Erik CI don’t know what to put for your above average and all this because before this I was quite pleased, especially with this Oakville location I drove all the way to Hamilton to come to this Oakville location because I really like it on the service road there usually very accommodating and have a good selection I don’t wanna give you a terrible review, but this is really been bad today. I’m very unprofessional. They should be offering me a solution not threatening to kick me out. This is just unacceptable.
GHILAINE A | First ImpressionsFirstly I pulled into the drop off area and it was extremely muddy and dirty, then an employee drove up in a small Uhaul truck, and honked at our vehicle ( he didn't have the window down and couldn't even be bothered to get out of the vehicle ) he then instructed us where to put the trailer, and parked his truck so close to the place we had to park it made it difficult to maneuver it in, he also didn't help to guide it in at all. Picking up the reservation went well, dropping off was bad Also, for the record, it is false advertising to claim this trailer is 6ft wide, in fact, the opening has two chains mounted on the interior of the trailer, which are welded and cannot be removed, making it smaller than 6ft wide. These should be relocated or not welded
DAVID JIt was an older trailer and the hooks were too large for my vehicle, but we have a second vehicle so that worked out OK. But the inside smelled of soil and trees. Someone had used the trailer for hauling plant matter. Although the floor was swept clean there was soil and debris caught in the corners. Since I was transporting fabrics, it was not ideal. Not a major issue though.

DONALD RJust one question/concern: The receiver installed on my Rav4Prime was 2in (being a Class3?) I believe my tow capacity is 2500lb. I would have thought a 1-1/4in receiver (Class 2 up to 3500lb) to be more appropriate, Was there a reason for the heavier receiver?

RONNEY GThe ratchet mechanisms for the wheel straps were quite stiff and corroded. I lubricated them prior to returning the trailer. The lady at the desk was awesome, great customer service and interaction. Other than that small thing, it was seamless and a great experience.

CHRISTOPHER BI booked a 6' x '12 cargo trailer and the reservation was changed to 5' x 8' cargo trailer. Very disappointing to have the 6' x '12 cargo trailer confirmed and at the last minute it was changed to a 5' x 8'.

BARRY SIt's my first time to used Uhaul and drives a cargo van. It was a great experience. The back camera helps a lot. The cargo van was squeaky and the dashboard is showing "needs maintenance ". But overall the experiment is excellent. The staff outside who receives the van was very kind and helpful.

I was able to get a free months storage when I had to switch from one unit to another. U-Hual made my move much easier. I would definately recommend them to anyone. I also booked last minute and was able to contact someone at head office who was able to find me a truck that worked for me. EXCELLENT service from Courtney at Woody Rd. U-Haul in Oakville. Meghan Y

We had not seen snow for over a week, why wouldn’t the vehicles be driver ready? I went back in, the employee was very nice, understood my concern and assigned me another vehicle. She apologized saying she was working on her own. I felt bad for her. On a busy Saturday, vehicles should have been ready to go!

MAXIME PI booked a trailer and purchased a ball hitch using the app. It’s very confusing that in the same order I have PAID for the ball hitch, but reserved the trailer. Taking my credit card and only paying for part of the order makes it confusing at the counter. Furthermore, the counter agent didn’t know I had paid for the ball hitch and tried to sell it to me again!
ROBERT DEven after taking picture of fuel gauge showing incorrect amount of fuel I was told it had still got charged 30 dollar fuel charge after putting in 10 dollars for a 26KM trip. Math doesn’t math.

