I've been to three other U-Haul facilities in the Alexandria, VA area (Washington, DC metro area) and NONE of them were as clean, well-stocked, or as well staffed as the Waupaca U-Haul location. Yes, we Midwesterners are nicer as a general rule, but this Waupaca location is staffed by some of the most helpful and polite team members I've ever met in ANY customer service business, namely Theresa & Chaz, and their GM, Mac Steven Johnson, is an unfailingly easy-going, helpful, unflappable, and upbeat leader. The facility is VERY clean - hallways in the cavernous indoor storage area are swept & well-lit, individual units are clean and ready to go with complementary locks waiting inside, numerous moving carts are well-stocked and available for free to assist with moving items into storage units, there is a "free-cycle" area where customers can leave items they no longer need for others to take, and even the bathrooms are extremely clean (is my neat-freak Mother secretly working here??). The entire process was made as easy as possible - and I say this after having used other storage facilities in the Chicago & DC areas for years that made you feel like you were being extorted and your business was not really valued. Honestly, your prices are almost twice as much as Appleton for climate controlled units, so I do wish you'd work on lowering them, but that's my one complaint. Although it is a significant one! Correction - high storage rates and the HORRIBLY DISFUNCTIONAL U-Haul app are my 2 complaints. Your Android app (and probably the Apple app, too) needs a MAJOR UI overhaul, and should be THOROUGHLY TESTED before release to the public. Don't believe me (despite my prior work in the tech sector), just read the Google reviews - they are spot-on and unflinchingly brutal. However, I really appreciate that ALL the Waupaca staff have been attentive, extremely helpful, unfailingly pleasant (even while dealing with my crotchety 87 year old father who they helped get signed on as an additional driver since he was flying out to DC from Waupaca & wouldn't be with me when I picked up the truck). My family had a Chrysler dealership for 80 years in a small Illinois town of about 20,000 people, so I understand better than most how hiring people with great attitudes can make or break a small- town business. Rarely have I ever encountered someone with the can-do attitude, politeness, un-flapability, and easy-going helpful & upbeat attitude of your GM, Mac Steven Johnson, and his team, Theresa & Chaz. Great leaders do so by example, and it's obvious Mac's high expectations and customer-focused attitude set the standard for the Waupaca U-Haul location. I would be more than happy to unreservedly recommend this location to anyone with storage needs. - Elizabeth Brown

From my first call to the Waupaca, WI U-Haul location, I was greeted with friendly, helpful staff who went above and beyond to make a very difficult cross-country move as easy as possible. Everyone I encountered - Chaz in my first phone call, Teresa when I arrived and needed to turn in the truck, and Mac who greatly helped facilitate a much easier trip and a smooth move-in to the U-Haul Storage facility - were all so kind and understanding. Additionally, the Waupaca location is so well kept and run that it was a real joy to do business with them. Even the restrooms are spotless! Besides the complete array of packing supplies and ample number of large rolling carts and dollies to move belongings off trucks and into storage units, the massive facility is extremely clean and well-lit, and I appreciate the instant loud alarms that go off if a unit door is ever opened without the users' code first being used. In particular, I would like to recognize the calm, cool demeanor of the Waupaca GM, Mac Steven Johnson. Clearly he sets the tone for his staff, as he was unflappable and so easy to work with! Give him a HUGE RAISE and keep him motivated, because he is a fantastic asset for U-Haul (but please don't take him away from Waupaca!). All Waupaca staff were so friendly and helpful, but Mac really went out of his way, I and am very appreciative of his assistance!

charlie sYour machine that placed the full U-Box on my driveway leaked oil on the driveway, and now there are permanent stains because you do not maintain your equipment adequately. Because of this, I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again!

Robert MI really need to thank Linda from JRz auto Body in Stevens Point. She was the most courteous and helpful person that I have ever talked too. She clearly cares about her job and her clients that rent from her. Unfortunately at no fault of hers I was not able to meet her because of the way that U haul does there reservations. Even though our reservation was confirmed with U Haul there were no trailers that were going to be available at this location. Thankfully Linda went out of her way to help us and we secured a trailer in Waupaca which was on our way to Stevens point. Everything worked out well thanks to Linda and her professionalism and dedication. THANK YOU!!!

The upgrade was definitely the worst part of my experience. Also, the drop off location in Redgranite did am outstanding job helping to get the trailer off my vehicle. He had the correct equipment and if it wasn’t for him I would NEVER would have been take that trailer off by myself. The onsite services were absolutely outstanding and main number giving the upgrade not so much. The upgrade should have been explained much better. I was moving myself and would never would have been able to do this without the onsite people!
MICHELLE LI had a 26 foot truck. The thing shook so bad doing anything over 50 and I had a 140 mile trip. I took video, If I was hauling anything other than solid work out equipment I'm sure it would have been damaged by the shaking.

Thomas LThe car dolly that I rented was in very good condition and it worked perfectly. Check out at the Waupaca facility was quick and easy. However, I was disappointed about having to drive extra miles to pick up the dolly when there is a dealer in my home town. I was told the Waupaca store was unwilling to transfer the equipment to the local dealer although I had initially rented it from him.

I'm wondering if there could be a "press for help" button that alerts the staff to someone in the building or at the desk. Both of my valid credit cards were rejected 4 times, the computer program seemed to not work and was slow. Both persons there were friendly and helpful but it was a ridiculous and unnecessary time drain. Study Amazon’s computer system and try to copy it.

Facility could use guide signs down the main access aisles showing the number of the units in each row, e.g., 1421-1468.
