I was greeted when I arrived, things were explained patiently, store was organized, setup of trailer was well explained, and by the time I had backed the trailer back in its spot upon return way out in the parking lot, I was met and assisted by a staff member. Wow!

U-Haul's standard 8am to 3pm window for deliveries and pickups is way too broad, especially for people in the middle of moving. To lock a customer down that long feels like sacrificing the customer's time in exchange for maximizing U-Haul's sloppy scheduling convenience. As for U-Haul's scheduling, at least locally, they are under staffed and not as flexible as implied in picking up and delivering your U-Boxes.

The only major issue I ever had was the keycard that keeps the alarm from sounding. It never worked for me, so I stopped even trying to use it. I went in to the office 3 seperate times saying the key card is programmed to me (as it welcomes me in with my name), but still makes the whole facility alarm.

I had such a Great experience that I already have been recommending to my friends it was so easy to rent and drop off (fast) I pick upped a trailer to haul a jeep that I just purchased. The price for the rental was very reasonable and I’m going to be using them again.

Awesome and convenient location in Santa Maria. After hours drop off available works with the uhal app which makes it easy. Lots of parking for trailers and trucks. Rented a flat bed to tow my car. Friendly staff. Allowed sightly later drop off at no extra cost. Thank you!

I requested to get the UBOX delivered by 4/19.25 but they said that it will be delivered on 4/20/25. It will cost me the one month extra fee starting ​on 4/20/25. It was so suspicious to me. I was so disappointed.​ less than a 5 miles distance.

Fortunately, we ended up at this location. The original location in Nipomo, Ca where we were supposed to pick up the trailer originally never had U-Haul staff available. They weren't even on premises. My day started calling at 10:00 am, no answer. My husband went to the Nipomo site shortly after noon to see if the trailer was available early. There was no U-Haul staff there. Our pickup time was 3:00 pm. When my husband went back there was still nobody available. He was informed that he was at his ranch. That is when we were instructed to go to Santa Maria Way.

Water leak destroyed my belongings! Simple as that! They acknowledged no responsibility for the destruction and just keep on billing me. I deserved my money back! I lost thousands of dollars in belongings to u half poor maintenance and horrible service once I notified them. U haul deserves to be sued!

In Santa Maria to pick up was great the person that helped me was great Mackenzie went in there with me helped out a lot. When I drop the trailer off in Santa Monica on Lincoln Street there was an individual in there a African-American fellow that was very rude I was returning it with a Hispanic man and the other guy just kept budding in and making rude comments.

I had my belongings in the Santa Maria way storage facility after a domestic violence case. I was constantly in communication with them about my situation. Every single person was helpful and understanding. I’m so grateful for the team at Uhaul and all the help they provided during a difficult time. I would recommend them to anyone needing a storage facility. My belongings were secure. The system at Uhaul makes it easy to access your unit without assistance as well. Very happy with my experience here.

I i formed them that the check engine light had come on but that when I refilled gas, the inlet leaked on the side of the truck and onto the ground after the pump had turned off. They were thankful to hear about that and would double check to make sure there were no other issues. Overall great service.

The 1/2 month of rental charge for the month of May should be returned. You as a company charge the rental fee, I feel that 1/2 month should be refunded plus the month of June. Shouldn’t have to wait for a check in the mail, and no confirmation on how much is being returned is disturbing. The parking at the Santa Maria facility is difficult, whether for renting trucks or for the storage. I won’t rent storage from the Santa Maria location again.

I arrived and wasn't sure what to do. Jose happened to be in the parking lot and asked if I needed assistance. I told him I was a new renter and I needed to know what to do. He asked me a couple questions. Walked me thru the entire process, created my UHaul card for entry. Once he created the card he showed me what to do explained everything and answered my questions. This is a wonderful very secure facility that I feel very comfortable in Nice, knowledgable and helpful employees and Jose is the bomb.

