This location required an insurance fee that were communicated as optional when making the reservation online. This required charge was not communicated until arriving to pickup the vehicle.

MARY MI requested a car transport trailer months in advance to be picked up in Ankeny. A few days before I was to pickup the trailer I received a call saying that I had to drive to Marshaltown Iowa. This was way out of the way. The trailer itself had a unbalanced axel/tire that shook the whole 16 hour drive to SLC.
LUCAS LI have no suggestions for improving your service and comfort in installing a hitch on my CRV. Amazing!! I drove from Waterloo to get it installed in Marshalltown and so happy I did as Trinity the GM installed, he was above and beyond expectations. I will take the hour drive and recommend if anyone in Waterloo wants a hitch install. Schedule in Marshalltown, not a Waterloo location fan as they dumped me the day before. Trinity and his team will not disappoint!!

My access card and code to get in the building have been deactivated and I need to ask when I need to get into my unit everytime I go which does not work for me I run a business selling items online and those items are stored in my unit. I also work a full time job so for me to go when someone is there does not work for me. This is wrong what management is doing also he (Trinity) placed a bunch of nasty notes in my account about what he thought which is totally not right. I am so embarrassed and disgusted with uhaul allowing this type of behavior from the management!
Jeni G | Overall ExperienceThe day after I booked my truck wasn’t available, so had to get bigger or change locations. Hardly any gas in it and then I left so much in it when done. Should be full of gas and then refill when finished. I wasted more money on gas. The truck was nice though.

ARTHUR CBetter communication, instructions for first timers, accuracy in information/instructions, and or policies given on U-Haul account; opposed to actual specific policies regarding payments and which forms of payments are required for payments, deposits, etc; so customers can be assured and aware of how much more they will have to pay;, specifically, for down payments if a customer does not have a credit card, leading anyone without a credit card having to pay an extra $100 or more with tax included. This would save a lot more money and time for both the customers, employees, and company resulting in less stressed/frustrated customers.
NICHOLE SMarshalltown IA the manager there is one of the best customer service personal I've dealt with in years. This guy made the whole process smooth and easy. If you have to use Haul in this area go to Marshalltown. Give this guy a raise.

JOSHUA AHad to come back to the pickup site because running lights on trailer were not working. They did give us extra time and they fixed them before we headed to destination. They had it fixed in twenty minutes.
THOMAS SI have used this location before, it was fine then. This time , first checkout of the day, I was told, machines not working, I was given the key to my truck, which was blocked in so I had to go back in to get the person to move the other truck. My truck was not checked for lights or anything, that has never happened before. There was a tire maintenance light on the whole time ( I got out and looked at the tires before I drove) I mentioned the light when I checked it back in. (there was no problem during the time I used the truck) and the return guy said he knew about it and had the tool to fix the problem but did not know how to use the tool yet but would soon. And that it would not effect how the truck ran. Good to know. Not a great experience but it worked out.
KATHLEEN GI think the trucks need to be checked and serviced better. Nothing to do with either location, they were both great. The last two rentals I have had has had truck maintenance issues but uhaul doesn't seem to care. This one the check engine light came on about 300miles into the trip and this is the worst driving truck I have ever used, and I've used alot. It was so rough riding that it gave me a headache and so my other driver took over the truck and he was a semi driver for 30÷ years and he even agreed that this truck was horrible riding.

By 820 still no one at the desk so we left. We come back around 830ish and the girl who pulled up in her car was the employee. I didn’t think they could leave like that and come back and also costumer service you looked right at us said nothing and continued to the rr back when I did customer service I always made sure to let them know to be right with them.

DOUGLAS RI was unable to open an account in the U-haul app as instructed from text sent to me after making my reservation. I understood I needed to open it in order to complete in process for reserving the trailer. We rented. Then when talking to clerk upon pick up of the trailer. She said I didn’t need the app to get the trailer but would have needed it to rent other equipment.

EDU AThe driver door didn't shut all the way unless slammed very hard. Other than that it was fine. I wish some mileage was included, and there was a way to see how how full gas tank is when filling it. You got a 1/4of a tank more than I got it at, but probably won't get a refund of gas money.

Rusk DVery organized drop off system. I was greeted at drop off point before out of vehicle. I was asked how my experience was. He listened to my thoughts of door and heating/cooling system. Vary polite and friendly customer service. I felt safe driving the vehicle. I would recommend renting this company. He actually looked at fuel line and vehicle appearance. A VERY HIGH rating from this company.

I used to have a storage shed that was 15x18x20 and it cost me $80 plus tax and I had 24 hour access but there was very little security with those sheds and there weren't any available to me at this time. However, I am very satisfied with UHAUL's security. I just wish the shed's were a little larger.

Was told there was nothing they could do and they had nothing available, waited on hold for support from office managers for 25 minutes and then magically was told, well I guess we have 1 storage unit available. Was also told garage doors open automatically, but doors did not. Had to get office workers to open doors and let us in. After that, most things went smoothly. Clean facility.

Seems to me the employees of this u-haul need to establish a daily routine of going around and making sure things are picked up and clean. Also we had on our day of moving out a roach came out from under a box. We now had to go through everything and make sure we were not taking with us these bad and nasty cruisers. Think if they would bomb every other month to prevent this from happening. Other than these the staff is differently helpful. Chris the manager bends over backwards in making things right. A+ in his customer skills effort. Thinking they just need to dial in the cleanliness.
