I booked online for a 2 day rental and the clerk changed it to a 1 day rental and they had no moving blankets so I had to go to Aurora to pick them up adding nearly an hour of delay to my busy moving days. Then I was charged extra for the drop off timing. And the sliding door was not working properly.

I then received a call from Uhaul on Friday informing me that the trailer would not be available at the Bradford location which I reserved it for, and I would have to go to the Newmarket location to get it. This put me 30 minutes out of the way. I received a confirmation via text message that the trailer would be available at the Newmarket location. Saturday morning, I arrived at the Newmarket location at the time I had the trailer reserved for. There was one attendant working behind the counter with a long line of people waiting. When I finally got to the counter the attendant told me that there were no trailers available and there must be a mistake. I showed her the texted message, and she then asked me to call some number. This infuriated me as I did not make the mistake so why do I have to call some number. When I refused to do so and told her that she needs to call the number and fix the issue not me, she then made a call. After a long wait, with customers waiting behind me, she finally went outside to discover that there were in-fact two trailers in the lot. This lack of organization and professionalism set me back 1 hour in time wasted. I will never rent from UHaul again.

DAVID PI've rented a few times but one thing really bugs me. The hitch makes alot of noise almost like it's going to fall off. Traveling hours makes for a really uncomfortable ride.

CESAR DOn Monday May 21st I went into the Newmarket Location and got a 10 x 15 storage, with paperwork completed and everything was done. I moved in on Saturday May 26th and they gave my storage away to someone else. I had to wait for almost an hour for them to find me another storage. It was stressful since I had movers with me, and I had to pay them for the extra time. This is not a reflection of Noah who was working there both days, he was very helpful but it took him a long time since there were many customers. I was disappointed with the inconvenience that they gave my storage away, I mean who gives storage away?

They were playing music very loudly and yelling comments back and forth to each other each time I entered the office. I dropped off the trailer, there was no one else around, I was told that I could just leave and that it would be checked in but it took almost 3 hours before it was finally checks in and I received my receipt. He didn’t seem like he was very interested in his job or serving customers. .
MOHAMMED-REZA HI sure wish that I was given the proper address for the U crates as a result I had to beg the moving company to keep my belongings on the truck for a night They agreed at a huge price. I had no other option to pay the rediculuous price of over 900 bucks I have called head office to hopefully will help me with this charge. I was unaware that the company was in Scarborough

JOHN BUnfortunately the day I was there, the computer system was down and attendant's were finding it frustrating but they did get us checked in and on our way fairly quickly using an alternative system. In terms of experience I would say the only issue was all of the clutter in the store which is why I cannot rate the experience higher. With respect to the rental it was smooth and flawless. Return of the truck was similarly quick and flawless and they emailed me a copy of the receipt later because system was still down. Although the store is a bit of a mess upon entering I would give strong recommendation for this rental location.

Younan YLeft turn signal was not operating and when I got back to drop off the vehicle your staff acted like they were aware of the issue. Which is totally disgusting and I was fortunate that the OPP officer who pulled me over for a non working signal on Hwy 7 was understanding
JOHN BThe vehicle was not cleaned at all, had a warning on for oil change, and while the tank should have been full, it was not. I had to fill 20 liters after driving 52 km. Customer service did not care when I complained about this upon return.

DOUGLAS JWas quite shocked to show up and discover I have to connect the trailer I rented where every time before, it was connected by a U-Haul rep to ensure it was properly done. I also had to drop it off on my own - and they now take after hours drops for trailers, which seems risky from a liability POV. Other than that, good location!

CARLOS SLubricant on the hitch would be a good start. After 150 km I had to pry off the coupler from my ball. Also trying to lift a 6 X 12 on and off was quite a work out for my 70 year old back. Put a crank tongue jack on these things! Also if you want your customers to connect and disconnect on their own at the slanted parking area wooden blocks laying in the parking spot would be of some Assistance in keeping the trailer from running away after disconnecting.

Jeff OEngine had a really tough time starting. U-Haul employee was challenged to start it. Ketchup on the console showed the vehicle was not fully cleaned inside. Otherwise the vehicle was very clean and ran well once started.

SALIM BMy second time using this location in less than a month and it was excellent. I had prebooked by calling and got good, quick service on the telephone in U Hauls telephone centre. The pick up was easy and quick and the tech attached the trailer for me. He was friendly and made the whole process painless. The drop off was equally easy and the same tech unhitched me. Don't rent trailers or trucks often, but will do so again at this location as the need arises.

