I had to drive 30 minutes each way to get the trailer in Saco. That added an hours worth of time pay for 2 employees costing me a lot more money. Next time I recommend fixing your equipment before staying it’s available for a week!

RICARDO CI got charged a cleaning fee even though the van was returned in the exact same state as when I rented it. I was also charged $.30/mile more than the last time I rented the exact same van 30 days ago. My cost was $50 more this time. If you aren’t going to properly clean your vehicles then you shouldn’t be charging your customers a cleaning fee. The roads I traveled were not wet, we did not go down any roads that would have put mud on the vehicle and the back of the van was already on the dirty side. Maybe I should have received the checkout link earlier so I could have proved that I was not responsible for the mess the van was.
BRANDY LThe staff/workers there became almost like family..definitely friends as the manager invited me to visit when I'm in area in future...I closed account yesterday after almost 2 and a half years...due to having my home taken from me for no reason..except the new owner/mortgager wanted it..a time of extreme hardship for me and the uhaul people in Saco Maine really helped me..also thankful for clean restrooms..perhaps you might add a shower sometime for those who travel long distances in the heat etc. Another suggestion..maybe u might team up with Tiny Homes to provide shelter for the many homeless in many towns/cities of America..it is a travesty that American citizens have to sleep outdoors or herded in&out of shelters like cattle..peace of Jesus b with you..guardian angels protect you. There was some miscommunication around the return after I requested an extension that was granted (I paid for it) and the staff tried to turn it around on me the next morning, made several false claims against me and then tried to apply pressure on me to return the trailer earlier than we had agreed. It seems like some of the staff could use some time management and customer service (re)training.

CHRIS MIf you charge $4.00 + for gas the truck should be full not less than 1/4 tank. You charge for gas but you don't replenish it. I shouldn't start my day filling your gas tank.
ROBERT Fin-person reservations are pretty simple; phone-based reservations (when you can finally get through) are much more complicated returns are annoyingly slow, often with no apparent reason for the delay. jen is great!

I called the facility and spoke with Lance and asked if we could pay a pro-rated amount as we would be 3 days past the original date. He told me they don't do that but we would be all set and he could waive the fee and we wouldn't have to pay the extra month. Yesterday, we were moving out and when I verified this information with the manager Jen, she told me they can't do what was told to me and that she was never told of the conversation Lance and I had. And that she could waive the "late fee" but I would have to pay for an entire month in order to get our stuff out. The lack of professionalism when I spoke to Lance and Jen was some of the worse I've dealt with. I will NOT be giving business to U-Haul again. And will be glad to spread the word that anything your employees say CAN NOT be trusted. It's too bad, as we have been customers for years, but no longer.

BENI M | First ImpressionsWhen I picked up my truck the system had changed my reservation to a one way truck. This was dealt with by the absolutely lovely people that work at this location. However, the system also failed to keep my 2 day rental and it changed to a 24 hour rental. So on the second day of using this 10 foot truck I rented I got a call from the office saying I’m late to bring it back. This caused a cluster of issues for myself, the workers, and the people who booked the truck after me. U-Haul needs to fix the computer systems and fix the glitches. It is unfair to put a computer problem on the backs of the incredible employees that work at this location and the customers. For the price that has clearly gone up over the years these kinds of technical issues should be resolved so that the stressful day for someone who is moving is not made more stressful by phone calls from U-Haul about uhauls mess up.
RACHEL BRental was great at pick up but drop off was a bad experience. I slipped in the parking lot and the person working was really rude and could have care less. I didn’t get any type of receipt and he barely looked at the paper

THOMAS IOne trailer tire was completely bald with no signs of tread. One other tire was down to the wear bars. This to me was unacceptable and frankly negligent on uhauls part. I did not notice the tires until I was mid trip and could not return the trailer until the job was done. I expect better and expect a trailer in good repair.
ADAM BTruck was a complete joy, brand new (under 5,000 miles on the odometer), which was such a blessing on a trip of over 1000 miles. Smooth ride and we felt very confident that there would be no mechanical issues on the way and of course there weren’t any.

And then I went in to the office and told them that I had moved out, but that the payment had been taken out that morning, I was refused a refund. So I paid a $120 2 days before it was due and it was not refunded. Staff did not even try to help. They just refused me. I did, however, call U-haul and one of the very nice ladies helped me to put a complaint into the district manager. I am hoping this will help. I can't afford to be losing a $120 for nothing..

