The staff is always late to scheduled appointments. Corporate u-haul rescheduled our appt without asking, but they never communicated with the local team so we drove an hour to this appt, only to wait an hour to be helped and told they couldn’t do it (not fully their fault that day). When we finally get to the day that is confirmed, the lady is an hour and a half late. Then, the hitch is installed, but after installation they are unable to do the wiring in our car. Saying after 10 years this has never been a problem but now it is in our vehicle. She gave us the wiring kit and said we’d have to go somewhere else. No where near properly discounted for all of our troubles and then lack of service that was promised. Very frustrated with the entire fiasco and having a hard time finding a body shop that can do the wiring now in the short time frame we have left.

I went thru total hell trying to get this rental. Then I needed to keep it another day, which i called and extended thru the toll free number. The management called and harassed me all that day still. They treated me like a criminal and now they are still trying to extort another 60 bucks out of me! If anything they should have to pay me for the stress they caused me by calling and harassing me several times throughout the 2nd day of the rental. They even threatened me with arrest for stealing the truck! And that's after I extended the rental for the extra 24 hours!

CHESTER WEmployees there are not trained to have the knowledge of what they are doing. I had booked the truck & trailer which I had a confirmation number. All they had to do was pull up the confirmation number & charge my card. They started from scratch changing my reservation & tried to charge me more. They ended up having to call the Manager at home & then she was very unprofessional & unpolite. She accused me of changing the reservation & told me every time I changed something it prolonged the transaction, but it was her employees that messed the whole thing up. Ir took us right at an hour or better to get through this ordeal which caused us to start later in loading the truck with our possessions. My opinion, the Manager needs to spend more time training her employees and she needs a course in dealing with Customers.

ROBERT SThe ratchet mechanism for tying down vehicle need attention. Both straps came completely loose after driving sixty miles. I reinstalled them tightly so they wouldn’t come loose again. Upon arriving at my destination, it took an hour to get straps off. Thought I was going to have to cut them off. The ratchet mechanism needs to be monitored more closely and in some cases such as mine, need to be replaced

JAMES SThe uhaul i rented would not crank the next morning when getting ready to unload the truck and take it back. I bought the roadside assistance and the uhaul was towed to my drop off location. Everyone one the phone with customer service was great. I was even offered a complimentary uhaul since the one we had interfered with my move. So i used it the next day i got done and returned the uhaul only to be charged after i was told it would be of no charge. So now when i call customer service no one seems to remember the conversation. If i had known i would be charged i would not have used a uhaul the second day. Needless to say i am very disappointed.

eddie l | First ImpressionsLoad in area is hard to get to. Especially with a large truck. I had to park almost in the back of the facility. The ramp going into the storage area is very "chunky" and it's hard to get the wheels off any carts or dollys onto. I had to pick up the front and then the back of each load to get them up or they couldn't make it. The access system is HORRID. There are two keypads not next to the door that you have to enter your code on to in order (right side then the left side). The ramp is steep so the cart won't stay so you have to walk to down or block the wheels. Then go over enter the code, then wait for it to verify, then you go enter the code on the second one and 1 out of 3 times it wouldn't work, so you have to go back to the first one. Then after all that, the door swings outwards. So you have to move the cart is you haven't already, block the door which is hard since the tank isn't uniform and the door is pretty beat up. Then is the repeated process for each time you come in and out with a load. The hallways inside are cramped and hard to maneuver around especially with carts. The temperature is kept well and it seemed dry inside. So one plus. The storage rooms are a home at how haphazard they are made. It's more like a crawlspace then a storage unit. There is no light except the one in the hallway which means you have to use a cellphone or flashlight to see anything. I will definitely be out before my free month is up as there is NO WAY this is worth $80+ a month. That's insane. I've been sharing pics with people to show how rough the facility is. Thanks for the free trial but I will not be a regular customer

