Lady that checked me out told me where the truck was, had me grab my dolly outside, and handed me the keys. It was 3 degrees. It would have been nice if she would have at least started the truck. The truck had 16 miles to empty when I got in it.

STEVEN MYou need to hire more people. My bad experience at this store today was not because of the very friendly lady that helped me, it was because she was the only person working. No other employees on the premises. I waited in the store, alone, for 15 minutes before seeing an employee. My reservation was for 12:30 and I didn't leave the store until 1:05. Out of the 35 minutes I was there, I was inside the building alone for 25 minutes of it. That is crazy to me. The truck had a check engine light on, low tire pressure on multiple tires and the back was filthy. Not just a bit dirty... filthy. I am very confused how it cost me $120 for a rental that was so badly maintained. I wouldn't mind spending that for a great experience but this was definitely not that. Again, the lady that helped me was fantastic. She was just stretched too thin. If that's how you treat your employees, I really hope you pay them a great wage. If I owned that store, I would immediately fire whoever is in charge of daily operations. Unacceptable.
KYLE SInside of trailer had dirt, small pine tree branches, nails, cut wire ties, and paper. There also was Qty 4 packs of packing blankets that had not been used by the previous user. I had to clean out the trailer before I was able to use it and I had to drive to the U-Haul location to take the packing blankets back. It was obvious that this trailer was not inspected when it was brought back before I rented it. Also it was not inspected when my son went to pick the trailer up. When I went to drop off the packing blankets, I complained. This was escalated to a manager and they did give me a small credit to make up for the inconvenience.
DEREK RI’m not sure if the staff was new or high! But they were absolutely unhelpful and I spent 45 minutes trying to return the truck. They could not even help me with the process of reporting damage to the truck.

shelly LI rented this vehicle two days in advance. When I arrived, I was told to go and find the vehicle in a parking spot. The entire lot was covered in ice, so I had to risk my life walking all over the parking lot, trying to find this vehicle, which was not in the said parking spot. I had to walk back inside to get someone to help me. Someone else came out, who also could not find the vehicle. When they did find it, he pointed to it, and said it's over there. It was completely snow and ice covered. I had to let the car run for 30 minutes so that it could defrost the windshield for the wipers to even come unglued from the windshield. This delayed my arrival to the location one hour. I expected the car to be ready to go when I arrived. I was very disappointed with my experience, and I will not use this location again.

RICHARD SThe tow dolly didn’t have working turn signals, so I purchased a set of magnetic lights so that I could rent the dolly & have proper lighting. Halfway home, one of the taillights quit working, so I was in the same spot again after spending an extra $30!

STEVEN RMake sure the person renting the truck knows the importance of returning it on time. I hope she incurred a substantial fee for all of the inconvenience she caused. Also, do not charge for extra mileage if the pickup location is 30 miles away. Although I was unhappy with my Uhaul experience, the staff at Schaeffers was wonderful, so I gave the location 5 stars.

DEVONA AYou could move the displays away from the windows so your associates can see when vans pull up for return. We waited a while, then I had to go into the store. Also, if you want people to complete the “Before you go” survey, you should tell them about it at checkout. I didn’t look at my phone all day!

RONALD CFirst thing was my wife talked with Christopher Newkirk and he was not very pleasant with her hardly spoke and gave her any information. Until myself stepped in and he was more helpful and got through the rest very quickly unlike when he was dealing with her. We got one that didn't have gas in it, so we had to fill up first thing but Christopher wanted us to fill it up way more than what was in it. The engine light came on at 4:37p and we returned it at 6p. We rented uhaul probably a total of like 10 times here in town. This was the only time we didn't have the best service at all with this person.

MONTY HI was charged an additional $4.24 for over mileage when I literally picked up truck Loaded truck and went straight to unload location and then returned truck. I made NO extra stops and should NOT of been charged for overage on miles.

BENJAMIN PThe location itself was fine as was the rep who assisted us. However, the Uhaul truck itself left a lot to be desired in terms of the ride. We rented a 26 ft truck at the LaFountain location in Kokomo for my sister who lives over an hour away in Indianapolis. My husband drove the truck and the roughness of the ride was nearly unbearable. He has a degenerative disc disease in his neck, and every bump in the truck was jarring. We had to make a couple of trips in the Uhaul truck from Kokomo and Tipton to my sister's. I rode with my husband on the 2nd trip so I experienced first-hand the roughness of the ride. It was ridiculous, and I don't suffer from a chronic neck disease! My sister followed my husband when he returned the truck early Saturday morning, and she witnessed how rough it was driving. We were told by the Uhaul rep that the 26 foot trucks tend to ride rough when empty, and he offered to take it for a drive once it was returned. I don't know if he worked on Saturday morning and was able to do that. I assume he didn't because we didn't hear from him, we just got the final charges in an email. I would strongly advise people who have any kind of chronic back or neck issues to not go with a 26' Uhaul. Next time we'll hire movers who have their own truck.
MARY BI arrived July 6th around 4:30pm. The staff indicated I could not be on property after they left at 5pm. The staff on the 6th could not locate my reservation. The staff on the 6th was useless. The staff on the 7th was friendly and helpful. Overall my initial experience on the 6th is the lasting impression of two people who couldn’t help me, seeming as if they just wanted me to leave so they could close early

TRINAE RThe Kokomo location is understaffed for a weekend. I arrived at 1:15. Took about 45 minutes to get checked in and I was the first person in line. Then when the storage unit was found to be too small to get a queen bed through. I had to wait another hour before for help but was never helped. At this point the I needed to turn the truck in before 5 and it was almost 3. I decided to just book a different storage unit elsewhere. You need more than one person on the weekends!! Absolutely ridiculous. I felt bad for the dude working but at the same time just help one person at a time.