BRANDON RWhen I arrived to pick up my cargo van, I noticed that 2 of the tires were low on air, the front passenger and rear driver tires. This was confirmed by the digital message on the dashboard in the van. When I brought this to the attention of the associate, she seemed dismissive and said that the tires were filled the day before. I then brought her out to show her the tires and she seemed unsure but agreed to refill them with air. She proceeded to use the air compressor on the front passenger tire. The air compressor showed the tire was at 30PSI, and she then stopped it at 43.5PSI, checking the tire by gently tapping it with her fist. I then told her that according to the label inside the driver side door, the front tire pressure should be 55PSI. She didn't seem to know about this and then returned to refill the tire with air. Once the tire reached 55PSI she said that the rear tire looked fine, she didn't even bother to check it with the air compressor. I requested another van as I felt this one was unsafe to drive. She said that all vans were already rented. I then asked her to leave the air compressor in the van, in the event that I needed to refill the tire during travel. When I arrived at my home to load the furniture in the vehicle, I took the time to check all 4 tires, and the rear driver tire was at 59PSI, when it should have been at 80PSI according to the label the vehicle. My travel was delayed because of this inconvenience. The time lost isn't an issue at all. The real issue is from the fact that this location was willing to let me leave with a vehicle that was not properly checked by the associate and other employees before allowing a customer to leave. The associate seemed uninformed and unconcerned about this problem. Furthermore, there was garbage in the front of the van, so it was clear that no one had bothered to clean it before we picked it up. I have been a U-Haul customer for years, and this is the second time that I have had this exact incident at this location. Tires not properly inflated and garbage in the van. I will say that the associate who helped me when I returned the vehicle (a different person) was professional, polite and did a great job in helping me with payment. The standards at this location are abysmal. I will not rent another vehicle here, nor will I recommend anyone do so. It is obvious that vehicle standards and safety are not a priority. Thank you for your previous business. I hope that your standards improve in the future.
MATTHEW MVehicle fuel mileage was terrible and vehicle was started almost empty and needed immediate fueling. Back did not appear to be sweaty and cab interior very dirty with garbage on floor.

The attendant calls the guy and he returns with the truck about 12:30. I have to delay my pickup appointment elsewhere and lose my spot (was scheduled for 12:30 but I'm late). And my helper is made to wait for extra 30 minutes and that makes him late to other appointments. All because U-haul rents to me for a confirmed reservation at noon but doesn't even have the truck (or a a replacement vehicle) at the location until 12:30. Well, you asked. You've been nagging me for this review for days. I didn't want to give it because I don't like being negative. But service was crap (although friendly). The truck was filled with dirty straw by the way.

GHULAM AOf all the places I expected to have a five-star experience, a U-Haul rental wasn’t one of them. Yet here I am, completely floored by the absolute masterclass in customer service from Cody at the Harry Walker Parkway location. From the second I walked in, Cody turned what should’ve been a dull, transactional process into an effortlessly smooth and downright entertaining experience. This guy wasn’t just handing out rental agreements he was cracking jokes, offering solid advice, and somehow making moving logistics fun. Who knew renting a truck could feel like chatting with an old friend? The truck? Immaculate. Ready to roll. The process? Faster than I expected. The service? Unreal. If you ever need a U-Haul, do yourself a favor and go see Cody. You’ll leave with a truck, a smile, and maybe even a new appreciation for customer service done exceptionally right.
Zackary LTruck was not parked in the spot specified by front staff. Truck had the previous customer's moving blankets and trolley. Truck was also covered in snow and located in a difficult spot to pull out. Gas was not at half as stated in the contract - it was actually lower. Raised this with front staff and was told that it would be adjusted on their system. The service is usually average.

Jennifer F | Overall ExperienceI am disappointed at the customer service at the location where I picked up the truck. The youge gentlemen there clearly showcased that they do not care. The truck was parked all the way to the back, no one even brought the truck to me, I had to go in rescue a truck that was snowed in. On top of that the trucks wiper was half broken when I got the truck, so I had to deal with that the whole trip.
ASHKON PGot to the location started the process with the girl at the desk who didn't seem to want to be there started doing the paper work while listening to two people ( guys ) in the back room yelling and using course language while on a call to another person . Very loud and rude. Once all the paper work was done I was told to walk to the back and find the truck. After walking around for 10-15 minutes I finely located my rental which was FULL of snow . I don't carry a snow brush with me especially after being dropped off. Returned the truck 4 hours early only to wait inside with 4 other people and no worker to be found. We waited 18 minutes until someone came in. Will never go back there.
JOSEPH DInside of trailer required tarp, as it was dirty. Insurance is too expensive, at 50% of rental cost. Excellent hours and great staff, especially the hard working lady on Tuesday morning, Feb.11th.