Marlon Masangcay was extremely rude to me upon changing units. I downsized to a unit 1111 and he told me I can choose either too. Once I moved to the said unit he yelled and argued with me that I was on my phone and then closed out my unit, then he john doe my new unit that I just moved too! So upon returning to my new unit 1111, they put a john doe hold on it and said nobody signed up for it. He took the time to mishandled my transfer, yell to me about it, and I had to be locked out of my unit. Very unprofessional service, I was in this storage for over one year and paid enough money. If I can get my money back since I transferred that would be nice, no customer service and very rude manager willing to John Doe your unit because you were on your phone. I would like a refund on the entire transaction, extremely unprofessional and rude, he should not be managing that facility. I don't think I paid anything for the smaller unit but $69.95, I did receive one month free and moved out before I was billed again. Terrible experience, please fix your staff.

The staff are helpful, besides one girl at the front desk when I first opened a unit a year ago, For that I left a review on google. There are currently a lot of transient drug addicts that hang around the back bathrooms and on the property who should not be there or have access. The front automatic doors are not locked and open for everyone so this storage location is not secure. I recently seen a Facebook post about a unit that was broken into at that location and had all of his tools stolen which is not hard to believe with lack of security for these units. I would not recommend storing your belongings here for this reason, not to mention I have had wax cleaner flood into my unit, thankfully it did not reach my belongings inside the tubs and it’s also caused my door to become stuck making it impossibly hard to lift up.

The fees to rent a truck were preposterous and absolutely astronomical not to mention misleading on the website as it pertained to gas. It shouldn’t cost me $600 to rent a truck one way! I would have gone a different direction had I had more time. In all the storage was reasonable by the truck rental was regrettable.

Was pleasantly surprised that I could park inside the facility while unloading my vehicle. U-Haul supplies a large hand cart and well-lit corridors to locker area. check in is easy although you need to remember to check out in order to reset locker alarm on your specific unit .

The Female Manager (Judy Castillo) is Non-Responsive to the suggestions of the customers! The facility should be studied for adding a "Rear Access" to aid customers with storage in the far sides of the facility! That female was very unprofessional even after I told her that I'm a US Army Veteran with disabilities! I commend Mr Firoz Bari for listening and offering assistance! Engineers and Safety, OSHA should look at that facility to assist the people with disabilities and give CLOSER access from the rear!!

Very helpful with scheduling. Combining truck rental with the storage is awesome. I’ll use this location for everything now. Was able to change drop off location last minute, and store manager was great and love the large parking lot for the trucks. You should add these to all the old Kmart locations

Santa Maria staff were super accommodating. The Santa Barbara staff and the staff over the phone on UHAUL’s main line were horrendous. So much misinformation and incorrect things. Thank god for Santa Maria’s staff to help fix my problems. I feel safe storing my stuff there, but after the Santa Barbara staff, I am scared of using UHAUL trucks again.

Clerk would not let me run my ATM Mastercard thru the card reader. She entered my card via keyboard, and kept telling me that my card was declined. But she let my friend run HIS card thru the card reader. I called my bank. They told me that if I could of used the card reader, card would not have beem declined. I think she is a crook.

Esteban was very helpful over the phone, as I told him that I was on limite time and assigned an "11_ _" unit right by the drive up bay. Perfect since I recently had surgery and it would facilitate unloading with ease. However, and hour or so later when I arrived, Esteban was helping a customer and a female handed me the card and charged me for the lock. Now she changed the unit and assigned me 6897, far and way in the back [I might be a number off, I don't have the paperwork in front of me]. I asked why if Esteban had already given me a unit by the front, why was she changing it? She didn't reply and proceeded with the transaction. So "Excellent" customer service from Esteban, very DISPLEASED with the female who helped in person!