BRIAN LRemove management from this location and install all new management. I reserved a trailer. they started filling out the paperwork as if I was going to return it to Tupelo. I told them I was going to return it to Justin TX. They said OK, then made a comment about if I returned it prior to the 48 hours I requested they would not refund the extra. I said OK. About 36 hours later I dropped the trailer in Justin. They were in the process of closing so the man there just said I was good to go and he would check the trailer in. After driving in the rain for 2 days I just left. That was Saturday the 28th.Tuesday the 31st I got a call from the Tupelo office saying I hadn't turned in the trailer and it was supposed to be returned to Tupelo. To make a long story short...The trailer they hooked up to my vehicle in Tupelo was not the trailer on the contract. The trailer that they hooked to my vehicle showed as being somewhere in Arkansas. The Tupelo office rented a trailer to someone else, hooked up the trailer they put on my contract, the other trailer was dropped in Arkansas and no one checked to see if it was the right trailer. In the mean while, the trailer they put on the contract that was supposed to end up in Arkansas, is missing. It's going and not been checked in. In order to "fix the problem" with my trailer, the manager at Tupelo changed the number of the trailer on my contract...after the fact...then told the manager in Just that she could check my trailer in now. However, the trailer that was NOW on my contract is in Arkansas on the Uhaul computer system and NOT in Justin. The manager in Tupelo is now trying to foul up the records for a different UHaul office in 2 different states at once. It take real talent to be that destructive to your own company. During all this I had an epiphany. For years I have HATED UHaul. It suddenly occurred to me that EVERY SINGLE TIME I have rented equipment from the Tupelo office they have found up my paperwork. Each and every time for the past 20 or so years. They have been practicing pissing people off for a long time.

The young man didn't check the truck in until the next morning.

DAISY HWhen I rented the unit I was forced to purchase a lock, but I already had the exact same style of lock from another u-haul rental. I was told that if I returned it upon checkout, I would be credited for it. That did not happen, but they did take the lock back from me. I also did not get credit for time left on my rental after I checked out. They only provided me with a sheet of paper saying that I was checked out, no information about status of money owed. I assumed there would be a credit to my credit card but none were ever processed.

I was unable to access my unit after hours due to it being blocked by incoming uhaul trucks. Everything in my unit which was a basic "26 foot uhaul truck bed" without the cab attached to it, was molded. Yes, they offer insurance, band yes I had it, which made my storage $160.00 a month, 2 months prior to my moving out of it, I canceled the insurance and decreased my bill down to $140.00 a month. The 1st month free sounds great, but it still.isnt worth it. One of the most expensive places to rent a storage space, but not as big as other places for the same price. (SHOP AROUND!!!) GO PENSKE!!

Most of the time when I went to box there was either a rent a box, a trailer, or a uhaul truck parked in front of it so I couldn't even access my things. I sent a move out request 3 weeks prior to my payment due date and location staff were too lazy to address it to the point I got late payment notices and had to call and take care of it myself. I would've literally been better off putting my things in a pile and lighting them on fire. Oh, and when i first signed up they did my paperwork wrong and had me listed for a different box that my things were in, and my stuff almost went to auction because they had the box I was actually in registered to a delinquent account. Seriously, just close this place down.

Not allowed to use the padlock I brought, for which the person who was coming for the stored items, had a key. So, I went with the required lock (round) which had a scrollable password I could sent to the retriever of stored items. That device was very clever, but requires moving a lever to be operated to open it. Had to be placed upside down to work. The keyed version would have worked fine with the existing hardware.

There is a very young blonde girl who works there, she claimed that they thought the lady they gave the rental to was the same person because she had the same last name as the account owner(my mom). I purposefully did not book the rental on my account because they have always given me a hard time when having to deal with them. I made a brand new account in my mom’s name since she would be the driver. I read online that my mom would have to provide her driver’s license before they could give her the truck, so them giving the rental to a stranger at a 11am(not 2:30), I knew that they were lying. They just gave the rental away because of it being a rental for me. Like I said, they always have given me a head time and made me uncomfortable on every single occasion. I will never deal with U-Haul ever again. You need to be careful who you hire and make sure they will not discriminate people they are supposed to serve just because of their appearance or sexuality.

Its inconvenient to never be able to access ur unit because the parking lot is so small and awkward and junked up.
