Your people tried to be helpful, but your system is really messed up. Started by messing up my original order and it just went downhill from there. Several times I had customer service reps say they would call right back with the requested information and flat out never called back. I could go on but the bottom line is I will never recommend U-Haul again.

However my reservation was changed and I was not informed of the change so I had to drive across town to this location to pickup my trailer in rush hour traffic. That was very poor service, no fault of the staff at this location, but I never received notification of the pickup change, so I wasted an hour, after a two hour drive to pickup the trailer.

ALVIN BMy storage inside storage area was filled with mice and mouse droppings. They ate a whole in an expensive wool rug. And I found a dead mouse under one of my plastic crates. It appeared that the mice had been having a ball in there and I found mouse remains when I moved out . The droppings were on my crates and all over my rolled rug, the floor and other areas.

Since, we were moving into a storage unit they placed our box nest to the entrance to facilitate our moving into the storage unit. All staff were friendly and helpful. We will say our move from Los Angeles to Raleigh was made early for us because of U-Haul. We were so very impressed with the drivers in LA and the communication with U-Haul for our move. Please thank all for us.

Sandra PBeing able to check in and retrieve the truck via mobile app is a great concept, and appreciated, but I am 0 for 2 in my last 2 visits and ended up having to wait in line anyway. Improving the stability and usability of the app would be nice, but otherwise, I didn't have to wait too long inside and the process was pretty quick once I got to the desk.
WILLIAM LConsider clarifying the language in the ‘24hr truck share’ email. The email indicated that the vehicle could be picked up ‘at any time’ however I received a call from the location manager stating that my reservation would be cancelled if I did not arrive by a certain time. This was a negative experience.
JOHN MThe lock on lockbox #2 was jammed and it took me 30 minutes to get it open. It put me behind schedule as I had movers waiting for me. I called customer support and was going to have to wait until 9 AM to get the truck if I didn't get the lock open. It was very frustrating and I would definitely recommend getting a new lock so that this doesn't happen again.
Sarah SI booked a van at a different location and when I got there they said the van was not available. U-Haul National rebooked me to this location. When I got there, my reservation on the app was not updated to the new location so I had to cancel that one and create a new one. The check in process had me go to the far side of the lot to locate the van. Then it had me go all the way back to the main building to get the key, then back to the van again which was a hassle. On day 2 I got a call stating the van was late. This was supposed to be a 3 day rental and in the chaos I must have selected just a 1 day. I called back and the man on the line was rude and not understanding of the situation. I have a new business and have the need for moving trucks and vans occasionally. Between all of this above and also the length of the check-in process on the app (and slow loading speed at the rental site), I’m going to try to avoid using U-Haul possible in the future
DAVID FTruck had its front wiper falling off and the check engine light stayed on. During self return the system was extremely slow. One question took over 30 minutes to register
CALVIN MI have always experience excellent customer service at this location with all my U-Haul rentals. This time, I opted to utilize the U-Haul App to secure my reservation as well as to pick-up the vehicle. The App indicated to "skip the line" and retrieve my keys once my identity and payment were confirmed. What wasn't clear is how to "skip the line" as there was no Signage posted directing U-Haul App users to a location at the front to retrieve the keys. I ended up waiting in line and spoke to a customer service rep to retrieve the keys. Also, when returning the rental, the App had some glitches as it required me to take pictures 3 times of the interior and exterior of the truck, which was a pain in the ass. In addition, instructions from the U-Haul App indicated to leave the keys in the drop-box. When I returned the truck, I was in the rental return lane and if I had dropped the keys off in the drop-box, then I would of stopped the flow of vehicles being returned, so I left the keys in the truck. This way the attendant could move it and check it out for cleanliness. Maybe there should be a specific lane dedicated to U-Haul App Returns.

Open communication was on during the contract with card on file for payment. Why will a company with a reputation like this called a cop on your customer? Not rude to you and communicating with you and seeking extensions. The manager allegedly insinuatedd the truck was stolen. This is the height of ridiculous humiliation.

The customer service representative proceeded to tell me that there were no units available and that’s why when I try to check in online its asking me to pay instead of giving me one month free. That made no sense because I previously spoke to the 800 customer service representative who told me that they reserved a unit for me. I called back with customer service on the phone and called the local Wake Forest location. That’s when the customer service representative that initially answered the phone to another coworker who assisted me and checking in. So it’s a parent that the first worker didn’t want to do their job. In addition, I was told by the coworker that all I needed to do was enter my passcode on the keypad and the sliding doors will open. Apparently that is not the case. It only open the small door. And I had to bring my furniture in that way. Overall, I’ve had very poor customer service with you all. I’ve called several times to schedule my self storage and customer service had scheduled it several times and turned around and told me all that would not give you the one month free even though I asked about it initially. I was literally on the phone with them for hours.

NEVER had an issue with uhaul in 10+ years until I came to the WAKE FOREST location. Last year you hit my card claiming gas charges and just did it again this weekend when I filled it EXACTLY where I was told only to find out the girl marked it off higher than she told me in the contract. This is the second year in a row THIS LOCATION ONLY has done this. I have NEVER had this happened with the Garner locations & I WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE ELSE TO UHAUL TO USE YOUR SERVICES EVER AGAIN!!! Your employers are Scammers.

