Emily and Tashaun, hooked me up and returned the trailer I rented. They did a great job, and I only had to wait 5 minutes for hookup and 5 minutes for return. Great service and pleasant attitudes!

Rating is for my overall experience with UHaul last weekend. I had a trailer reserved to move my daughter home from college in La Crosse, WI. They called the night before and said the closest trailer was 2.5 hours away (why even have a reservation)...gentlemen that called was extremely rude and did nothing to help the situration. I called back to canel it and was told they could now have a trailer 35 minutes away, at this Winona location. They guaranteed me it would be there. When I showed up at the agreed upon time, they had no trailer for me. I had to change to an open trailer (ended up with much wind damage on furniture) and they charged me an extra $40 for it. Absolutely miserable experience , rude customer service (Except for the young man at the Winona location that did everything he could for me) and an absolute joke. I understand it was a busy moving weekend but we had a RESERVATION......

RONALD MAlthough our overall experience with your company wasn’t the greatest, the area where we stored our things was pretty great. We showed up 10 minutes before you closed, not because we wanted to, but because we were given wrong information about the location of your self storage and U box site. The gentleman that waited on us was very patient and worked very hard to get us the accommodations we needed, despite the late hour. The place is very nice and clean and you have equipment there to help move our things into our unit. I also appreciated the “first month free” option.

They knowingly allow the storage units to be over booked. So people were coming in with full loads of stuff only to find out that there was no place to put it. We had reserved our storage unit a couple months ago, and were told that we just didn’t have one. Others there were hearing the same thing about storage units they believed they had reserved. This is a college town and students are having to navigate this kind of stress without their parents, and during move out/finals. We were offered the option to rent a larger unit for double the price of what we were expecting to pay or a smaller unit. We opted for the smaller unit, but if we hadn’t been in a pinch we would have absolutely not rented the storage unit from them. I’m so disappointed in UHaul.

Christopher HThis location did not inform me of mileage charges- it wasn't until after the vehicle was returned that I had the drop off location inform me I was being charged another $180 on top of what I already paid. In fact he told me there was no mileage charge for the bigger 15 foot vehicle compared to the Cargo van we originally wanted. Hence why we changed. They also never disclosed the uhaul needed to be back by a certain time. ONLY indicated it needed to be back SOMETIME Saturday. Then I had the receiver call me the next morning and they it was rented out already for the day. It was huge mess. The truck was absolutely filthy inside. Over compensated by the armour all smell. There was cigarette burns in the seat and it stuck to high heaven. The financial NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED AT TIME OF CHECKOUT. Winona is deceiving. Very deceiving. Buyer beware, they will lie to you.

Stephen D | Overall ExperienceI ended up waiting well over an hour to pick up my truck which had been reserved over week in advance due to a POS system error. While this wasn't anyone's fault and the employee helping me did his best, he ended up making multiple reservations to try and get my order through. I followed up with the manager to make sure this wouldn't cause any issues and he assured me it wouldn't and also said he'd look into getting me a discount for the delay once I'd dropped the truck off. Not only did this not happen, but somehow one of the extraneous reservations ended up going through as I was called by UHAUL at my drop off location a week after returning my truck saying that I was late. So apparently a second reservation had been made for a completely different date range. Definitely would not recommend and if UHAUL didn't have a complete monopoly on self moving, I'd take my business elsewhere in the future. As they somehow do, I'll just have to be as defensive as possible in the future and make sure to always save receipts/document everything on my own.

ALLYN BI showed up an hour after store opening time and there was no one there (doors locked). I called the phone number, which rolled over to the Corporate help line (Jennefer was EXTREMELY helpful with my call). Store associate did not show up until roughly 8:45am. Almost two hours after store opening, and 45 minutes after I was supposed to pick up my trailer. After I returned my trailer (same day and in the designated drop off place) I got a call two days later asking if I needed a trailer return extension since it had not been returned. Overall, a simple acknowledgement that a mistake was made would have helped a lot. We've all oversleep or have forgotten before, and a confimation of the inconvenience would go a long way.

