OREN LThe online system needs some work. I went the day before my rental to get the paperwork done so I would not have to bother people at 2am. They said it could not be done. So at 2am someone from your company had to call people to verify me. Please add an option to do it during business hrs. Thanks

RICHARD CMy overall experience was a really good one here at this U-haul location in Chandler off of Chandler Blvd . Isaiah who helped me bit checking in and then checking out upon returning the truck rental was nothing short of amazing. He was kind and knowledgeable and really put my stressful moving time at ease with offering me extra moving blankets and great customer service overall . I truly appreciate their quick response time in finding me a 26 foot truck and the overall ease of the last minute rental the day prior . A huge thank you to Isaiah and the other staff there like Becca too. I will definitely go out of my way to recommend this special U-haul location because of the good experience I had . LOIS WThe storage area is a maze. It would be VERY helpful to place unit numbers on the walls indicating where the unit groups are located - or - at least color code the sections so someone can remember how to get to their unit.

It was also easy to access and staff was always friendly. This was also one of the easiest things to close once we were done using it, making it a pain free experience. The only thing I could say that would be an Improvement is how expensive it was to rent a 10x10 (I believe that’s the size), but I also understand the need to make money and pay your staff as well. Thank you Uhaul!

It’s clear there was a leak for a long time. I’m very upset. I have paid an outrageous amount of money to have my things in a climate safe environment and I did NOT receive that security.

HUGO LI reserved a truck at a different location (next to my house), but because the truck was in the shop I was required to pick up a truck at a location that is 8.5 miles away. I did not have far to move and only had a couple trips. So 17 out of the total 24 miles was due to picking up and dropping off the truck and I still had to pay the $1.29/mile on all 24 miles. That is not fair. Not my fault that the truck i reserved was in the shop. Uhaul should've delivered a truck to the original location instead of requiring me to take extra time to go out of my way AND charge me extra miles!

novale r | Overall ExperienceI was moving within the Phoenix area. With my purchase I qualified for a free month of storage. Why limit it to the location I had rented the U-Haul? Storage so far away from where I am moving to is not something I’d consider making. It makes no sense, and is pointless.

We were taking a load from AZ to CA to help the Fire Victims and they generously gave more miles in case we needed to circumvent closed roads and allowed for additional days, along with helping with a small discount. Every bit helped and was used! We were extremely grateful for their generosity, and U-Haul's allowance for autonomy for them to be able to make these kids of decisions.

THEODORE PMy only issue is the rental rates are excessive for what you get. There’s no light in any storage unit which is a necessity during the dark. The exterior lights are insufficient. $230 per month for a non lit exterior unit is way to high and the reason that you probably have such high turn over and non payment .

JOHN FThe truck had 146380 miles on it. The interior was clean but exterior was very dirty. Air conditioning wasn’t working. Transmission wasn’t shifting right. Felt like it was slipping. All an all it got the job done but what a pos. No RAMP. Since when is this an option?

I had an experience where a trailer hitch detached on the day of my move to my new place, as I was in route to the storage facility to empty out my storage. I had my two kids in the truck, as the hitch detached on the I-10 freeway and place us in danger. They both did everything humanly possible to make things right and resolve all my concerns. Be it that we experienced a terrifying moment on the freeway; in the aftermath, Jim and Portland helped me in ways that I am forever grateful for. Both these men deserve priase and recognition for their service to their customers and yes will return as a customer, because of their human kindness to make things right. Thank you Jim and Portland. But, he did let me in, so I could unload and put my stuff in the storeroom. We changed the pass code and it didn't work again. Then a nice young lady tried it in the keypad and it worked!!! I came back later today and it worked for me. Not sure why it didn't work this morning, but I am happy now.

greg k | Overall Experiencethe Chandler location was really the only location that was helpful. your 1-800 number sucks! they didn't give me a right size truck yeah I get it I booked it online but I also called and asked questions after questions after question. they assured me that the storage was going to fit a 5x7 I'm sorry but if 5x7 is not going to fit a one to two bedroom with big furniture. the 1-800 number needs to go into a facility and actually work in the facility to understand the size of the truck and the sizes of the storage. because of cave Creek location and the one 800 number it was a straight-up bad experience! but the two young ladies and that gentleman that were behind the counter were always very helpful to us when we arrived

Most places if you're loyal you get discounts not added expenses. Otherwise, it was secure & everything worked since I was on the 2nd floor. Didn't need to interact with the staff after unit was rented which was a good thing.

She is no-nonsense and a real pleasure to work with, as odd as that sounds when you are packing the sad remnants of your apparently "pathetic little life" into a 5 X 8 and you realize that you can barely cover the floor. Well - your attitude needs to change ... you have less burdening you down than most idiots your age. Now - this isn't trolling, just look at those around you and realize that they are more interesting than you let on, or they will admit. The culture there is thick with community - just keep an eye out for it ... hard to miss once you see it. Worth the free time and probably more!

I was not able to use the call back feature as the automated feature did not recognize the numeral prompts that were required to advance through the system. I have a Samsung Fold 4. This cost me valuable time wasted during a very stressful move. Changes to my arrangements were very difficult to make. I was not able to successfully move my things from the shipping Pod to a location closer to me. I will have to rent a truck again when I can secure storage closer to me. Mileage will be very costly to me because of this.

