Trailer was completely dirty. Couldn’t re shut the door without vacuuming after the first open because of the level of trash blocking door.

SUSAN AMy order was supposed to have a utility hand truck and a furniture dolly with the truck when I picked it up. This location didn't have either one available when I arrived. I had to purchase a hand truck at this location for $75.00. The pickup was scheduled at 7:30am and the movers were coming at 9am. This didn't leave me time to find a hand truck or furniture dolly. U-Haul needs to provide what they say or at least notify people days in advance to make arrangements for other rental options.

Audrey FWhen checking out the truck my service was poor. I was told computer had been down but my assistant did not seem to know what she was doing and had to get her mother to actually help finish the process.
JO AWe were told delivery would be made on Wednesday 3/5 in the morning so we arranged to have helpers available at that time. We received a call on Wednesday that the driver was unable to deliver that day, but we would have our containers the following day before noon. They did not arrive until 2:30 in the afternoon. We were told that the containers would be picked up between 1 and 3 pm in the afternoon on 3/10. At 9:30 am my husband heard a beep and realized one of the containers had been taken and the other was in the process of being moved. Since we had not completed putting our things in them, we requested that the driver wait about 30 minutes to take the second container. My husband also went and made sure he had placed our lock on the container that she had already taken. We then had to rush about to strip the beds and bag up the bedding and other items that needed to be put into the box. This was very stressful and we were not happy about that at all. If we knew that they were coming early, we would have been prepared. If my husband had not heard the backup beep, our containers would have been removed without locks and without bedding and towels and other items that we still had in the condo, We had to leave some thing there because we just could not get them in the box she had not loaded on the truck. Mary JMy wife and I flew from Massachusetts to Wilmington, NC to help our daughter move. We went online to check if the store on Market Street had 10 foot trucks available and it was confirmed online there were 3 available. When we arrived at the store we were greeted by a very unpleasant and soft-spoken young women. We had a brief belabored conversation and my wife said, "there are 3 10 foot trucks listed online". The saleswomen said, 'Oh there it is". She never told us that the store didn't have any 10' trucks, and that we would have to rent a larger 16' truck. When we went out to start the truck we realized she charged us for the larger truck, because we didn't have time to look at other locations and we would have had to pay for an UBER to go to any other location we didn't have a better option. I wish we had been offered the larger truck at the smaller rate, because the store falsely informed us of its truck inventory, and the saleswomen was not very clear what we were renting. We had to drive one way from NC to MA and when we returned the truck in MA, I was surprised to know that we had a mileage limit. The young women never explained if we went over mileage that we would be charged. I would say the young women that helped us needs some more training. She needs to know that treating her customers the way she would want to be treated will add value to her as an employee and add value to your store. Speaking from past experience with U-Haul Chicopee, MA, the employees are so pleasant, and I welcome using their location. We should have read more reviews about this particular U-Haul store and read the rating, I'll know next time the reviews will make my experience more pleasant.
ANDREW BI rented a truck to pickup a fridge I purchased (it was second hand, so I had to pick it up myself). I reserved an appliance dolly along with the truck rental because I didn't have help moving this. When I picked up the truck, there was no dolly. I asked the girl inside and she said they have none because "they can't keep track of them" - I'm not sure why I was able to reserve a dolly online if it's not a tracked inventory item. Because of this, I wasn't able to move the fridge as planned and returned the truck without accomplishing my goal. The $60 was completely wasted. I'm out money and still have no fridge.

RONALD FThis is not for the posters neck location. They saved me after once again uhaul dripped the ball. My reservation was for Sunday at 8am with a phone mobile pi mup. After 45 mins on the phone and being transfered several times I was informed the location was not a mobile pick up. This put me several hours behind and was paying loaders without a truck. I want a refund.

The truck was clean and drop off was easy, maybe to easy since Im still waiting (3 days later) for my uhaul receipt to show what was refunded after drop off. I attribute that with the less than friendly customer service I received.

TAMMY GThe young lady at the desk was incredibly rude and would not speak over a whisper. I asked her at one point if she was ok because her demeanor was so bizarre. The building was very clean and organized. Had every imaginable item you may need for a move and prices were good.