I arrived at the seconday location promptly at 9am and the manager/sole employee did not show up until 9:30 am. By the time I got check out and back to my place to start moving it added an additional 2 houra to my 12 hour day which included a storage unit move wherein the day of arriving to check in I was told it was a second floor unit lol u haul is an absolute joke and I will never use you again.

My first 3 weeks were fine then out of no where there was an apparently a bunch of issues they had with me that they never brought to my attention. Added I’m 30 weeks pregnant. I have rented here in the past and never had a issue so when I went to looking for someone to rent from again I retuned here and was very disappointed and completely turned off from the whole experience altogether. The costumer service was awful when the end of the month came up I asked if we were going to continue to have issues and they ensured me we weren’t then locked me outta my unit after I paid and told me I would not have access to my things or get my money back they ended up calling the police where I was thankful that the cops sided with me and told them to issue a refund and to give me access to my unit to clear my things out anyways I took my business else where but I was still very disappointed about the whole situation and added it was stress I did not need especially pregnant. Could probably do better next time U Haul especially better employees with better customer service skills it’s also really sad that it was grown adults acting like children and the young adults that worked at this location did better then the much older adults.

When alarm did go off, no one EVER bothered to even check on our unit. We were told security gate was going to be fixed--that never happened. Access code pad was eventually damaged, so instead of fixing, was taken out and never repaired. Constant water/ice around entrance to unit. Very poor security, maintenance, and access. Not a great choice for a business. Seems like UHaul would rather prioritize their daily rentals, rather than their ongoing monthly customers.

I don't think that the contact sensor is close enough to the door to recognize it. The first time I tried to log out, I tried it about three times and reported to the staff in the office. It was still not corrected three months later.

Nick N | Overall ExperienceThere is no longer any fence securing the units - an alarm system alone is insufficient when a truck can drive in, cut a lock and drive out before authorities get the chance to arrive. Regularly we had a trailer or a truck blocking access to our unit. Often when we needed to speak to staff, they were preoccupied and it required a longer than average wait. Given the above what I would classify as significant issues, the cost was astronomical for the poor services we received.

Deron C | Overall ExperienceWhen we first started to rent over 25 years ago the property was securely fenced and gated, that is no longer provided. The addition of keypad entry was cumbersome and never well communicated. Any improvements certainly never seemed to benefit longtime unit renters. I often found nails and screws on the driveways. Rental equipment often made navigation though the lot difficult. The gate was often impeded by equipment renters. Snow clearing was intermittently sufficient.

Our month free storage unit was put for the wrong date (24th) when we were moving in the 27th so there was only a small locker set aside rather than the one prearranged which could accommodate everything. We could only put half of the storage items inside and we had to bring back the rest to my dads. The miles were comped but made a stressful situation even worse

Also they changed the doors at some point and whoever was the installer broke our glass vase by the door. The vase was only 60 dollars so I won't cry about that but it would of been honest if someone just let us know. Lastly they kept raising the price every few months. I wasn't going to write a review but they kept sending me notification to please write a review.

Some would consider this a slimey business practice and forcing a customer to prepay. I would have if I had the money. So your business practice hurts the less fortunate that those that have an abundance of funds available to them. So no I won't recommend your services to others.

Watching the video does not explain exactly how, where & when the pictures should be taken! I ended up checking out 3 times before I got it right & that took almost 30 minutes! Even then I didn’t check the right box to pay a outstanding $8 - but after 3 tries thankfully the app just pushed it thru & I could drop off the keys! Not so bad once you know how it works but would have been nice to have a heads up as to what to expect! All this to save a $20 that was never there in all of my previous rental!

It would have been nice to have some access to garbage containers given the costs. The only thing that was a pain in the butt was the number of U-Haul trucks and trailers parked everywhere making it awkward getting a truck and/or trailer in to bring stuff in and out of my storage locker. Not enough room was allowed at the ends of buildings to actually make a safe turn to come out. My recommendation would be to have all of these trailers parked in a designated location not randomly plopped everywhere.
