PAMELA YCUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! This was my first time using U-boxes and it’ll be my last. I made my reservation back in April of 2025 for 7 boxes with weigh tickets. I didn’t hear anything until June, about a week prior to my boxes delivery date to my house, where I was told they could deliver the boxes between 9am and 5pm, and I would find out the delivery window 2 hours prior. This was a bit concerning since I allotted myself one day to get everything loaded in the boxes, but that’s on me. Having the boxes potentially dropped off at the end of the day and picked up first thing the next day would just not work for me. So instead I asked to adjust my dates to give me one extra day to load. Well, it turns out the trucks, at least the one delivering from Savannah, GA does not deliver or pickup on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I was also unable to adjust the date to the left as everything had already been booked. So I had boxes dropped off on a Wednesday and picked back up on a Monday. During the online reservation process, I was in the middle of buying a house, so I didn’t have an exact destination address, but I did have a city and state. The website said, no worries, you can add the address when you get it. I thought, wow, that’s super convenient. Nope! When I got my address, mind you, this was prior to getting the boxes delivered to my house for loading, I was told I could not make any adjustments to my reservation, let alone add the destination address. The boxes would ship to AZ, then go to storage where I would have to then set up another delivery of my boxes to my house. Oh and by the way, that will cost more money on the back end, but we will get to that. Also during the reservation, I checked the box for providing empty and full weigh tickets for a flat rate of $100 dollars since this is a military move. Never got those either. I even called the Savannah, GA branch to confirm I had weigh tickets on my account. They said they couldn’t see anything about that, but then they said they would take care of it and I would get my tickets after my boxes were delivered. On the day of delivery of the empty boxes, there was no phone call 2 hours prior. Just a truck showing up and starting to unload. Overall, I had no issues with this as the lady was friendly and good at her job. During my post recipe inspection of the boxes, I discovered many of them were in poor condition. One of them had a side panel coming off and showing sunlight directly into the inside of the box, so I made sure to use that one last incase I didn’t need it, which I didn’t. Two of the boxes had no means to lock the containers at all, so I bought my own hasp to put on to ensure my contents stayed locked. Then comes the day of pickup. I not only had to reschedule my day of pickup to accommodate their schedule, but then I find out no one is coming to get my boxes for the date we agreed upon. The Savannah office supposedly reserved my day, but never built me into the schedule for pickup and everything was full. Eventually we were able to get the driver to come out of her way to come and grab my boxes. 5 boxes picked up the first day, 2 the next since she already picked up one box earlier and the truck can only hold 6. Again, she was extremely professional and easy to work with, working hard to make sure she could pick my stuff up on time (mostly) like was discussed. With all of these date changes, I asked multiple times if my delivery date would change and I was assured it had not. Well, wouldn’t you know it, it changed by two days. Oh yeah, and I still have no weigh tickets even though I was told they would be emailed to me after the delivery of the empty boxes and pickup of the full boxes. So I call, and call, and call. I’m assured I’ll get them and dealt with some extremely unprofessional customer service reps once again in the Savannah, GA branch. So much so I had to hang up before losing my temper with one of them who felt the need to keep repeating herself without listening to what I was saying. Overall, transit of my boxes seemed alright, aside from the fact they arrived to AZ a day late after my date already slid another two days from the schedule change. According to their website, you get reimbursed $50 per day the boxes are late. I never received my $50 back, and to be quite honest, I am so displeased with U-haul as a whole, I won’t even call back to get that $50. Keep it! During my time waiting for my boxes in transit, I reached out to U-haul via the texting service since they provided far more help than the branch. They were extremely useful serving as a middle man to get me the answers I needed. I even got a full weigh ticket from them (even though I supposedly “didn’t pay” *sarcasm*). Then comes setting up delivery. It was a Thursday and they couldn’t be delivered until Monday since the truck comes from Phoenix and only runs Monday through Wednesday. Sure, that’s fine. It’ll cost $350 dollars for that delivery. I again asked to ensure I would have my weigh tickets. Oh yes sir, we will have those for you. Meanwhile, I had the manager from the Savannah, GA branch call me and tell me they dropped the ball on the weigh tickets and they reached out to the AZ branch and all of this would be resolved. It was not resolved. They added another $250 for weigh tickets to my delivery fee, but failed to tell me this. Also, why are they $250 when online it’s a flare rate of $100. I’m told the weigh station is out of the way for the truck. Sounds like not a me problem! So I called the office back and they admitted they failed to mention anything about the cost. After explaining the weigh ticket issue over and over again, I was left with being told I never paid for them and could pay for them now. I asked, if I never paid for them, how did I get a full weigh ticket. The phone went silent for 30 seconds. I asked, ma’am, are you still there. She has no clue what to say other than I still need to pay for them. ABSOLUTELY NOT! At this point, U-haul will get no more money from me. I elected to do self delivery which is free. I’m told I can do two boxes at a time. Sure, let’s do that. Come to find out, they didn’t tell me you need at least a 3500 truck to do two boxes at a time, or you can rent their box truck. NOPE! I’ll do one box at a time with an F-150. 6 boxes later, two days worth of driving back and forth and 130 miles, I am finally unpacked. Oh and those weigh tickets…I drove to a CAT scale with each box for a full and empty weight. 12 weighs total! $80 later in weigh tickets, but I have them. All in all, the Savannah, GA office is at an astounding level of incompetence, even though there were a couple of people who seemed to care and wanted to help. The Yuma, AZ office was extremely helpful and professional as well, I had just had enough of the entire process with U-haul as a whole. The entire thing is poorly planned, and set up online to make it seem like they know exactly what they are doing. I promise you, they do not. The definition of winging it every single day. Save yourself the trouble. Get a truck and drive your stuff yourself. 2/10, would not recommend.