STEVE BContainers were supposed to be delivered between one and three and they arrived sometime after midnight that morning, they were not in the correct spots because they were not delivered at the right time. Also, they were supposed to bring bolt cutters to cut the locks off and because they were delivered prior to when they were scheduled I wasn’t there to make sure that was done. I was given no notification that they were arriving much earlier than the scheduled. Also having to pay a full months rent for only three day usage is unacceptable
Tammy CMy experience with the porter's neck uhaul store has been a problem from the beginning. there has been issue after issue and when i would call that office no one ever answered!! when I went to the location and needed storage, I was told by the guy that runs the warehouse, that i could purchase two boxes for $75 or one for $30. I only needed one, so since no one was in the store, he said he would mark it down we only needed one. I assumed i was supposed to be paying $30 a month since i never got a bill or a notice or a call. My daughter was getting texts even though my paperwork has my number. I got a call two days after i dropped off my rental uhaul asking me when I was going to return the truck!!!??? I left the keys in the drop off box and went and told the guy from the warehouse that i did that. Most recently when i called, i spoke with a Dianne who over spoke me and interrupted me and she did not have a pleasant tone. When i saw how much your charging, I was shocked!! I told her that i have not received a bill in the mail, or on the internet. So she verified you have the correct email, but when i told her what my address here in Wilmington, she said that is not what she has and of course can't tell me. So i definitely didn't get any bills in the mail! She said i should speak with a manager at the porter's neck location. She put me on hold, and tried to call them, and she didn't get an answer either. So, i was going to make a payment of $100 online, but your website does not allow me to make partial payments. Whenever i called about anything, no one mentioned a bill balance to me either. I didn't know the rent was $79 a month and i have no idea how they have the wrong address, but i feel i should have this charge adjusted. please have someone who is in charge from the porters neck location get in touch with me so we can discuss this, i would greatly appreciate it. PATRICIA CThe only issue I had throughout the whole process was being bounced around from person to person when I needed to reschedule my drop off time. I was transferred to 4 different people before I was finally able to make the update. Other than that my experience was excellent!

Ryan KRequested moving past, but not even available at that location. Was charged for extra 3 gallons of fuel, but we replenished to original level before returning truck. Had to dispute the extra charge & getting a refund - but the inconvenience & aggravation is poor practice.

DAVID BGood Experience overall however if you are given 30 days from time of drop off u should get 30..if it Falls on a weekend then the following monday the should be picked up without penalty. That was not made aware to me so I only had 27 days
JOHNDAVID MThe only issue I had with my order was being charged another month storage fees after returning my 3 pods. The customer service from trying to get any answer has been poor and after multiple attempts they only decided to refund a single container holding fee.

Clare RJosh McCoy was very professional, knowledgeable & courteous. Upon my arrival, I was less than a cordial customer because I learned that the rental would more money that expected. I initially went through your website to browse & reserve a cargo van. In my opinion, the information was rather misleading. However, I was most impressed with Mr. McCoy's ability to continue with courtesy, decorum & tact. Overall, everything worked out & I was on my way; therefore, I will be a continued customer as the need arrises. However, if asked by other person(s) I will let them know to probably expect the total price of a rental via online is most likely just general information. The return of the vehicle was wonderfully simple. The cargo van was comfortable to ride/drive & it was clean. I was never able to figure out how to use the cruise control. The vehicle manual was still wrapped in cellophane & I didn't want to open it in fear that I might get it soiled.
CONNIE HThere were holes in the roof of the equipment that caused the ruin of two area rugs and damage to a significant number of boxes that required me to unpack in the garage, totally disrupting the move and creating chaos with any organization. I will NEVER RENT from UHaul again. It was clear you would take zero responsibility for your poorly maintained equipment.
sandra cThe U-box arrived 2 days late, after no contact or notice from uhaul. The app simply updated from Tuesday to Thursday. We had to reach out to them to get any sort of detail. Then the box arrived 4 days late to the new location, again only receiving notice through vague texts after 9 pm, in which we had to call the next day for literally any details beyond "your box is late". The app also refused to update or give any useful information after 2 days of the 13 day process
Grant GHave the U-haul associate explain the important details. AND make it a requirement to see if the truck is in running condition before just handing it to the customer. Safety hazard.

Chris GWindshield wiper blade on driver's side was literally falling apart. Driver's seat was stuck in one position, would not adjust. Tractor-trailer trucks constantly obstructing the entrance and exit to this location.
John OMy appointment was for 10 am. No one showed up until 10:20. Once the server showed up he was very nice and helpful and I finally got the truck I requested. They need to get their act together for service.

MARK CThe experience that I had at this location was horrific. First, we had the reservation set for 8:30 am (as it allowed you to complete a mobile pick up online), but were unable to pick up the truck until they open at 9! Great! So we wait 30 minutes, go inside, and pick up the keys. The truck that we received had the “check engine” light on, but luckily didn’t have issues while driving. But hold on! We have to wait another 20 minutes after receiving their keys because a 52ft trailer is trying to back in from Market Street at 9:00 am, blocking traffic, and blocking us from getting out. This 10 minute pick up turned into a hour long chaotic shit show that I would never wish on my worst enemy.
JAKE DNo access to after hours drop box. We left key in locked cab now told they don’t have another key and now charging for a locksmith. Engine light on. Ramp not fully secured. Not happy with location at all.