The front desk agent who initially helped me was absolutely amazing! I was surprised to have such an opposite interaction with the manager of all people. My boyfriend at the time and I were there late one night looking for a paper that we had lost. The entire reason we even got the u it was to start bringing our stuff from our old unit and box by box, search for that paper. I waited for my husband to finish what he was doing in the unit and next thing I knew, I was awoken by the manager telling me I had to leave the property and that I couldn't sleep there. I explained we had a unit and that my husband was in there and when we found him he too was asleep. I understand the company not wanting people living in the units. I assure you, that wasn't what we were trying to do. After a long day at work and moving 3 truck loads to the UHAUL unit along with the stress of needing to find this paper finally took a toll on us. While I waited for him to come put, I fell asleep and while he was looking for the paper, he fell asleep. Because of this, the manager reprimanded us as if we were kids, and took the only reason we got the unit to begin with away- the 24hr access. After proving ourselves she said we could regain that privilege but there was no warning, there was nothing said about anything when we 1st got the unit and when I told her what what happened and that we would be no longer needing the unit if we couldn't have 24hr access, she simply said, "It was up to me to cancel the unit." Onviously our business wasn't needed and I wasn't going to pay for something where we have to treated like children. Well, fast forward 3 months and I receive an email demanding pay. I split up with my boyfriend and was under the impression when I returned I'd be able to get my belongings out of the unit. The demand for pay came before I had returned and when I called to see if I could get my stuff, she told me only he could have access because it was in his name. The contact information was all mine, I had both keys..the 24hr access card and my own key to the unit, and I was on the contract..she still would not let me get my belongings. She said it would be going to auction soon so I asked when that would be. She never replied after me asking about the auction. The last thing I received was a computer generated notice that all of my stuff had been sold. I found this to be unprofessional, unfair, and I'm looking over the laws and from what I see, it was illegal. Further more when we had the unit, the sliding doors to the main building opened even with out the key card. So there wasn't any security other than our lock on the unit and it was always trashed. I know they were still in progress of putting their security system up but if you're going to be open, having clean floors without tools, buckets, heavy equipment, and wires seems like it would be a necessity. It created many hazards for those walking through. The parking lot was always thrashed as well. This was a disappointing experience. On paper, it sounds great. But once you're actually on the premises, it's a nightmare and the manager definitely needs some customer service classes....or maybe just a class on manners.

I thought overall for the cost it was very expensive The only reason I went with it was because of the location of it then when I rented my unit, it was at the front of the store, which made it easy for me to pick up my things, but during the time that I was in the facility, it switched, the location of the front of the store and made it very hard for me to get to my storage unit on top of the fact that I was never notified of a new system that was being in place, which made it more frustrating to get in and out of my unit .

I had arrived 5 minutes before 7 one night as I could not find a ride earlier, the staff member would not allow me 5 minutes to load my items and I ended up having to get a storage unit at another facility because I was leaving town for the summer. Upon returning to my unit 6 weeks later I found that I had been moved out of my unit, even though I was paid up. I also found that there was a card required to enter the facility which I had not been notified of. The manager of the facility gave me a free month for the misunderstanding and also gave me a card to enter the facility. Which was appreciated. The card was still under someone else’s name when it was given to me and eventually no longer worked so I needed to get it reset under my name. Additionally, when I was moved out of the unit, the unit was removed from my uhaul account so I was unable to make automatic payments or make any payments for that unit online. Overall, none of these events were big deals but all of them together did make the experience a 5 star.

Jillian, i think that was her name, was super rude to my wife and I. This was after telling her that Judy had called us to come in and fix an issue with our unit. Jillian raised her voice at us and did not believe us that we had a unit at that facility. It honestly is making me want to cancel my rental and go somewhere else because of how unprofessional Jillian was and is.

Service was the best!! Facilities are pretty new but there was a lot of trash, they need trash cans in and outside the facility.

