Pickup and equipment looked in good condition however this particular truck was a gas hog. The previous truck of this size I rented got between 10 and 11 mpg pulling a car trailer. This truck got about 7mpg and was about half full. Cost $60 in gas to go 140 miles.

Not properly installed, guy attached hitch very quickly and didn't check his work. Drove through Iowa into Nebraska with a very low trailer hook up, we had to go to nearby uhaul to have it correctly installed.

This was a fantastic experience. This location was sooo busy on a Sunday, and yet, the employees were still a pleasure to speak with, helpful attaching our trailer, and the same at the end of the day when we dropped the trailer back off. Best Uhaul experience ever!

The only complaint that I have is that when I picked up my rental the drop off location was changed. I was not made aware of this at the register and did not find out until after I had dropped off the trailer at the wrong location.

The inside of the trailer was very dusty, dirty. I had to drop off my rental after hours but the representative did not verbally state that I needed to either mark that in the app or slip my rental agreement in the drop box. I only knew about that because I read it in the paperwork.

I got signed up for a storage unit. They had issues getting into the units. But when I came with a load of stuff, they said its down still and I had no access to my unit! A week and a half or more later and still not fixed? This is completely unprofessional. I reported this to corporate. Had I had stuff in there, I would have called the police and reported theft. What a dive of a uhaul. This location should be shut down. They are unprofessional. The lady said oh well, I can't help you get in, come back and try again later. Um, yeah no. Your keypad wont let people into their storage units that cost 100 bucks a month, fix it. Don't tell them oh well and brush customers off. Avoid Waterloo Iowa location. I have had great luck at other locations and have moved a lot.

There were 2 staffs at the time of check out. Since this is the first time I rented UHaul and I am not aware of that we need park at the check out area. I paked the truck along with the other trucks. The male staff was a bit rude. However, the female staff was very kind and understood our position and helped me. I give 100% credit and thanks to that female staff

Rented a 26 foot box van. It was fine to begin with until we were out of state at our destination and the vehicle not only threw an ABS light and Traction control light but I lost all brakes. Then heavy shaking in the front end occurred. Stopped multiple times to investigate but found nothing definitive for a cause. In the end, spent $660 for the box van just to nearly get stranded across state lines. On top of that, Uhaul does not allow transaction to be half debit half credit so you cant split it down the middle if you needed to as well as Uhaul does not like customers paying cash and charge you more if you attempt to pay in cash. Make that make sense. 3633 University Ave in Waterloo, Iowa do not recommend renting moving vehicles from this location, you could be the next to by on the side of a road :)

The website for reserving. I was confused by the question "how long will you need the truck?". The options list hours up to 24 and also one day or two days , etc. I wasn't sure how to answer. I chose 10 hours and actually had teuck overnight for more than 10 hours and there were no concerns or questions from the uhaul employee when I returned the truck. I was very satisfied with this location as I always have been.

Cab of rental was dirty from previous use. Gas tank was on empty, had to stop somewhere to make it where I needed to go. I’ve normally had much better experiences at this uhaul location.

We broke down with a loaded vehicle and had to unload and vehicle was towed. Very inconvenient. But they made it right and had another vehicle the next day for us and we were not charged.

Hard to know where to start. Before getting the truck, I received calls and texts about pulling an extra trailer. Only one call or text is acceptable. The rest were a nuisance. The truck size, rental location and time changed. I had to spend at least 30 minutes on the phone to try to get a truck for at least the correct time. Call one: someone answered after 5 or so minutes of waiting and the call was promptly disconnected. Call two: the representative said I needed to be transferred to a rental manager which was not an option. She then gave me a number for a manager in my region but was kind enough to transfer the call. Unfortunately after waiting another 5+ minutes to speak to a manager, it was a manager in the wrong region and the phone number the representative gave me was wrong. This manager gave me a different number and transferred me to the correct person who helped me to get a truck at the scheduled time, only it was not the size requested. When we arrived at the store in Waterloo, it took quite a while (20+ minutes) to get help. We asked about getting a truck the size we requested. There weren’t any available. No discount was offered. To be fair, it was a new staff so she was learning. For us that meant even more waiting time because she had to wait for a coworker to help her with every question we had and her questions too. She took us out to the truck and left without any inspection to the truck other than the gas level.

I reserved my rental in advance, when I arrived to pick up the 15" Truck rental I was told that I had no reservation. I showed the manager my reservation confirmation on my phone and he then gave me a key and receipt and told me to go look for the rental around the back of the store. Keep in mind that this was a very cold and snowy morning (2/15 9am), after uncovering the snow off of 2 15" trucks only to find out that the key did not work to either of them. I went back into the store and was told that I did not have a truck reserved again and that the key was to a cargo van. I asked the manager once again to look-up the reservation and showed him the receipt that he gave me that clearly showed that I paid for a 15" Truck. He eventually was able to confirm this and gave me a key to 15" truck. The furniture dolly that I reserved was not available and I requested that he remove the charge. He instructed be to fill the truck to half upon return....when I returned the Truck I was told that this was not the case that I only needed to fill it 1/4. I was given credit for this also. Needless to day this was a horrible experience. The manager of the store and person who provided this poor service was Ross.

I've had some poor experiences with staff at this facility. My last rental was a completely different experience. Your rental agent was helpful, friendly and knowledgable! She was literally the opposite of many of the other employees I've dealt with at your store. Not only was this reassuring, it also means I'll be back when I need something else. You should really double whatever you are paying her! No, really, please double her pay. Right away. Jen is literally the difference between me using your equipment and going somewhere else. I can't state strongly enough how she made my experience at your store painless and pleasant.

Used on line booking and the app messed up the requested time, took several phone calls to sort that out. The staff on location was amazing, 10 out of 10 for them, but after getting the Uhaul, the gas tank was empty and the on line check in did not work. The on-line return process was not as easy or pain free as advertised. Overall, what are you going to do, they are a necessary evil with no competition.

Returned my U-Haul, let them know that I filled the tank back up to the mark, showed them to verify, then put the key in the holder like asked. The next day, they checked my U-Haul back in and charged me for 3 gallons of gas. Obviously, someone drove or used the U-Haul because I put $20.00 in myself and have receipt.

I would just let customer know how many miles I was allowed and when it needed to be turned in so I don't get charged extra. It is in the agreement, but I think customer should be TOLD before signing up.

I rented over 12 months. Over 90% of my belongings were damaged because of unfixed water leaks and then this last month animal fecess and pee all over my belongings. Definitely don't recommend storing anything great. Personnel at the location or services are not the issue. They worked with me as best they could, was just getting run around about who to talk to about fixing the leaks. Never got fixed. It's the outside storage - don't rent those units out KNOWING there is water leaks until it gets fixed.

I had many paintings I stored in my unit and had placed them up of the floor in the space at the farthest end from the door. When I went to get my belongings I could only get the door partially open due to some damage to the door since i had put my belongings in. When i got close to the end I started noticing some boxes were wet and moldy. The water was coming in from the farthest point and had gotten all my paintings wet and ruined. I was asked if I had bought the insurance which I thought was more for theft. I'm out several thousand dollars because of what I feel is something that should have been caught before I rented the unit. Will not suggest uhaul to anyone.

I don't appreciate getting a storage space NOT big enough for all my things and I got a 15 inch truck! And because I was not given a big enough storage it took me a long time to figure out what I could get in there and how to put it in there! Because I'm moving out of town I have to get rid of a lot of stuff...I have nowhere to put the rest 😢 I've never had this problem before with this company until now.

You really do need to replace the person door at the back of the climate controlled storage area. That doorknob sticks and is tricky to use.