I get a message months later after having consistent payments that I was late 15 days on my payments. I know I payed that month because I had it on auto pay and I had the bank transcript. They made me pay the $89 for my unit when I already paid it for that month. Some of the staff aren't in the office when I go in and it takes a while to get help from someone. When I do it seems like they don't want to be there. I love Uhaul but not once have I ever had a problem like I did with this specific location

Trent S | Overall ExperienceDecided not to store my items with Uhaul, since the location was highly unwelcoming, parking lot was full of a fleet of trucks that left a little or no room for customer parking, what customer parking was available was coned off, the entire dock, loading, unloading area was full of vehicles, we couldn’t get in to unload our vehicle on time to return our truck on time, your people were very unsympathetic to us, getting trapped in the back near the back gate, and only opened it and allowed us to go around when I asked him to after calling the intercom, and it not being answered, Even though the staff could see us, they ignored us. Would not recommend U haul.

I couldn't change the contact for my storage unit online, and was informed I couldn't do it over the phone. I live across the country from my storage unit, and I cannot just walk in to change information. The location to pick up my truck was moved with little notice. I received several unsolicited requests to move equipment for U-Haul at a vastly reduced price than they would pay for commercial. Calling U-Haul was a mess every time, and I was continually routed to another person without resolving my issues. U-Haul is a pain to work with, using deceptive business practices to make more money for themselves (i.e. moving pickup locations so you have to rent a truck from them to move things). I would not recommend them and will not be using them in the future.

About 2 weeks later I received a call telling me that I need to come out a lock on my unit. I call back and inform them that I closed the unit out on Halloween evening and had nothing in there, plus I moved out of state. They informed me that there were items in there and I needed to come in to redo the process. I then asked to speak to a manager who was unable to come to the phone and was told he’d call me back. Next thing you know I get an auction email. Called again to let them know hey I signed a paper back in October and have nothing there. Was again told that they would take care of it and I needed to do nothing. Well nothing was done, now they claim I owe them for them not closing my unit out properly and allowing someone to place their belongings in my former unit.

I am very frustrated with the fact that prorated amounts are not provided, I just paid for an entire month in the 13th and we moved out yesterday. That is sad, other properties give their customers their money back not steal it.

They never physically saw me sign or set up a U-Haul account and I was harassed every month. I was called back in June or July and told my storage unit was around &900 plus and I told them they could send the unit to auction. For some reason after that they kept calling me about the unit and kept asking for a payment until it reached close to $2000. Now one I’m not paying that because as I stated I never started an account with U-Haul and it’s illegal for someone else to initiate a unit in someone else’s name and make the party responsible. Second, I told them when they called in June send it to auction and they decided to keep it open to reck up almost another $1000 on charges they are gone default for me to pay which I’m not. I will report this to the BBB and any action needed to move forward I am willing to take.

Next time I came since I had to rent the whole month and I figured I'd pit a few thing in the unit. they had zip tied our unit closed and marked it clean and ready to rent. Had to go to office during business hours to have them remove and fix system. over all nice place but extremely poor communication. I will highly recommend that anyone I know go somewhere else. On side note the manager on duty was very professional and understanding of my frustration.

The person who helped me first also did not show me where my unit was or remove the uhaul lock so I could open it and use my own, I had to go back down after finding the unit on my own to request the lock be removed. When I later reserved a truck and one way drop off of the truck because of how far my storage unit was from my new house, I was informed the day before pick up that I couldn't do this unless I changed my truck reservation to a later time. Everyone I interacted with was very nice but overall my experience was that every department at Uhaul is extremely disorganized, which just added to the stress of the move itself.

Probably gonna get a letter saying they want another 200-300 for not removing everything.

I vacated my storage unit on the 22nd. I asked what more do I need to do as my unit was cleared out. The staff said to leave the door up/open, and they’ll take care of it. Following the Christmas holiday I received an email notifying me of a late fee. I wasn’t pleased with this, but having called corporate and then speaking with the manager, the matter was resolved. I was set to leave another five star review; but then Sunday I received a message from my brother who was concerned about a late fee and monthly rental charge. This upset me greatly as now my Emergency contact was sent a bill. An Emergency contact is not someone who’s a co-sign to a rental agreement. It’s someone who’s to be notified if something should happen to me... injury, or death. Really?! You’ve sent my brother a bill? Any idea of what harassment is? I really should stick you with a one star rating, but unlike U-Haul sending my brother a bill, I’m a touch more considerate, understanding, and forgiving. It would be wise that a handwritten apology be sent to my brother. Is that asking too much for someone to do as an adult, and kind human being? Beware all others now when filling out that section of a rental agreement. Guard your contacts from any nuisance correspondence that will result in unnecessary drama, and stress.

jeanne t | Overall ExperienceThis storage facility and staff far exceeded my expectations I it appreciate that they are taking every precaution necessary to prevent the spread of the virus for the safety of their employees and for the community on top of that during this time of crisis they are giving one month free and that means free there is no hidden charges it's not a gimmick when they say they're giving you month free it doesn't mean next month or break it up into 3 months they literally gave me storage for nothing out of pocket but that's not what I appreciated the most I appreciated the friendliness of the staff I appreciate the helpfulness and the fact that they have so many carts available to move your stuff I've never experienced a storage unit like this and if I move out of this city it's worth the drive-in me that keep them so I don't say this lightly they are far the best storage I've ever experienced and I am very pleased with the service and precautions they are taking if there was more than 5 stars I would give it