Sharon L | Overall ExperienceThe only issue I have is that my storage unit went up in price twice to the point where I could no longer afford it, because I live in another town and don't have a vehicle I ended up having to close my account and lose all of my stuff. When I started, it was great, but I wasted a lot of money and ended up losing my stuff in the process. I also got charged $230 or so to my bank right after I had a plan to come get my stuff. All I needed was gas money, but because I was charged, my bank went into the negatives and still is, because of that I could no longer make plans to grab my stuff which in turn made me lose my stuff. My daughters stuff was also in storage, so she lost everything because of this as well. Essentially she lost everything as did I, and now we are $230 or so in debt. That's all we have to show for this. The only positive thing was that they were willing to close my account for free and I didn't have to pay to close it.

One of my Locks was replaced with no explanation, management refused to help or even listen. I had to pay someone out of pocket to remove it. The security alarm goes off all the time and is loud enough to cause hearing damage. I could go on and list all the issues i had with the manager and all the time I wasted dealing with her, but instead I got Jeremy Clarkson to paint a more colorful analogy. “Today, we're talking about U-Haul Self Storage in Saco, Maine, and let me tell you, it's about as impressive as a Yugo.Yes, that's right. U-Haul Self Storage is the Yugo of storage facilities. It promises practicality and convenience but delivers disappointment and frustration at every turn. And the customers? They're as happy as Yugo owners during rush hour traffic. They've had their fees increased unexpectedly, their items misplaced, and their interactions with management resemble a scene from a slapstick comedy. Trying to talk to management here is like trying to start a Yugo on a cold winter morning—it's a futile exercise in frustration. They seem to have mastered the art of disappearing act when customers need them most. So, if you're thinking about storing your belongings here, my advice is: don't. Unless you enjoy the thrill of uncertainty and the comedy of errors that comes with it."

The staff at this store has no knowledge of this, can’t understand why someone would get a prorated amount back and lack the commutation skills to professionally have a conversation with a customer about this concern. How is it a Maine state law that cable services must give you a prorated bill but somehow U-Haul doesn’t? I am still waiting on a callback from this stores manager from August. This store is the most unprofessional location I have visited. Lance, the guy working there yesterday, said he’d share my concern with the manager however since he didn’t make a note or anything I don’t expect that to happen. There is no way to handle this dispute directly with the office since the manager has an obscure schedule as compared to the stores hours and the rest of the staff isn’t equip to handle any situations other than checking your reservation and taking your money.

I couldn't get in earlier and had to unload my units through the pass door when the slider auto locked at 7:00. Having been in the door industry for 30 years you can have them locked from outside and active from inside giving access to anyone with a card and auto lock after passing thru with a cart to the dock. Then with a card could enter thru the pass door open the slider and get the cart in and the slider would close. Instead of people blocking the pass door open all the time they are unloading. Simple adjustment to make everything more secure and more convenient for your customers. Thankyou for your consideration.

I called back, and proceeded to call back everyday following. I was never put in touch with the Saco location and the national distribution center couldn't reach them either. I was not able to confirm that my property was in fact NOT missing until I could go to the storage unit myself on July 9th. At checkout when I brought this up the staff member rolled her eyes and moved on - this issue is not resolved in my mind and spoiled the whole experience.

This error set me back a day in my moving process as I needed the dolly to move appliances. I then spoke with a very kind lady through customer service who agreed that was unfavorable and offered an additional day for free. The very next day I was being harassed by I believe your general manager of maine or something. It was a woman. She actually threatened my wife and I and said she would track us down to return the truck. After this threat we frantically returned the truck to the lot that night. Somehow in your system it says I owe an outstanding balance to you. Even though I have a bank statement as proof that I was charged. I needed a truck for another day so I just went through pensky.

The place is clean and safe but, they need to figure out the management side of things.

I paid a trailer hitch 1 x through corporate, not received in Saco, and 2 x at the Saco office (?credit card machine not working, they never called me back but froze my account). On a better note the storage facility was very clean and secure. We really appreciated that!

There was some miscommunication on the staff/management side, and then very little urgency to correct the issue, which caused scheduling issues for me and the movers I had hired.
