CAMILLE HMake sure the trucks are maintained before putting the customer on the road, and it break down. Please watch your mileage because you may not used the amount you put down at the beginning of the rental.
BRENDA JI rented a U-Box for transport from San Bernardino, California to Tennessee. On January 2, a third-party moving company picked up and loaded all belongings and delivered the container to the U-Haul facility as instructed. Less than six hours later, at approximately 11:29 PM, the U-Box was broken into and the majority of its contents were stolen. I was explicitly told that the U-Box would be stored inside a warehouse. Instead, it was left outside overnight, unsecured, during rainy conditions. This deviation from what was promised directly contributed to the theft. The location manager, Miguel, has refused to take responsibility, stating this was merely a “criminal act” and therefore not U-Haul’s responsibility. I find this response unacceptable for several reasons: The container was not stored inside as promised. The theft occurred while the U-Box was in U-Haul’s exclusive possession. I was informed that insurance could be added at any time prior to transport, yet the container had been at the facility for less than six hours. Miguel advised the insurance provider that the forklift driver had already gone home, which he cited as the reason the container was not moved inside. This is especially troubling, as I had requested a later pickup time and was told it had to be early so the container could be returned before closing — which it was. I have filed a police report with the San Bernardino Police Department. Miguel acknowledged that video surveillance exists but will only release it to law enforcement or an insurance provider. Unfortunately, I have been unable to obtain a callback from the police department, and the insurance company U-Haul referred me to refuses to review the claim solely because I did not purchase additional coverage. I find it extremely difficult to believe that U-Haul carries no insurance on its own facilities or accepts no responsibility for theft that occurs while customer property is in its care. Additionally, after informing staff that one box containing irreplaceable photos and mementos was particularly upsetting, that exact box mysteriously reappeared approximately an hour later. I find this highly concerning and worthy of further review. To date, I have had to call 1-800-U-HAUL simply to get Miguel to return my call. I requested to speak with his manager, but I have yet to receive any contact. This U-Box contained nearly everything my daughter owns, including her medical school textbooks, as she was relocating from California back to Tennessee. The lack of accountability, communication, and care shown by the San Bernardino facility is inexcusable.
Rachel CMy poor experience is based on issues with the uhaul app and after hours pickup. Ive had trouble with the app every time I've tried to use it. Took over two hours including an online chat that was no help and two phone calls. The last call was over 45 minutes but finally got me access to the truck I had reserved a few minutes before 10:00 pm. I lost valuable time trying to deal with this aggravating situation.... 😒

Andrew TWhen I received notice that the initial delivery date for my stored containers was to be delayed by a week I asked for assistance getting an associated company to deliver and unload the pods. All Hands Moving was recommended and contracted by a U-Haul representative (Kyle). I was very, very dissatisfied with that company. Immediately on arrival the man in charge tried to sell me a couch. I saw one small box removed from the pod & tossed into a ditch by the worker. Several furniture pieces were unwrapped from the moving blankets by the workers & badly scratched. Then they repeatedly tried to solicit $626 "additional charges" from me through 'cash or money order". The general behavior of these people was intimidating and unprofessional. The only good thing I can say about them is they did get my belongings to me days earlier than U-Haul had promised. But at a cost of discomfort to myself and damage to several items of furniture that were totally unnecessary. I sincerely hope All Hands Moving gets no further referrals from your company.

RICHARD RThe truck was clean, however it did not handle as well as I expected at posted highway speeds, weather the truck was loaded or not. Wheel alignment and steering wheel needs proper adjustment and tightening. The staff at this location was respectful, informative and friendly.

He was also helping another customer who was an elderly man having trouble with the technical parts of checking out. He was very kind and helpful to that customer too. In comparison to what I see in all kinds of businesses these days, his kind and professional handling of everything stood out as exceptional, noteworthy, and impressive.

RICARDO Gthe trailer hitch on the pick up truck is TOO high to work correctly with your 5 by 8 trailers the trailer sits TOO high in the front in relationship to the rear the item that I was moving weighted 500 lbs and was the size of a washing machine . because of the trailer angle it was too hard for 2 people to push it to the front of the trailer and NOT roll backwards before we could strap it down. I wounld getting a 3th person to help but nice store and helpfull and friendly people . store clean would rent from here again but not a pick up with a trailer

YOGESH HStaff is VERY friendly and Professional. I was about halfway between the front door and counter and was already welcomed by the counter staff. We finished the paperwork and as I went to my vehicle, Marvin and his helper were already connecting my trailer. They did a thorough safety check, I took my photos, and I was on my way. I use this location rather than a closer office because the staff here is AWESOME and they let me know that my business is appreciated!!!

