Computer system was having issues so check in process was affected slighty not terrible. Could also improve guest wifi in the office area to help with self check in.

WALLACE FIt’s such a pain to schedule drop off/pickup. It takes a long time for pods to be picked up. I was billed for an additional month after scheduling a pickup - aggravating!

I don't know how it was cheaper to drive it all the way back to middletown NY from Liberty NY. When there were uhaul rental locations closer to my where I ended up. So I paid twice the milage and gas.

Paul JI stored my furniture for a few months and one of my dressers ended up having mold on it. The building claims to be climate controlled but the 3rd floor was at 83 degrees so I imagine humidity is the issue. I didn’t bother to express what happened to the location because I’m aware they are limited in what they can do. And I’m sure they are not buying me a new dresser. But this is something to be mindful of if you store your belongings there. The first floor is probably ideal as it does not reach the high temperatures the upper levels have.

jezabel m | First ImpressionsThe trailer that I ended up using (the first one they started to hook up to my truck had a damaged hitch assembly) had a smashed fender which was purely cosmetic, I know, and a very rusty wheel upon pickup. When I loaded the vehicle, I was picking up I realized that the slots the ratcheting mechanism for the wheel tie downs were rusted and the left unit when a load was put on it pulled out. I had to hammer the lip up as best as I was able and add additional tie downs to the vehicle to secure it for safe transport on the trailer. I have rented car trailers from U-Haul numerous times through the years without issue. This unit however, needed maintenance/repair. Not a good experience. I spent add'tl time, money and had to travel at a slower rate to complete the transport of a vehicle. This experience is not reflective of the staff at this facility. They were and are always a pleasure to work with!

She was informed that i would pay out and vacate the unit but still persisted in harassment, My sister is in a recovery period from some traumas and has her bi polar ocd triggered over this stupid storage unit administrator.. Every day for months!! Money is tight and everyone else seems to know there can be delays in payments… I plan to voice my complaints up the chain.. Plus i called in advance, I asked for the counterman to give me access as i had 4 people standing in 24* weather staged to load out.. It took another trip to the office and 35 mins of my time to gain access.. No card reader function, broken intercom and no direct phone contact, got stuck in que and spoke to mesa az!! While waiting to get door with cameras on it open??? Your 5x10’ closet is too exspencive…

We drove from Middletown to Nanuet/New City with no food and no drinks or cigarettes yet we were charged for cleaning the vehicle. I will not be using u- haul again.

I was called on Friday April 26th from representive of U-Haul that they change my location to pick up the truck. I was not happy but the agent was helpful and gave me 20 additional miles. On Saturday when I planned my day to pick up the truck I got to the location at 8:50am no one was there and the truck was behind a fence that was locked. I called you igual and they were given me the round about. Finally at 10am a gentleman shows up opens the gate I asks him can I get the keys for the truck he told he does not have it and he will call the owner to check if they have the keys. They told him no. Meanwhile I’m still waiting for a U-Haul representative to help me. After 1 hours waiting to get help from U-Haul they found a location where to get the truck. It was 20 minute away from Kearny . Meanwhile I have my movers waiting for me in front of my house getting pay to do nothing because I was not there ! Why I was getting the truck. I wasted 2 1/2 hours trying to resolve an issue that had nothing to do with me. I had anxiety attack I was terribly I was not expecting all this to happen. It was a horrible experience. I was disappointed. This was my first time using U-Haul . Not sure if I will use it again. Leslie

ZACHARY B | Online Move InThis ha been my worst experience with U-Haul. I booked my unit online the morning of 08/01. I made 2 trips to the unit during store hours, and both times I had to connect with the desk agents to gain access to the unit. My code was changed multiple times, and I was not informed of the new codes. I was given multiple access cards, and at this point I am not even sure if the card currently in my possession is the card that should allow access to the unit. The evening of 08/01, I arrived to drop off a final load for storage at about 9:00pm. I attempted to call the general manager, Jimmy Coscette, no less than 20 times using the number listed on the door (845-741-9077) between 9:15 and 10:30, and I texted the number four times between 9:14 and 10:00pm. We were on the phone with U-Haul customer support for at least 45 minutes, and while they were able to assist with providing us codes we still could not gain access. The U-Haul agent also attempted to contact Jimmy, and they were unable to reach him. I contacted Maximum, they were able to provide my code for access, but I was still unable to gain entry with the code they provided. Maximum also tried calling Jimmy as well as the district office without success. I was on a time constraint and had to begin my trip that evening to arrive at my destination because we were supposed to attend a funeral for one of my family members, so I had to throw hundreds of dollars in worth of my own possessions away instead of storing them in the unit. I contacted the district office the evening of 08/01 and let them know how upsetting this has been and that we needed someone to reach out, and we have yet to receive a response. This has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend storing with U-Haul to anyone I know based on the poor level of customer service and lack of ability to gain assistance when it was needed.

We had planned to Return the truck by then but were running behind. We stopped to ask about procedures after closing cause we had a full truck we had to move into the Unit. The woman at the desk was rude and not helpful. A man outside told us not to worry just to use the app for returning it after hours. At approximately 7:22pm the woman for the desk came to the storage building which we had a full truck back up to the doors. And locked the large automatic doors. She then proceeded to tell my brother to use the smaller side door and left. This was very inconvenient due to having large furniture which was difficult to get through such a small door. Then sign outside stated there was access to the building until 10pm. There was no signs stating the large automatic doors would be locked before that time. As a new customer I was very frustrated by this.

Bonnie R | Overall ExperienceThere was a couple of times the staff were rude and not willing to help. I had a day where I miss placed my locks keys, and needed the lock cut off. When I went to the office the one staff member said he couldn’t do it all though he was sitting there on his phone and he had to wait for his coworker that just went to the restroom. I waited almost an hour for them to cut the lock so I can put the new one on…. I went to the office and asked if the other staff member was still in the restroom and the one that “couldn’t help” said yes he’s still in there. I ended up having to leave to be some where and came back the next day. The next day when I came back the staff member that couldn’t help me , ended up helping me since he was the only one that could that was there. When I moved my items out I had to wait for the staff member to come and open my unit as the store removed my lock and put their own. The girl that helped was very rude and stated “my manager wants every thing out and gone” when she said this she had a nasty attitude. She was not a Pleasent person. It also took her a bit to go to the unit and take the lock off. The time that I had my unit there was 3 different managers. Thankfully the most recent manager is a very Pleasent and nice person! He is super understanding and willing to help in any way possible ! He responds in a timely manner and is willing to take the call. The manager before him was never there or never answered.

We called multiple times and could never speak to anyone at the local facility. When we made the trip up there for a lost key, we were told that they would call a locksmith and then call us to meet him and have the lock cut off. I later got the locksmith charge on my bill when the lock had not been cut and we had not been called. After being told the locksmith would come, I over heard the manager telling an employee just to tell customers in the future that they don't cut locks. After the $50 charge for nothing, the manager went and cut the lock himself. This is the Cliff's Notes version, but because of the lost key and locksmith situation, we didn't have access to the unit for months and basically only got the lock cut off in time for a move to another state.