The facility itself was fine, however, the customer service at the FACILITY was lacking. I have asked to speak to the manager several times and left my number with no return call. I walked in and cleared out my storage and checked out in person. The next month I was charged a fee again. I called no returned call from the manager. I did receive a letter from Judy the manager with a late fee and charges for the entire month of July even though I formally check out on July 12th. I would not recommend this facility to anyone because of the poor management. I do want to note that the staff was very kind and helpful. Reuben ultimately was a great help!

My move took longer than anticipated that anticipated due to not having enough help so I was so thankful for the convenience of the one way drop off and months free storage.. Everyone was very understanding and accommodating I will definitely use and recommend you all At u-haul again!

I wish someone had told me they were inside storage. Also the doors were very inconvenient having to swipe the card every time you had to walk through. It was way to time consuming to use as a storage.

I made my reservation for my storage unit and truck online. That was very user-friendly and very convenient. However, a few days after I made my reservation for a specific location, I received a text message and an email saying that my reservation was confirmed for a different city a pretty far distance from my local city. So I had to call and get this fixed. Then, when I showed up at the facility the morning of my move, it took almost an hour for the entire process to check in because of so many errors or lack of knowledge by the office staff (there is one female named Tia and two males at the front desk and only Tia know what she was doing). And I was not the only person that had problems with their reservation that morning. Then I went over to check out my unit and there was a lock on it. I called the office and asked them to come remove the lock but nobody came, so I left in hopes that it would be gone by the time I returned with all my items. 4 hours later the lock was still on my unit. Then when the guy finally came over to remove the lock and he opened it, the unit was significantly smaller than what I had reserved, I reserved and 8x10 and this unit was maybe a 5x10 if that. But they were adamant but it was the correct size. So then I had to return to the office yet again and request a larger unit. Now I'm looking forward to paying the huge increase in the cost for two feet! In all, I've used U-Haul numerous times in my life and I've never run into as many problems as I did this time around. Your company has been around a very long time and unprofessionalism and disorganization of this experience really put a bad taste in my mouth. It's a total bummer!

There was supposed to be a free lock in the unit when I arrived. It was not in the unit. My unit is the farthest away from the office and I had to walk all the way over there to get a lock. I'm disabled, and it's difficult for me to walk that far.

nightmare rental.... promised to credit for all the issues and damage to car due to tow dolly not compatible to awd car. I asked if I could bring car on dolly and leave moving truck due to probs and being left on side of road for 8 hours and was told no. when i arrived i was told i Could have but it was too late. Car an hour away.. While on way to location called like instructed to have things ready. When I arrived they had no idea about my order. following day was told cannot credit.

Great Falls Montana office on 10th Ave S We’re super friendly and helpful I got a great truck 15footer super great power Drove Santa Maria California Super friendly people there too! Cheyenne and Jose were great! I got 1 month storage too!! Great experience with everything And the insurance I paid for was worth the peace of mind 😊. Thank you Uhaul!!!!!!!

The lighting inside at the unit could be a lot better. My unit was extremely difficult to latch closed. The closing hour would have been better at 8 or 9 if other business would support it. (I think it is unreasonable to charge me for an entire month storage when I used ten days. Every other "rental" I have ever had would pro-rate the rental amount.)

Sarah ( Santa Maria) provided excellent customer service given that our storage reservation and trucks were all supposed to be in Santa Barbara. Uhaul experience overall with trucks and storage units was a nightmare in spite of having made reservation months in advance. The end result still had to pay more than originally quoted. They also need to do a better job advertising/communicating basic things like, you need to provide your own lock, at the time storage restorations being made. I would no longer recommend uhaul to anyone.

The facility met my need and staff were helpful and professional. However, I did not intend to use this facility. I had booked a U box in Santa Barbara for June 14 but was told, on June 10th, that UHaul could not fulfill that reservation. My only option was the storage in Santa Maria and truck rental. This cost me about $310 (one month rental, van rentals (twice) and gas) compared to the expected cost of $115 for the u- box. Yes, I was given $50 for the unfulfilled reservation but I was still out $145 and over 4 hours driving.