DARYL AWe dropped off truck on Saturday night after 2-3 days I got voicemail called them back and ask them to send me email to clarify if we went over kms I will pay but I like to make sure no one sent anything but took$65 out automatically from my card . How do I know if truck was not driven after we dropped I paid extra already for kms when I told the representative address to where truck is being driven. Why they couldn’t send any proof but took payment without asking me
MANPREET SOverall just a horrible experience. I honestly don’t even know where to start with just how awful our experience with U-Haul was. We booked a truck online a full week in advance for our move, confident that we had everything set up. But then, just one day before the move, we received a call from U-Haul saying that there was nothing available. Are you kidding me? After reserving a truck in advance, they told us we were out of luck! They offered us a truck at a location in Etobicoke, which we reluctantly agreed to. When we arrived to pick it up, guess what? The truck wasn’t there! Instead, we were given a MUCH smaller truck that barely fit our things. As a result, we had to do FOUR trips back and forth, wasting an entire day of moving. It also caused a lot of stress with our previous landlords, who were understandably frustrated that we stayed longer than planned. To make matters worse, we couldn’t even park our car at the pickup location because of their poor logistics. You would think that if you're swapping vehicles, they could at least accommodate parking, but nope — completely useless. They did try to make up for it by increasing the mileage and taking $50 off the total, which is appreciated. However, it barely begins to cover the headache and stress this entire ordeal caused. It’s beyond frustrating that U-Haul allows you to “reserve” a truck when there’s clearly no guarantee of one being available. Either they should not allow “reservations” unless they can actually deliver, or the terminology needs to be changed to make it crystal clear that nothing is actually secured. Our entire move was a nightmare, and I would never trust U-Haul again.

CHRISTOPHER MHad to return 1st cargo van as low tire light on. No tread left on rear tires. Unpacked van, repacked into new van then 2nd van had service soon light coming on. Braking system and more alarms kept chiming through our entire rental. Was given $50 first return only. Very nice staff & large vehicle selection but obviously vehicles are not being serviced properly.
LORI KI have used this location several times. The staff are awesome. Very friendly and helpful. This is the reason I would only use uHaul compared to other rental companies. UHaul is the best!!!!
PASCHAL RThe rental van I was assigned was parked in the 2nd row behind the vans in the front row. I had to go inside and request that the attendant move the van in front of my van so I could drive out. The windshield washer fluid reservoir was empty, so I had to fill it myself using my own jug of washer fluid. I had a GM van which is an old obsolete design compared to the more modern Ford vans. I should have been assigned the more modern Ford vans, as they were the same price.

Sukhbir SI returned the vehicle with more gas than when I picked it up. Supplied picture of gauge and mileage reading that indicated more gas and was still charged additional funds for gas. I disagree with this practise and will ensure that I tell people about this practice and not use the virtual check in method as you do not have any recourse but to have your credit card charged without your consent.

This should have already been confirmed that everything was in place, Check list should be created before new tenant moves in automatically. The booking of Moving labour was a disaster and had to cancel my rental truck as the moving company hired thru the U haul web site at the last minute, called and did not meet the original plan saying that the people had no drivers license and no moving equipment and was only booked for 2 hours but it would take them 5 hours by bus to get to location and ask for 350 dollars extra, so I canceled them, and had to hire another company 4 hours before the actual move, Very terrible and stressful experience using the Moving Labor tab on the U haul web site

It put me in an awkward situation when I was at the locker late one night. Facility is spotless though and well secured. Would definitely recommend.

The woman (who told me on the phone that I had to be there 30 min before office hours ended) handled my paperwork and it look less than five min. After telling her that I’ve never rented a storage unit before, she told me what my passcode was and sent me on my way. Told me there was an elevator right as you walk in and that I was easy to find. I then tried to access the facility with my passcode with no success. After multiple failed attempts, I went back in and asked for help. The man came to help and he explained that I needed to put my passcode in two different things in a specific order, before I could enter. Then I entered the facility and walked around for a while looking for an elevator and couldn’t find it. I checked the map, and the elevator seemed to be in a different part of the building and on the opposite end. We then had to ask the man for help again and he was patient with us as he told us that we needed to drive the Uhaul truck around the building to the other side to access this area and my unit. In conclusion, the man was very helpful after the woman did very little to explain anything to me. It was a long day moving and at least half the staff was willing to help.

