Again, UHaul changed the drop off location 24 hours prior. I had originally scheduled the drop off for a location that was 5 minutes away, instead UHaul changed the location without asking me first and I had to drive an extra 30 minutes. I would like to be reimbursed for the time and gas that I had to spend for drop off and delivery.

NORBERT SI rented the U-Haul online. As it got closer to our travel date, we decided to get a larger trailer so we went to the U-Haul dealer closest to us in Bonita Springs. We looked at the sizes and decided to change to a 5 x 8 trailer. When we went to pick it up at the same location, they told us that our rental place was a 30 minute drive away in Naples. When we change the size, one would think that the man helping us would have clarified that we are picking it up in Naples and of course I would have wanted to change that to pick it up at the place that was just a few miles down the road from our home. Seems like poor customer service to me.

CHRIS LThe only negative with the experience is that the previous user had smoked marijuana in the truck. When they brought the truck around, the employee jumped in with a can of deodorizer. It didn't work! I don't mind the smell or that people smoke pot; however, I am driving a 26' fully loaded truck from FL to SC with mandatory weight station stops in FL and GA. I don't want to be in a position where a police officer suspects that I was the one smoking pot and then I have my entire truck rummaged through. This was really a serious concern, and I think U-Haul needs to have a policy that is more than just spray some Lyson and hope for the best.
William MMoved pick up location. Promised (twice) it was a newer truck with cruise control. Old truck no cruise. Transmission went out at 1:00 in the morning. Took 8 hours for new truck. When they transferred equipment to new truck, complete disregard for my stuff and damaged alit if it. Absolute nightmare.

LEE JOne way 5x8 trailer rental Florida to Canada. The pickup location seemed to change. At one point I was going to have to drive an hour for pickup at alternate location. But then it changed back to original location the day before pickup. Also, got zero response to my questions sent as notes with the order. And when tried to contact local person it would flip to the national site with nobody home - took several tries, guess local office was really busy. Finally, when I initially tried to get hitch installed at pickup location I was told their installer was sick. Not so sure there was even that capability there. But once I had the trailer, it was in great shape with new tires. Smooth trip. No issues at Canadian border. Drop off location very friendly.
MICHAEL FMy only complaint would be the entrance . It's on a highway with limited parking, the entrance and exit are narrow. But the staff was great.

BENJAMIN HOur experience with U-Haul was nothing short of a disaster. It started with the reservation, which we made a month ahead of time. We made numerous subsequent calls to U-Haul to confirm our reservation and each time U-Haul assured us the 20ft truck will be there. We even called just two days before the reservation and again they assured us the truck will be there. And if not, there are many local dealers, U-Haul will have no problem getting us a 20ft truck. Fine. The day of the rental, there is no truck. U-Haul simply says, “Sorry, there is nothing we can do.” So, just like the Seinfeld episode (with the rental car), we discover that U-Haul is good at “TAKING the reservation, but not very good at KEEPING the reservation.” We asked what about all those trucks in the lot? U-Haul says, “Sorry, those are only for local moves.” How about a larger truck? U-Haul says, “Sorry, we don’t have any.” How about a smaller truck? U-Haul says, “Okay, here’s a 15ft truck.” We took it although it was way too small, and we packed it to gills. We also rented an auto transport and U-Haul loaded the car onto it for us (and that was nearly a disaster too). Before we left the U-Haul store, a nice woman at U-Haul did a walk around with us showing the damages to the truck (there were many, it had 85,000 miles), but there was no written summary provided to us. Big mistake. While we were driving along the interstate, we saw an unfortunate couple with a U-Haul truck and an auto transport in the shoulder … and their car had fallen off of the auto transport! The car was severely damaged. At our next stop for gas, I checked our auto transport and one of the belts holding our car wheels had come off! There was just one belt and two safety chains holding it! We reattached the disconnected belt and kept a close eye on it the rest of the trip. Thankfully, it did not disconnect again. After we arrived at our destination, we unloaded the truck and the car and returned the truck and the auto transport to U-Haul. The clerk went outside, examined the truck and auto transport, and closed our reservation. We also received an email with a receipt showing $0 due, paid in full. However, the next day we received a suspicious email from U-Haul with another invoice, this time for $215, and showing a charge to our credit card for $215 for a “Missing or Damage Charge.” Farther down the receipt in fine print it read, “Looks like they hit a tree limb. Very damaged corner cap.” “Hit a tree limb???” On the interstate?? I assured them we did not hit a tree limb, nor anything else for that matter. I asked them to review the summary report from our walk-around inspection before we departed, and U-Haul said, “We don’t have one.” Ugh, we should have requested one. We have subsequently spoken with U-Haul several times since then, and they said someone from Corporate will be contacting us. We still have not heard from them.

Upon returning van I informed the employee doing inspection about problem. I asked if he would like to see pictures we had taken. His statement was no and thought they had resolved the problem prior. He also mentioned he would give us a discount which he did.

CHARLES SMy experience had nothing to do with the location. It was one of the worst truck rental experiences that I have ever had. U-haul gave me a complete run around on where a truck would be available. I would have never found out that a truck was not going to be available at the original rental location unless I had called. No one from U-haul was going to call me. We were on the phone for almost an hour, transferred 5 times. When we got to the 4th alternate rental location, they originally said they would do a one-way rental. They finally relented. While we were driving the truck, I got a phone call from a U-haul representative asking why I never picked up the truck. I explained that I did pick up the truck. She repeatedly accused me of making duplicate reservations even after I explained the situation to her. She was very rude as were the representatives who repeatedly transferred us during the hour-long phone call. I have nothing good to say about U-haul except for the guy who checked us in.

I had to go down and go through my stuff no dry way to repair (not your fault) was told I could leave my key and I would be contacted when the drywall was replaced in my storage until. 3 months later not contacted and needed stuff out of the unit went and got my key and the dry wall was never replaced. They did cut a hole in the dry wall as I had to clean up the mess when I moved out. That was another thing if you went in and did work on dry wall you should clean it up not me.

The biggest detractor from this site is that it is extremely difficult to bring anything in a truck or trailer as the entirety of the two months I used this storage I was barely able to park anywhere near the only doors into the building despite having three sets of doors that were always locked effectively doubling the time it took to load and unload storag items. Also it should be noted that the font parking of the storage is so packed with uhaul trucks that my family and I had to park halfway onto a busy road while unloading and this is incredibly unsafe as I saw ample storage space for the fleet trucks in the back.
