Even though facility was clean and employees were cordial, my personal experience with this location is why I do not recommend. All advance notification and necessary steps were completed for the move out day (before the monthly renewal). I was still charged the amount for renewal even after being ensured that I completed the full checkout at the service desk. I attempted to call every hour on Sunday and nobody picked up until I called at almost 3:30 pm. Service rep stated that he forgot to check me out and proceeded to check me out. Like I said previously, I gave a 5 day advanced notification, rented a truck and moved out everything in a timely manner and was still charged after being ensured I wasn’t. This charged caused a minimal yet substantial inconvenience onto my family. I understand there may have been a high volume of customers that day, but I utilized uhauls service for accuracy and ease of mind. I will consider alternate companies for any future moves…

Over more than 20 years, this Landover location has provided the best service I have experienced from any other locations in DC, Maryland, or Virginia.For this reason, no matter where I live in the area, I only use this location. And, I tell everyone to go to 3900 Whitetire Road for all their moving and storage needs. Don, Rosa, Dominique, and all the staff are the best. I rent trucks frequently and have had several long-term storage rentals. The staff are always professional, welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. Don, the General Manager, is very approachable and accommodating. I recommend this location.

I would especially like to commend Mr. Donald Byrd, General Manager who is consistently pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. He is very good about explaining the process and making sure your needs are met. Even when multitasking he assures you have a good customer experience. My thanks to him for his great customer and personal skills. I love this location! The staff members are knowledgeable, quick, efficient, helpful and pleasant. There are no long lines and I'm able to get the equipment I need with no hassle.

My only comment is this location needs to get control of the rat infestation my items were chewed up and full of rat droppings so I had to wash everything and repack my items and throw away the items it got into and chewed through the boxes besides that it was a very professional spot and would recommend it to others

There are times in life one will lose what they have even the roof over their head...that is what happened. I will miss my things that I worked hard for, hope someone can use them. I do not have the funds to retrieve my things, the amount is too much.

I called and made a complaint. However, I chose to use the mobile app for a reason. I moved 600 miles. It was a super long day. After returning the truck fully on the app, I could not find the drop box. I went inside to ask and got a rude employee who told me that they do not accept the app and I had to drive it around back and wait for someone to come out and inspect it and all of that. When I called, was told that was not true as they do accept the app. I will never return. Employee was rude

I rented this truck to return the next day, I could not return this truck the next day because the truck was still in use, I received a call from this location asking me to return the truck, I told the staff that I'm still using this truck, I explained everything to him that there was a delay where i was offloading ,and i let him understand that they have my credit card details, feel free to debit me for the late return, he said I must return it because they have a booking, I had to return this truck out of frustration by 2pm instead of 6pm, getting to this location, I found out there are lot of trucks available there for renters, i believe this truck was not needed, this person who called just choose to frustrate me and they still debit me for all late fees. What I understand about renters is that if you don't return when you are meant to, they charge you for late return,not forcing you to return a car or truck that is still in use, what if i had return this truck to another location? Will the staff still be telling me they have bookings?terrible... sad

The worker who had on the black skull hat told me to leave and he wouldn't give me a receipt until I demanded one before leaving. In addition, he was very rude when I brought the van back. Because of his poor customer service I would not recommend Uhaul to anyone. In addition, I'm considering about writing a bad review on Yelp and the internet . He needs to be dismissed because of his poor customer service to a paying customer.

I must say the last time I rented from this last location I wasn’t very please with the last young lady who assisted me. This location was awesome. I did a mobile pick up. I didn't catch the name of the guy but I was a lil lost with tying to find my rental. But he walked around with me to the actual location of where the truck was and asked me if I knew how to access the key for it. I informed him that I did and he wished my safe travels. Then upon my return, I left my parking pass from my complex and received a call back from a nice young lady and she said that she would hold it for me at the front since they were closed. The customer service here was top-tier and I would definitely be using this location again.

The automatic doors locked at 5 pm shortly after we arrived which forced us to rush to get things off the truck and in the building. But fortunately the uhaul employee that was there to secure the building went out of her way to help give us a much time as possible before she had to lock the doors. The ladies and gentlemen at the front desk in the service center were super helpful and so nice. The online people ended up giving me the wrong type of storage unit and the ladies at the front checked it out for me, realized it, and got some of my rent knocked down since I didn’t get the size I was paying for, they were super helpful and nice as could be. The place was sooo clean and loved how many carts they had for moving help. This experience was great and I will definitely be using U-Haul storage in the future for all my storage needs. Loved it.