She should have also directed me to the location. Didn't care. She also should have gone over the sign in and signed out instructions as well. I ended up setting off the alarm. On a positive note the storage facility was clean, well lit and I was impressed with the check in/check out feature once I figured that out.
Dieter K | First ImpressionsThe staff was very pleasent and professional as well they provided a better alternative with the truck rental since I have a time sensitive matter that needed a truck asap and at first I reserve a 10" truck but it was only available for 12 hours which they suggest to get a 15" truck which was available and could have the 24 hours rental time which was great for me as well it had the built in ramp too so made moving my stuff much easier and didn't have to rush bc had the extra time. As well I was able to get the one month of free storage since I rented the truck so very happy about that and would highly recommend Uhaul!!

A person loaded my car to trailer in Alabama without any hesitate. Also, It was a big frustration for me that, on top of all the tiredness, no one tried to help and acted indifferently, as if they were trying to get rid of it. You guys have to change your attitude!

The front counter guy gave us instructions on how to enter after hours but was unsuccessfully and a waste of our time and gas. Also, getting a hold of someone at this location is unheard of. It is done thru a call centre (remotely). Leaving a message to Call Centre to get this location to return my phone call was unsuccessfully as well. Newly renovated storage facility at this location was very clean and secured.

The day I went in to arrange the unit the person in the rental office was not overly familiar with the storage rental process. The process ended up taking an hour which included several phone calls to a supervisor. Actual sign in and out procedures for unit were not fully explained - was not told that we needed to sign out on the keypad after leaving. Got it done in the end. Unit is perfect. Just recommend that experienced staff should be available. Felt quite sorry for the gentleman in line behind me as no one else was available to help him.

I still have yet to recieve any type of confirmation email that is been canceled. They verified my email and it is correct. Several emails went unresponded to and after over a week of radio silence, I had to call them to get the cancellation processed before they charged my card.

Robert R | First ImpressionsI made an online reservation for a 5x5 storage space at 79.95 CAD . when I arrived there, the staff told me that it's on second floor and I asked to see elevator and troy are available or not and he said, yes. Therefore I confirmed that it's okay for me . he said that also one space available at ground floor and changed my reservation to that. till now everything is okay but at the end I found that the rent of this pace is higher than second floor and he didn't mention anything about it. I know that it's just $5 and not a big money but exactly I chosen that warehouse and location based on the price. anyway, I realized this price different after I already dropped my items at the storage space and I was lazy to ask them to change my contract again to second floor and I move again all items to second floor.

Anthony D | Overall ExperienceIt was very inconvenient, it was my first time and I had a difficult time since the first storage that was given to me was very small and we were stranded there for a good 45mins. Since it was 4mins past office hrs with no one answering the service line. At one point we called the # and someone hung up. Finally Michelle gave us another unit, she was pretty helpful but the night experience was horrible.

But the door would not accept the code and I called 1800 number which didn’t help at all. They said the manager at the site needs to be talked to. I had to cancel my plans and then come back the next day sacrificing my sleep and spend 4 hours to pickup and transport the items in my unit and then go for a 10 hour night shift at work. When i raised the issue with the employee and the manager they said they will have to talk to IT to look at the door issue. Not even an apology.

But the service experience as a whole was absolutely horrible. We reserved the space and truck. Called to confirm everything was good the day before. Was thanked for confirming. Then. Arrived to be good our space was rented out. Apparently the reservation means absolutely nothing!! It as very upsetting. I had to move my mother in that one day and had done all the work to prepare only to be told that reserved means nothing to anyone at uhaul. The girl apologized that this is the policy. Offered to call another location. But we picked that location for a reason. It was very stressful for my senior mom. We ended up in a much more expensive space just to spent through everything. I’ll not recommend uhaul for reliable service/policy. Still angry over the whole thing!

Had to fuel up midway through a move with a truck full of belongings, no truck availability, also rented me another cargo van with a flat tire, had I not noticed I could have been in serious danger on the highway driving. Do better. Hoping to receive some sort of discount. Manager Michelle was friendly but she needs to have her people keep an eye on the trucks wayyyyy more.

You can always sweep a floor but it’s very difficult to change a person’s attitude. Oakville’s floors shine and the people are polished. Well done U-Haul.