Heather L | Online Move InChristine has arguably the worst attitude I have ever encountered in a customer service position. She was rude, snotty, brash, and demeaning. I have never felt so put out and belittled by an employee as I’m trying to make a simple transaction. She obviously has the knowledge to do the job which is why I assume she still works there, but is far outshadowed with her disgusting attitude. I even asked one of her coworkers “does she always have that type of attitude?” She told me “yes”. I followed up with “has she ever been called out like that before” and she answered “yes”. This is obviously repeat behavior. Jaime was great as she stepped in when I demanded to not work with Christine anymore for this transaction, as would be expected from the GM/Owner. The young lady that originally helped me was great also. All in all it was a terrible experience, took 1.25hrs to rent a truck, look at a unit and rent said unit. The ONLY reason I didn’t walk out and just leave was the fact I had already paid for the truck, too much time had passed and the convenience of the location. Would I recommend this location- NO. Everyone in there was pleasant and helpful except Christine. I’m still reeling by the way she treated me and I watch her do the same to another customer. Rude, short, demeaning, ugly and you could see the older lady that Christine was ‘helping’ felt small and unworthy as she left. It was infuriating to experience this and feel so unwelcome. Maybe she was having an off day, but when her fellow colleagues identify and agree that she has a terrible attitude - I believe that’s all the proof you need.

That was annoying seeing as - why would you let me sign up for auto pay online if I can’t actually use autopay? Other than that the unit was great, clean, and used well.

This location is in an old, sprawling manufacturing plant that closed down decades ago but has been repurposed with storage units. Our unit happened to be at the back corner so we had a long walk every time we needed to visit the unit. Along the way, we often noticed the same trash and discarded items in the same places on subsequent visits, which tells me there wasn't a significant effort to clean the facility on a regular basis. The bathroom was often dirty. During the day at least, even though there was a keypad by the entrance, anyone could walk into the storage areas. An alarm would sound if you opened your unit without entering your code at the entrance, but we never saw anyone respond to those alarms going off, so not sure how much of a concern it was. After receiving our 4th price increase in 2 years - with each letter citing the intended services noted above as the driving factors behind the increase - we did a little comparison shopping and found a facility that was closer to our home and about 25% less expensive per month. We actually found 3 facilities in the area, all within $2 of each other in terms of the monthly cost, so it was a no-brainer to make the switch. Other than the convenience of renting a truck at the same location, we couldn't justify the ongoing expense when there were better options.

It was very difficult for me as a disabled person to get it open. However; the staff would come and help me out if they were available. I'm glad I'm out and I won't go back there again. Also, not to mention it was no lights on my row or the one beside me. Happily I got out when I did because the rain was coming in at the front right entrance once you stepped in. A tan piece of luggage was sitting there. It has a rust streak going down the luggage. That location needs a lot of work.

I felt assured. I mentioned my son's Memories, it's been hard for me since the death of my infant son. After being sent a email on February 13th 2023 that my unit was auctioned! I called the storage and I initially spoke with a Gentleman who place me on hold to check to see if the lock was off... then a woman returned to the phone to Say unfortunately Ms. Calhoun all you items are gone and the unit is Empty. This mind blowing info made me instantly refrence back to my email because i knew i hadn't gotten any emails from uhaul in awhile after reviewing. Then February19th I get an email that the move out date was February 18th?! When were my items MOVED OUT? I Was told February 13 it was EMPTY! When were my items auctioned off?!

A few things that were at times inconvenient or negatively impacted my experience: 1, men's restroom seems consistently dirty and/or not fully functional 2. often there were only 2 mattress carts available for use, even though I could not find anyone else in the building that might be using the flat carts. mattress carts are not that useful. 3. the area that is designated for "recyclable" furniture or other items often seemed cluttered / overflowing and mixed with trash. 4. 2 price increases in 2022 (10%+) with no perceived improvements in the facility, janitorial services, security, etc. despite justification for the increase cited in letters notifying me of rate increases.

Of course, I didn't want to leave any trash in the truck because that would have been rude & inconsiderate of me as a customer, so you see how that created quite the predicament. Anyway, I am very happy with the space, the service & the arrangement, but there were certain things that put glitches in the entire experience.

When I moved out my whole family had to use their phone’s flashlight so we could see to load the truck. Also my unit 259 has the hardest sliding door to close. When I was there by myself I had to stand on the handle and jump to get it to close. Please be sure to oil that or something. Otherwise I had a wonderful experience with U-Haul.

Then he walked me to the locker and showed me how to swipe in the outdoor verification checker. When we got to the locker, it already had a lock on it so we had to go back inside and get another locker. On the way back inside he was a complete gentleman and he open the door for me and even said “after you”. That was really sweet! Then he assigned me a different locker and we went back to try it again. This time the outside card was not swiping correctly. I told him that I have to come back late that evening and it is going to sound the alarm on me and notify the police. He laughed and said that it would not but if it did it would only alert the GM. After I received an empty locker and we confirmed that I was good I left the store. I came back that evening and my card did not work and the alarm went off anyway. I just laughed and I thought about Calvin saying that it would not go out to alert the police lol. I called back the next day and asked to speak with him. I told him that I was out of town working that day but I would return the next morning. He said that he would leave a note for his manager as to what happened so they could fix it since he would not be in until 1 pm. I went back the next day and everything was just as he said it would be. Although the alarm went off on me, Calvin was really nice and he took care of me. Even when there was an issue, he fixed it and still took care of everything. I really appreciate how nice he was.