KIM HMark was outstanding! He spoke with me about the check in and check out process, he was friendly, smiled, and make the experience personable. It was such a pleasure speaking with and meeting him. There were two other individuals I'd like to point out, to ensure service expectations for other customers are met and/or exceeded in the future. When I arrived, there was a woman of color (I believe Asian or Latina) who was behind the counter. She was assisting another customer and seemed really irritated. She did not acknowledge me and continued to practically ignore the woman in front of me. That's when Mark stepped in. He assisted me with checking in and called one of the porters to pick out the truck I rented and had it running outside and ready to go. When I came back, the woman of color was still at the front. She did not say hello, ask about my experience, or ask anything. She simply stared at me. I told her I was there to return the truck. Because I had purchased some boxes and tape online and wasn't sure of the quantity, I was asking her if she could print the details off, so I could go home with the items. She asked me to wait a moment for her to wrap up with the customer. As she was saying this, one of the Porters - a Black man with loccs - came into the lobby. He asked if I needed assistance w/anything. I said yes, I am waiting for the woman behind the counter. He told me that for check out, I could "just leave the keys in the truck and park it outside." I again explained I was waiting for the woman behind the counter. The woman behind the counter proceeded to walk off, with the customer, so I stood there waiting, and the Porter was seated behind the front desk. He began to speak as if I didn't hear him the first time. He again, repeated how I could handle the checkout process. I walked to him and explained that although I had heard him the first time, I was waiting for the woman to come back. He asked what I needed help with. i told him I made a purchase of the items online and needed them printed, because I was not sure what the quantity was. He said, "ok, and if you made a purchase, you're welcome to those items." He was speaking to me in a condescending tone as if I was the issue, I was misunderstanding him and wasn't already acknowledging I was waiting for a print off of the items. The woman returned. She did exactly what I asked her to do - printed the items so I could take them to my car. That's literally all I needed, and the Black man made it seem like I was somehow misunderstanding and inconveniencing him. He could have simply printed the items but chose to repeat himself and speak to me in a condescending manner. That's completely unacceptable, and it makes the store look bad. Please work closely with those two individuals to make sure they do better on their customer service skills. Thanks.

RICHARD RI picked up my truck with a quarter tank of gas thank goodness I did hadn't got my trailer which after my third move was the first time anyone has ever asked me if I wanted to come back and pick up my trailer after I've packed my truck which was great. However I travel to the gas station to fill up my quarter tank of gas to full before packing it only to find out that the battery was dead after turning off the car I couldn't get it to start again. I understand this happens sometimes but with a simple voltage meter you could check the batteries on the trucks before you release them out especially for cross-country drives. The most frustrating part about it is that your app is absolutely terrible and it took me an hour and a half to get someone on their way for roadside assistance I couldn't schedule it in the app so I had to do it over chat and I never got a response so I had to sit on hold. The person who came to answer my roadside assistance call was very nice and brought me a fresh battery for my road trip so I was really happy about that.

Lisa EMy location I rented from (Hendersonville) was transferred to this Madison location. The gentleman working was friendly but did not have a clue what he was doing. We were there for almost an hour before even getting to load the vehicle. It seemed no one knew what they were doing and they could not even scan items we were purchasing. It was a mess and super frustrating and time consuming for no reason.
EDGARS DNothing I can see. Your manager Mr. Perry has assembled a great team who all pitch in as needed and go above and beyond. All of them provided excellent customer service, especially Sheyla V., who made the whole process seamless and pleasant. Great job!

RAMESHBHAI PI got there at 7:02 to return the truck. A male employee said that I would not be charged the twenty dollar after hour charge to scan the code. A female employee refused to show me how it worked. Today I called and was lied to by an employee who said that they refunded the $20.00 and she emailed me confirmation of the refund. No. She did not. She emailed me a copy of the invoice, with the $20.00 still showing. No refund w as s issued. I returned the truck clean and with more gas then required. I want my $20.00 dollars back.