JOSEPH GI was forced to use the Uhaul App to return this after hours. You get strong-armed into downloading the appand creating an account to avoid additional charges. I would not have known about this unless I informed the uhaul rep at the counter. Which all he said was scan the code to complete the return. Well when you scan the code you are directed to the App store. It was easy enough to figure out. This is why I give one star.

GERALD SI needed a pickup ,I was told there wasn't any available, I get there 2 were on the lot ,I rented one ,it wasn't washed it was covered in dead bugs inside wasn't clean,when I picked it up yesterday, the attendant never check everything, today on return I went inside facility where it was cool he was working with another customer and says to me wait out at the truck 109° then 10 minutes later he walks out tells me to go thru this 20 minutes inspection process and I told him this is bullsht, you should of done this when I checked the truck out I could show you it wasn't washed/ clean and if all the lights work tires he took a tire bat to all the tires, checked milage condition inside, and I was upset that this should happen at the time im renting it not just when I return it ,I told him a washed the truck filled it with gas ,he didn't give a dam ,whatta joke

RAMIRO HThe online rental process went smoothly. I reserved the equipment, submitted my information, and chose self-checkout so I could pick up the vehicle before the store opened. When I arrived, the system said no equipment had been set aside and told me to call a number. The representative said everything was fine, but that I would have to wait until the store opened. This completely defeated the purpose of choosing self-checkout. Once the store opened, the experience got worse. The employee, Garcia, whose first name I believe was either Alonso or Alfonso, ignored my friend and me when we greeted him. I apologize for not remembering his full name. His attitude felt cold and dismissive. After giving us the keys, he didn’t explain where the vehicle was. When we asked, he told us to keep clicking the lock and unlock buttons on the remote until we figured it out. That felt unhelpful and unprofessional. In the end, I got the equipment I needed, and it was in good condition. But the overall experience was frustrating. The poor communication, lack of support, and unwelcoming attitude left a bad impression. If I had known I would need to wait for the store to open anyway, I would have planned differently. I expected better from a company that advertises convenience and customer service.

JOHN RWell, I have never been so inconvenienced in my life. First, The truck I reserved wasn’t there after I drove from Brawley, Ca to pick it up at 7 am. Waited till 10am got the truck and drove back after waiting an hour to do an offline contract. Then the next morning as I’m beginning my drive to Texas I get a call saying my payment didn’t go through. So I call my bank and find out the guy who did my contract put the expiration date of my card wrong. Tried to handle it over the phone and the dude is rude and unhelpful. Have to go by the office to fix it. Wait another hour because no one there knows what to do or how to remedy the card issue. This location literally robbed me of at least 4 hours of my life. Never again will I use U-Haul.

LESLIE TThe car dolly does not fit camaros. You tell them what you are using it for, they let you rent it, and you find out when you try to get your car on it that your car doesn't fit. They still take your money even though you couldn't use it.

Turns out I scan, then I had to download the app. Which I wouldn't have mind, but then it doesn't work. Try signing up and that didn't work. Tried as a guess and nothing. Had to make a call to report it dropped off. Wasted time trying figure it out. The service was excellent and equipment was great.

KEVIN V- Ensure that equipment (like auto trailers) isn’t in need of repairs at the time of pickup. I lost nearly 45 minutes due to this issue and various staff members were rude/dismissive about it. - Thoroughly explain to the customer that they cannot pick up an auto trailer with a personally owned truck BEFORE they take the time to come pick it up. - Appoint more than one staff member for the inside desk. Everytime I came in, I was forced to wait until the employee got off the phone.
