BERTRAM WU-Haul really should upgrade their 6'x12' enclosed trailers with tongue jacks. These trailers are too heavy to lift without significant risk of injury to staff and/or customers.
LARRY GThe ramp falls out when you pull it (driver side) Trailer was put away but NEVER checked in. I got an email stating that I never returned it. I had to drive to the U-Haul center and the worker couldn’t find it. I was able to find it in the very furthest parking spot from the building. If U-Haul wasn’t cheaper than the competition I would go elsewhere.

ben a | Overall ExperienceYour “guaranteed” date should not come with multiple changes against the customer’s wishes. I had to call numerous times just to get my items a day late, had I done nothing it would have been a week late. Simply unacceptable. If you cannot guarantee a date, don’t.
Logan THave someone do a solid road drive. Some families aren't as honest about mechanical issues. I advise you get the tie rods looked at for my previous rental. The vehicle is close to its service interval for that if I'm not mistaken. Other than that, FAST service. AMAZING ABOVE EXCELLENT team. AMAZING ABOVE EXCELLENT General Manager. CLEAN AND IT SMELLED GOOD IN THE CAB Vehicle. CLEAN AS HECK in the back.

And they put in a gallon and half of gasto dick me out of another 10 dallors. Last time I rented . Had 3 o clock pickup. It trailer was broken. Took over 2 hours to get another one. It made me late. Had to rent it an extra day. Yuk yuk.

STEPHANIE G | Overall ExperienceThis is going to be a long one! I feel like customer service via phone support was great! They were all very kind, I called multiple times throughout this whole experience. I initially agreed to do a trailer to Hayward got a $625 credit! I was so excited! They then texted me I had to pick it up elsewhere but they would put the credit to $675 which would be great. The day before I was set to head out they messaged me again stating it won’t be ready until the next day. I had already had my plans and movers booked therefore this wasn’t feasible. I had been super flexible and was looking forward to the credit to then have to cancel. Not ideal. This was a huge bummer to be quite honest. They did give me and extra day and 300 miles but I would’ve rather had the credit. The place was super busy when I arrived. We waited a long time to get seen. I asked the guy to rent blankets but forgot. I also bought a dish kit and he didn’t know it came with a box. Thankfully my friend previously bought it and knew it came with one. He didn’t give me a tour of the truck or how anything works. I’ve never driven a U-Haul and didn’t know anything or what to expect. I think proper education is needed. (I rented a camper van in New Zealand and they went over everything with us) I honestly expected the same and didn’t get it. He just pointed where the truck was and didn’t seem to know too much. Kinda frustrating. On top of all this they didn’t have the truck I wanted in camas so we had to drive 20 minutes to Vancouver and the gas was already on E. I got a $27 credit which I don’t think was worth it. I had to drive it 20 minutes back. I had movers booked for two hours through U-Haul and they just stood next to the truck which is fine but I thought they would come up. They finished in an hour and I paid the 2 hours. I thought I would get refunded for the hour and didn’t. If they took 3 hours I know they would’ve billed me for that extra hour. The movers were nice and efficient. (I did notice later some nicks in the furniture) The truck was fine. Like I said no one properly educated me on the truck. I stopped for gas and couldn’t get the truck started. I was stuck there for 20 minutes panicking. The attendant finally came over and turned my steering wheel more and it turned on. Additionally getting the key in and out was also difficult. Not sure if all these things could have been helped if I was properly educated on the truck. The windshield wiper on the driver side needed to be replaced. Of course if downpoured a good chunk of the way. That also wasn’t ideal. In the right hand corner it looks like they used sealant to help with leaks but a bunch of water was there when unpacking. I had to clean all of that up in hopes I don’t get charged. All in all this wasn’t a great experience and I’m super hesitant to recommend U-Haul to anyone.
ASHLEY MTrailer almost killed me I had to drive 400 miles with a broken trailer that wasn’t inspected properly. Employee who checked it out to me was disrespectful.

