I voiced my concerns about the truck not being at the original pick up point ( forty minutes away) and the fact the brakes were really really bad . After some back and forth conversation the manager literally told me to " fuck off " Well done uhaul!

Was just told I must do it via app, which I didn’t want to download… drop off was equally unpleasant as I spent 15 mins taking pics of the van, drop off was mid day. I do not understand why I, the customer has to completely self serve. I get it if it was an after hours drop. Just pathetic

MATTHEW EEverything was perfect except the wait at the beginning, pick-up. Suggestion; not sure if it's possible, but as a returning customer with a commercial licence BMZ, with a U-Haul profile, that had made a reservation, it would be nice to just pick the trailer up without waiting in line. I understand if not possible for your insurance reasons but just thought I would mention it.

Robert MTotally fine if you only want to store or access your locker from 7-7. Although you can access it after hours there is only a door and it has an unmarked step. If you wanted to move anything of a larger size or a heavy weight it would be very difficult or impossible. This wasn’t explained. Also the need to download their app is very frustrating and it doesn’t work well.

VALERIO DI informed the attendant of any issues I had, the wipers needed replacing and the driver's side headlight went out. 10' box Van ran like a truck... My biggest problems are with U-Haul not the staff at any location. Two things about renting trucks from U-Haul are that there is no credit for fuel, I returned with more than 1/8 tank more than when I picked up and you would charge me for gas if I returned it and paying .99cents/km you should get a mileage credit with the rental like the first 30km/day free then you charge for the overage. It's just getting too expensive to rent a truck to go out of town and return. Thanks, that's my two cents anyway, all I have left after a large mileage bill and unfortunately giving you free gas...

How can something like this be missed in the pre-rental inspection???? U-Haul should also honour the booking pickup location, I had to drive a half-hour away instead of 5-minutes to pick up my rental.

Thomas RYour automated pick up and drop off are not customer friendly. This is not the fault of the staff at the location, but rather the company’s work to remove human interaction. The items I added: a dolly and a furniture cart, were not in the truck so I had to waste time to return to get them. The wait in line for an attendant to return the truck and one never came. We had to download the app and return the truck with interactions only when we entered the store. It seems u haul does not care about its interactions with customers.

AL CCharge the correct mileage, I have submitted a concern for your incorrect charge. Very expensive as compared to a rental out of Toronto, contract no.28068700 on April 1, 2025. $198.35 for this rental with 52 miles (0946 to 1704) as compared to $95.41 with 11 miles (0924 to1800). Waiting for a mileage correction.
BRENT EOrdered 20 moving totes back in January for my move, arrived on my pick-up date to find they only had 12 available. Whats the point of making a reservation and getting a confirmation number if they aren't going to honor it. This added to the length of time to the move and number of trips which added mileage/cost to my rental vehicle.

TRIENEKE NNobody checked KM’s or gas level before I took it off the lot. A couple kilometres after I left the lot the gas light warning came on, the tank was well below the 1/4 tank line it was almost empty as the warning said 50mins to empty. I travelled only 23km total and put $15 worth of gas in before returning the vehicle. Again, upon returning the vehicle, nobody checked anything. I was asked if I put gas. I said yes knowing I put way more than what I had used and was told I was good to go and I would be sent my bill. I was then promptly charged $30 for a gas fee as they said the tank was at a 1/4 tank when I left. That was a complete lie as nobody checked anything, all they wanted was my money and probably had it set up to charge me the $30 gas charge knowing I would put my portion that I used in and then they would end up with a free tank of gas. Absolute shoddy business practices and people who don’t really care. Honestly the experience wasn’t that terrible. Easy & fast check-in and check-out (little did I know I was being setup and that’s why it was quick) but that shady way of doing business is absolutely unacceptable and a complete turn off. I will never rent from there again or for that matter I will never rent or associate myself or recommend U-Haul again. The only thing I will do for sure is tell everyone this story of being completely setup and ripped off by U-Haul.

CRAIG MEngine Light was on Truck would chug going up hills The 1/4 tank fuel is crap ( keep the tank full) Truck had less than a 1/4 tank although this was recognized by the sever… it also ment I had to go to the gas station immediately (that is bs) Lastly I returned the truck with slightly over 1/2 a tank (very hard to judge the distance of a drive) anyway I received a credit for $15.00… this is far below the going value (I’d say I was taken for around $35.00. O don’t think u should profit from my miss judgement… that could be considered being taken advantage of ! I wish the transaction was more enjoyable on my part. John OKeefe

JAMES MI would like to add that I have used U-Haul Moving and Storage at 389 Speedvale Ave. West in Guelph Ontario numerous times. From renting trailers and moving trucks and just recently we have secured a 10’ x 10’ climate controlled storage locker. Every time we deal with the staff there, we are always greeted with a smile. The staff are very knowledgable and go out of their way to help you out. I would highly recommend U-Haul moving in storage at 389 Speedvale Ave. West in Guelph Ontario.. Mike

Not a very big variety or number of carts either. The sliding access door indoors is fairly small. After the office closes only a man door is available to access the unit. The man door has no ramp, so if you are using a cart you have to go into the door to load it. Not very user friendly.