ROLAND DJohn McCoy was nothing but rude. They didn't prioritize customers that were waiting in the office. He was only concerned with loading trucks. I went three days in a row and waited a total of 4 hours - about half an hour the first day before getting sent home without access to the Ubox because I had to give 24 hours notice which I understand but the twenty minutes it took before anyone even came in the office was ridiculous, two hours the next day where I went home because McCoy was working on loading trucks and told me he had no idea when he would have my box ready and I had to leave for work, and then an hour and a half today. I asked yesterday when he said I could come back the next day that if I came at nine it would be ready which he said yes. IT WAS NOT. I had to wait 1.5 hours before having to go pick a friend up which is when I discovered there was a box next to my car. I asked the lady who also was working if she knew when my box would be ready and she said in a confused way "He hasn't been communicating with you?" I than asked if the box next to my car was mine because it wasn't there earlier and she said she would go check. It was my box BUT NO ONE HAD TOLD ME IT WAS READY! I was waiting in the office wasting more of my time. Than I rented a cargo van from them and the lady said I would be able to pull up next to where McCoy had put my box and she said I would be able to, so I did but there was a semi getting loaded up next to me and I was asked to move. When I did I had to squeeze by the semi and ended up having to go through the sand which when I did McCoy started to yell at me no no no. But I had no other way of getting out and he told me to move. Than he was mad and started walking to where I parked the van and stood outside it towards the rear with the lady who had been working and started to loudly cuss me out dropping words such as motherf**er, f*king, stupid and so on. Right outside of the van where we could easily hear him. This wasn't the only time he had cussed about people because while I was waiting for him to get my box out he was answering phone calls and helping those people and when he would put them on hold he would talk about how it wasn't his f-ing problem. I would NOT recommend going through this U-haul. I'm not the only customer that had to wait for long periods of time, EVERY customer that came in had to wait an obnoxious amount of time to even be greeted.

Kevin LThe location was a giant mudpit. I understand we have had a great deal of rain, but I had to navigate giant puddles, there was mud ever where, the entire site is not well maintained. I thought I was renting equipment in a 3rd world nation. The trailer I rented still had debris from the previous renter in it. The counter person was pleasant.
KEVIN LMake sure vehicle are up to par. Drop off of the Rental went well. The vehicle was not the best. The alignment of vehicle was very poor. Had vibration at highway speed and had a very bad exhaust rattle. The ac would cut in and out at times.

kristen hThe “pick up my truck” icon was no where to be found. I was suppose to get the truck at 8 am. Since I wasn’t able to click on pick up my truck, the Keyes were not left in the truck. Since it was a Sunday and the store didn’t open h til 9, I had to wait for an hour for the associate to open the store. She was not friendly and was quite cold. She offered no help or apology for the fact that the truck wasn’t ready. Not happy at all.
Jennifer WWay too much equipment in the area for the space available. Three tractor trailers were lined up blocking entrance who were picking up or dropping off storage containers. The front and sides of store were flooded from recent rains. No clear entrance into the building. The bright spot was the lady behind the desk was terrific. She was very helpful and professional. No space for returning the auto transport as well and I had to guess at where to park it. If you don’t believe me you should try renting from this location yourself. I would not rent from that location again.
Darryl PDid not properly check the equipment in even after I took the time to call U-Haul. Emailed me and told me I had not returned the equipment 4 days later. People absolutely do not care anymore. Quality, efficiency and personal service are non-existent. The drop off location was a confusing dump of a location. No one was there at 7:15am. Terrible way to run a business.
mark pIt is very difficult to get to currently if you are traveling South on 17, and once you get there its hard to find the door, the parking lot is under construction with no rhyme or reason to where or how the trucks are parked. In all, this location is a mess outside, but the online service is easy to use and hard to beat. I would recommend this service, but not this location.
Samantha M1. The office hours online do not match the hours posted on the door window on an 8.5x 11 piece of paper. 2. The manager (Josh) was rude. He had a mouth full of chewing tobacco and was spitting freely in the parking lot. 3. The parking lot is nasty, dirty and very unsanitary. There was garbage everywhere. 4. The truck I rented and was told the day before would be at this Uhaul location was not at this location.

Anna MThis place is horrible first we’re u lock it it’s held by one screw second they lie and treat u like nothing my gate did not work for 7 months strait and I complained and all they would say is we will take care of it and never did then to top it off even after all the negative crap they come and tell me that all of my stuff had to be out by the 17 of June with no care in the world as far as we’re my stuff would go now that they surprise u with a kick out and the excuse is we are destroying the storage units just a horrible experience I would never use uhaul again in my life

It appeared to come from under the wall of a neighboring unit. Later when we over a month later when we came to get our things again there was standing water. There was evidence that water had been there for a while. Black mold was evident up more than 2 two inches up any wooden pieces. Granted it was isolated to the back five 5 feet of the unit. We reported it and were told that we have take pictures and file a damage claim. Which do plan on filing. I thought that one of them would have come and looked at the water to see for themselves how it got in or where it came from in the first place.
