and explained how it works, by just swiping it to get it. I’m still very confused on the keycard because I don’t know how it works and the doors just open when I walk in. Is it an after hours access card? I dont know. I got up to my storage unit and opened it- there’s already a new lock in it. Sitting right on the floor waiting for me. I had two locks now. I went to return one but the line was viciously long (like 10+) people, service was slow. So I turned around and left.

The moving truck was ready when I arrived and it was very reasonable to use equipment for the move. The return was made easy by an employee who took the keys and said he would assist with checkout so I didn’t have to wait in line that was about 10 people deep waiting to rent a truck. The store was really busy when I returned equipment.

Both the guyes there didnt speak clearly or good English. I made a reservation at 9am and didn’t leave with a truck until 11am. I came back for unit and was waiting there for awhile.

A complicated situation arose here with account ownership and rent payment for a storage unit. Staff were extraordinarily patient and understanding (especially a red-haired lady at the desk), and got this sorted out for us. I am very grateful for her kindness and efficiency in handling the issue to everyone's satisfaction. Not often you get that kind of service. Employees like that are gold.
