From the start of the rental process, it was an excruciating experience with U-Haul. The guy that did my transaction at Muskegon MI U-Haul was not helpful one bit, walked me two steps out the door pointing to the truck saying that one there. A big sign was left in the window and when I asked where to place it, he told me to just toss it somewhere in the truck. He didn’t verify anything about the truck with me nor let me know about the link to use for pictures and to walk around the truck to verify the condition of the truck. The truck that was provided to me for rental was not up to DOT guidelines. It was very unsafe traveling. I could not drive over 55-60mph due to the front passenger side/tire was shaking severely, the majority of the speed limits on my travel route were 70. The rear driver side was so hot and the break was sticking it smelled like it was on fire. Roadside assistance wasn’t available for over 90 minutes when I called to inquire about the shaking of the truck only 3 hours into my traveling. I was traveling with my newborn baby, a dog and 3 more children and could not sit around that long especially having a deadline on time for my destination. When the truck was being returned to the destination on my contract provided by Muskegon MI U-Haul location on Apple ave, I was told by I storage in N fort Myers that they could not accept the truck and if they did it would be 2 days or more for processing to return the truck to u haul. I then had to travel to another location that was U-Haul to ensure they could take the return of the truck. This caused me to have to pay for more gas and put more miles on the truck. I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the whole experience with U-Haul. Especially when I also participated and did a laud share for u-haul!! I would not recommend using U-Haul especially out of the Muskegon mi location. I have also filed 3 CAFs regarding my experience with U-Haul central 1800 #

Uhaul didn't have my rental unit that i reserved in fremont. So they sent me 35 miles to a different location. They then charged me for out of town rental for the dollys. Yes they comped me some miles but it didn't cover the extra gas and 2+ hours I had to pay for the movers.

This place is amazing. It is like the mecca of Uhaul in the SW of Michigan. Drop off took less than 20 minutes and was very easy. Very friendly, and helpful with special requests. Through longer than expected travels times, and sickness, there was no rush to get the trailer back, as long as good communication and needs were asked for. Very willing to work with the customer, (me). Another AAAA++++ rating.

Very crowded lot and it took a little longer than I would have expected before the gentleman came out to check the equipment in, and we were the only ones there. But the return process was a breeze compared to the pick-up process

They gave me a truck that had bad breaks the receipt for gas was definitely not was in the truck even down to the miles they had the paperwork I’ll never use them again and will be cleaning out my unit and going elsewhere!!!!! Even though I had pictures of the odometer and gas level that I took as soon as I realized what was on the receipt was not true they didn’t care

When I received the trailer and opened it up, there was about 3 in of snow in the trailer, about 3 ft in. With the slick metal surface, it was icy, slippery, and dangerous. It took me about 3 hours to remove all the snow and ice from the trailer to make it safe for my family and me to walk on and off the trailer without falling on our butts. Not a great experience at all.

Key broke off in lock so we were cutting it off. Manager said only locksmiths can do that. I had to pay $130 to get the lock off storage unit that I bought from you. What a crock. Rented a truck to move stuff out of unit, it had a broken mirror, no a/c.

The entry gate issues and security card readers need updated bad. The prices for storage there at Uhaul are outrages! I got a storage unit 4× the size for half the price and all the same security features. There gates work and the unite are far more accessible. This Uhaul facility is crammed into a tiny place with way to many things going on, with makes navigating around the facilities much more difficult.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. However, I was disappointed there was no longer 24-hour access to the storage areas. I saw that as very useful. Also, there is a strong, overpowering smell of rodent waste and rodent activity in the storage area. I've seen this facility cleaner before in the past and wish to see that level of cleanliness again.

I know that UHaul needs to address the ongoing issue with the rodent problems in units, I had my items stored for over 4 yrs, and the rodent fieces in my unit #139A was terrible, I don't know if other customers have/have the same issues, but as the rent continues to go up, this issue really needs to be addressed.

There was a small leak in the roof, but nothing was damaged. Also, the unit was emptied and verified as in good condition as of 10/30/21. My unit was rented on the 27th. And NO proration reimbursement was given. I paid a month's rent for four days? And when I asked asked why, the M.O.D. gave me this reason: "that's just the way it works." I will never use U-haul's services again.

The price is quite a bit higher than other storage facilities in the same area. The other units are maintained a little better but the staff has always been friendly and easy to work with. I would not have moved out other than the price for the unit.

The moving experience has been stressful. Once I arrived at Muskegon Uhaul Storage after driving up 14 hours from NC...they didn’t have my storage unit available. I had reserved over a month ago (GM told me they do first come, first serve). I have called the 1800 number 3 times (got a person once & they hung up on me before I could even explain), called Regional Manager (left VM) & sent email to customer service. No reply from anyone. After waiting 3 hours at Uhaul return/storage unit, I finally left & I now have a full Uhaul truck over 2 hours away with no solution. Only bright spot is a different Uhaul location (Houghton Lake) has been trying to help-GM is super friendly & answers her phone.

24/7 access would be ideal for me in my lifestyle. Being a Professional Trucker I may only be in town for a 10hr break and having ANY access denial is frustrating. But they were the only place with a larger unit. They did work with me on my moving truck though which was awesome of them.

The staff were friendly. However, the agent who rented me the truck informed me of the special that month- stating I was eleihible for a one-month free storage unit. And beyond a month it would be regular price. He did not share that the unit was at the dropoff site from my one way trip. I called to reserve the unit, explained that I wanted to take advantage of the special and a different agent booked it. Again I was not told that the unit had to be at the other location. So when I arrived with my belongings to put in the unit I rented, I was surprised to find I was being charged full price. I am very disappointed that the first two agents didn’t tell me the exact details. It feels like a bait and switch.

I went by one weekend and the gate was stuck open. If you are 3 days late on the monthly rent they lock you out of your storage unit and won't unlock it until it is paid in full.