I have been out with a massive heart attack and rehabilitation has been averse for me I have made several attempts to contact Ms Mary at Uhaul and been unsuccessful. I did have the pleasure of speaking to a young man who stated he works there at uhaul and took down my message and inform me he would make sure Ms Mary gets my message I'm still waiting and this been months ago. Hopeful you all have not sold my belongs and I can still obtain them please notify me if this is obtainable

I received excellent service at the U-Haul location in Landover, MD. Mr. Byrd took his time to explain the type of services they had, and he did not hesitate to answer any of my questions. He also gave me time to select the type of accommodations I needed, and he also gave options to choose from. He and the other employees were both professional and courteous. The associate did not book my storage with my truck as I requested. I had to call the day of to rebook! I got to the facility with my movers and the Hispanic girl was Rude and has a smart mouth and condescending attitude.I get to the unit it has a lock nothing they can do! But because of this I incurred significantly more charges with the movers because of them having to repack the truck,go to a different location unload again! So I was very unhappy!!

1. I was shocked disappointed, and angry to learn that there were no elevators. How irresponsible is that of Uhaul. 2. When booking the truck I told the representative that I had a 1 bedroom. When arriving at Lanham/Bowie, I discovered that the representative was wrong. My items did not fit the storage selected. 3. There was only one person serving customers and his customer service was horrible. He had a get me out of here, no personality attitude. When I asked for a larger unit he informed me that there was no larger unit, but also told me that he had no way of finding out if another facility had a larger space. Ironically, when I found another location I was told that Uhaul does have a system that allows reps to check for space openings at other locations. So the rep lied to me. 4. I was late returning my truck the next day because I had to do my own research and find other people to unload me. I'm very disappointed in the final posseS of Uhaul. I'd like the overage for the late return to be refunded to me.

The person working at the UHAUL facility where I dropped my trailer and where I set up my storage unit was AMAZING. His name is Don. Don went ABOVE AND BEYOND the normal call of duty to be expected as an employee and really made things incredible for me after a long stressful day of moving and traveling. Give that man a RAISE. He's easily got to be one of your best employees.

Our move in experience was horrible, problematic, and exhausting on January 29, 2021, at approximately 6:15 PM when we discovered the main entry storage doors were locked. This was in conflict with the Storage Access hours of 5 AM to 10 PM as published on the U-Haul Standard Advantages for the facility. Items had to be moved through a single entry door instead of the various wide double doors at the loading dock. We were told upon move in that we should not be moving in at this time which was in conflict with the published time listed on “Your Storage Place of Landover” nor any other guidance or guidelines, verbal or non-verbal. Generally, it appears to be a lack of consistency of communication among all staff to customer for a smooth transition into the facility which was ultimately resolved through management or by others means.

My first unit had rodents and moisture, which damaged many of my belongings. I filed a claim, but was ignored. I was moved to a nicer unit, which has worked out well. So my poor experience was offset by my great experience. Hence the average rating.

For the most part, I am satisfied with the service provided although shorter wait times when calling and not having mice droppings on my belongings would have improved the experience. I should start off by acknowledging the one disappointment - the ubiquitous rat/mouse poop I would find scattered throughout my unit upon returning every 6~12 mos, That said, Meri Payne is a FANTASTIC facility manager. She has always been attentive and accommodating. It's hard to imagine a facility manager more generous and more capable. I always felt my belongings were safe and the facility was well-run AND I could depend upon her if I had an issue. Thank you, Meri!!

I hadn’t been in this facility since 2004 and I was taken back at the change. I was greeted with high energy abs great customer service at 7:30 am. What a great feeling on a hot Saturday morning when you’re contemplating a move. Ms. Merci has excellent customer service and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this UHaul site.

After hours I went in to store my items I was denied excess. There was a garage door that opened upon my approach in which I did not have access to. This facility is very unsafe and very inconvenient. I tried several times calling the after hour general manager over at Landover to have her assist me and the phone just went to voicemail. She never answered the phone so had I not figured out how to get in the unit I would have had to take my items back home and this was a two hour ordeal. This is only a two-story facility which means there is no elevator I had to walk around the outside of the building three times and up a flight of stairs to get to my unit . I was very unhappy last night

I was told that every storage mine included will have mouse traps and climate control to prevent property destruction... Unfortunately that was not the case! After several months of housing my property with Uhaul, It was time to move out when I opened my unit to find mice ,mice droppings and their urine all over my property. Spoke to a representative about it and he said uhaul can’t do anything about my property- Despite the guarantee of safe guarding my property from Rodents! That’s unacceptable!

I would never use Uhaul again. The rat/mice problem was unbelievable. The only reason I didn’t give POOR as my overall experience is because staff was nice, efficient and professional.

Knowledgeable staff and good Customer Service is hard to come by these days and is why I wanted to share my experience. The staff was very friendly, I was greeted as soon as I entered the facility. I was undecisive on which storage I needed but with the help of two gentleman (Don & Eduardo) they made the process smooth by offering me a climatized storage unit. I am happy on my decision and until now never knew such a storage existed. If you are in the market for a storage unit I would highly recommend this location.

Decent service but entrance to facility mot secure. Never had to use key card to enter. Additionally, main access to facility is in an industrial area, again not very secure. Rat droppings in unit.