The last time I used them in 2023-24, I had 2 large storage lockers full of boxes and loose items for 15 months and there were zero signs of mice activity when I moved out. Very secure facility with great carts for moving items from the locker. The bathroom is also very clean and well maintained. Lastly, the website and user portal is very easy to use and is well designed. I will only use U-Haul for any storage in the future!

On arrival for move in, I was told there was no reserved smallest unit in my name and there were no other smallest units available. I was stuck with accepting a larger than I need. Yet, when my name was typed in for a rental your system promptly populated my address and telephone number - I DID RESERVE!. I should be getting my present unit for the price of your smallest unit until a smaller unit becomes available for me. Also the above Yes/No questions are hard to answer, for example, on recommending to a friend I would have preferred to say Yes with a caution: Don't count on being able to reserve space ahead of time.

Todd C | First ImpressionsI went to move in - followed the instructions - but they left a red taped lock on my drive up unit and I could not get in (after office hours) - had a full load in the car, but had to tale it home. Frustrating and waste of time.
Jeff H | Online Move InRecently the storage unit was opened and was not closed properly. U-Haul's security person put one of their lock tags on it to secure the door from not being opened. I was not informed of this and when my daughter went to the storage unit she found their lock on it. It was quickly removed. My daughter cleaned out the storage unit before the end of March. On the 30th of March I was into U-Haul to let them know the storage unit was now empty and asked about getting April's payment back. The attendant said he would leave a note for the manager who is in on Monday as he is the only one that can issue a credit. Not hearing a word from anyone at U-Haul on Monday I wrote an email to Brandon explaining the situation in full and asked him would I could expect to see my credit returned. No response. On Apr 5th I was back into U-Haul again to speak to Brandon in person. At first he was not in the office but did appear shortly thereafter. He flipped from computer screen, to computer screen, to computer screen and after 15 minutes put a credit through on my credit card. Not very efficient.

I was sent invoices for the unit without my knowledge of it existing and spent months trying to correct what was clearing a mistake on the part on U-haul. The U-haul website is aggressive with its advertisement pop-ups, it forces add ons down own throat, and this experience has shown me that it is nearly impossible to get a hold of the people who can do anything about this. I doubt I'll ever use U-haul again. Please fix your costumer service. Less robots, more humans.

Made it very painful to transport goods by hand through the narrow door. As it was not mentioned causing annoyance and pain. Was under the impression that the unit was move-in ready, did not know until getting there and had to meet the front desk clerk 10 minutes before closing to get a lock changed with the security clasp. I am grateful the lock was included free as a promotion as long not lost, but lots of rushing around after getting the house cleared out was a new experience for me.

Anna S | Online Move InStaff were horrible. Not friendly acted like they hated their life and job. If you ask a question they made you feel stupid. I’m also absolutely appalled by the the fact that you rent a trailer for $20 and then you have to buy an extension for the brake lights $37 because the one they give you is 1 inch long (also when I asked if we can return the stuff after the guy laughed in my face) and you have to buy a trailer hitch $50 if your vehicle doesn’t have one. It’s just a huge money grab. The reason we left in the first place was because they keep upping the price of the unit. We started at around $145 and then was paying $200 a month like that’s insane. We found a unit for 125$ that’s including taxes. People shove garbage in the reuse centre and it’s never cleaned out and the alarms that go off every-time you open your unit door that we were told would be fixed 2 years ago still happens so yeah do not ever recommend U-haul. Huge money grab. Will be making sure people know about this dump.

Then, when I was going to move out, a representative said I didn't have to pay the past few days as I'd be paying full month price for 3 days. As a result, I not only got charged full price but actually got charged a late fee on top of that. Then, when I went to confront this issue, the staff proceeded to tell me that uhaul doesn't do prorated payment. Eventually, I had to prove a staff member misled me with facts (notes and call recording). Only then did the staff waive my fee. Horrible experience all the way around.

Then maybe 2 weeks later, I got an invoice saying that my payment was late and I had a late fee attached now. Why would I receive an invoice with the total of $0.00 on it? Why would it not state the amount owed. From a customer's point of view, this is inaccurate and confusing. I would appreciate having an invoice that more clearly stated my costs.