In my hurry, I would have hoped UHual would ask if I was still using it or send an email notifying me of the upcoming bill. I hope I get a refund because they auto charged me for full month again.
IGOR T | Overall ExperienceCommunicate internally! One employee said they would update my reservation extension, but never did and I got called asking how much longer I needed the truck. When I tired to turn it in after hours, the app tells you to scan a barcode, but when you scan your contract, nothing happens. Had to Google it and found to take picture of odometer and fuel gauge and finally found the drop box which was not visible at all! Turned in contract and keys and still got called asking when I was going to turn in truck. I told them I dropped it off last night. Communicate!
GARY FThis location was well run, but similar to my pick up location experience, U-haul again is poorly managed. I went to my scheduled drop off location and they didn’t accept the large size truck that Uhaul gave me because they didn’t find the smaller size truck that I reserved in advance. The original drop off location sent me to a different location that wasn’t open and finally I ended up returning the truck to a third location, which worked. I only drove an extra 25 miles all around town wasting fuel for massive 650. U-haul at the scheduling level is awful.
VINCENT JMy first reservation and storage unit somehow got canceled and then they rented my unit to somebody else. I needed an outdoor unit and I was supposed to get a 10x15 outdoor unit. The day I showed up to move in with the trailer full of stuff after a 20 hour drive I found out my unit was sold. Then a week later I got an indoor unit same size. And then there was issues with my unit after I paid for it get the card to swipe in. Somebody somehow right after I moved in Moved me right back out the next day. So pretty much the same issue happened two times in a row at the same location. I understand that sometimes things just happen but it's strange how it happened to me two times. But still a very clean place I really like to back in garage with the garage door to help keep the rain and wind out while you're offloading your vehicle into the easy access elevators.

CHAD AClarify expectations on the professional movers offered with moving services, clarify up front what is the client’s responsibility. For example, the movers I hired to unload expected not to unpack any items packed with the moving blankets.
Melanie HAfter Uhaul messed up my reservation and sent me to a different location, I had to wait behind 14 people for over an hour. The location itself was an hour out of the way. By the time I received my cargo, I was an hour late when I started out an hour early. Uhauls response is to “look into it” while there was no discount for the major inconvenience. They need to realize there is a trickle down effect and their lack of coordination cost me and many other clients time and money. Very dissatisfied with the customer service and will most likely avoid them in the future.

I did wait for about 40 minutes in line to return the borrowed truck, and the (again, kind and patient) employee apologized profusely saying I hadn't needed to wait. If there was something posted, or like an "returns only" line, it might help with some line management.

CHERI HI stopped by prior to picking up the 5 x 8 trailer that I was renting. I was working with some very tight dimensions & needed to actually measure the trailer door to make sure that an over-sized queen mattress would fit into the trailer size. I was 4th in line, & the staff was working as hard as they could to accommodate everyone. I had interactions with both Bob & Jacob & they were both friendly, helpful, & a great source of info! WhiIe no one likes to have to wait, I understand that there has to be a small crew because of all the lulls in activity throughout a day. At least once they were available, Bob & Jacob were excellent to work with!! Thank you!

KENNETH KThe trailer has oil/grease overspray all over the front end from a previous rental but other than that the trailer worked well. Pick-up and return went quickly as I had checked in online prior to arrival.
David DThe equipment inventory system was completely screwed up. The tow dolly I had rented was not available on site. There was a tow dolly on site that was not recorded in the system. Eventually, that was the one that was rented to me, but the interventions required by your systems team to fix the screw up delayed me by probably an hour and a half. That should never have happened, and when it did happen, your systems should have a way to quickly handle the problem. By the way, the gentleman who helped me and handled the problem in the store was excellent, and tireless in pushing this through to resolution. There was another system problem. Online, I bought and paid for hitch parts that I was to pick up at the time of rental. Your system had no record of that purchase, so I had to buy another one. Supposedly, I will be credited for the cost of the first one which was never delivered to me, but I have not yet seen that credit on my statement. UHaul needs a complete systems audit and review, because you have significant problems that adversely affect the customer experience.