NATHANIEL BThe staff were always willing to help, but the first storage unit I recieved was locked with a red lock and they couldn’t figure out how to get in to it. So I was moved to another one and the same issues occurred. So I was moved to a third unit and the keys did not work with the lock. So finally moved me to a fourth one that was so far back that the moving company charged me an extra fee for having to move my stuff to the very back corner. Then they gave myself and my partner keys and he ended up not being able to find his keys and mine did not work with the lock. They stated that they did not have a master key even though it was their provided lock and that WE had to hire a lock smith to get it open. Then after finally getting in to the lock, I sent in and filled out the move out instructions and never got a response back and they tried to bill me again for another month. The staff was always very nice and tried to help best they could, but I don’t think they are given to the tools to perform their job well. The building was very safe and secure, but evidently a little too secure. I will not be storing my things here again.

KAYLA YWasn’t explained how anything works or Is done. Ended up being charged double for my trailer rental because I had returned the trailer myself before they opened. After the double charge I was told that if I had just dropped the trailer off without entering the return into my phone, there would have been no extra charge. I was then told I was not entitled to any return even though they agreed with me that I did everything right. Will never use their service again.
CARL DAfter a last minute change of pickup for the trailer. I initially reserved to pick up at this location, then the day before they moved it to another location about 15 minutes away. I specifically stated I needed it at 8am. The place you sent me to didnt open till 10!!!! After being transferred around 4-5 times (after calling the number on my reservation) and after being treated rudely, they sent me back to the original location for a bigger trailer. Not a great experience and not happy at all!!!! It was like no one, except Emily, wanted to help and basically said there is nothing we can do. Wow!! What great customer service you have.
JASON NThe attendant had us back up to trailer to have him hook it up. We then could not get it out of the stall and had to move 3 other trailers by hand ourselves to be able to move the trailer out of its spot. It took about 20 min before we could leave the lot
AMANDA OWe really loved the fact that you had a deal goinin time g on when you get a UHAL you were having a special that you get 1 month free storage and we appreciated it so very much and hopefully you'll have another deal like 👍 👌 that. I got it out just in time ⏲️ before the 16th. The day before and that worked out just fine. I had trouble with locking 🔒 it up so when I turned in the card and the 2 🔑. REID LThe delivery location changed, 3 hours after I picked up the truck. It added 35 minutes to my drop off location. I got a call around 300pm on Sunday asking when I was returning the truck, to which I responded today like my return stated. It had no time on the return, just a date. After I dropped the truck off, I was charged for extra miles, even after explaining that I only went over on mileage because they changed my drop off location to 35 miles further away than originally. If I had any other option I would pick it.

We took really good care of it. We even took it back earlier than expected and got a better deal on it afterwards. The key 🔑 was safe and sound leaving it there and going back the next day to get the actual paperwork. Thank you so very much for your services and they were greatly appreciated alot. Asked if there was a refund of my money for turning in truck a day earlier than I needed to. Was told I’m not sure but I don’t think so. No effort to check or look into it. Customer in front of me was asking about rates he had no information. I helped her and told her where to look to check rates and gave her the number I used to rent truck.

STEVEN SNo one was in the reception area. We waited 15 minutes and then saw someone on security cameras in the back of the building. I walked all the way back to flag someone down. We got our truck. We drove less than 5 miles and it died. We had to jump start it to get it running again. Then called to switch trucks, and on the return to the U-Haul store, the truck almost fell apart. Lost all electricity. No lights, no windshield wipers (it was pouring rain) no speedometer. It wouldn’t drive more than 30mph without clunking and jerking. As we entered the parking lot for U-Haul it entirely died, no gas power nothing. The attendant gave us a “better one”. We drove to our place, less than five miles and on the way the check engine light lit up. We loaded what needed to be done and then left. the truck would not drive more than 20/25mph. I had to put flashers on and drive the 6 miles to the new destination. I quickly returned the U-Haul truck after unloading. You need to better maintain trucks. This was a very stressful situation that should not have been if equipment was well maintained.
Erin SThe drivers side mirror was so loose that the wind would move the mirror out of position I had to reach out the window to adjust the mirror multiple times during the trip. Whoever had the truck either did not inform the rep at the company of the situation or it was not handled in maintenance When I returned the truck I took the representative at the location out to the truck and showed him the problem. Said he would tell the boss. Truck should not go out until problem is taken care of as there is no rear vision on the left side at times.
JERRY FI could never find a worker when needed. A sign saying use walkie talkie which you couldn’t because the battery was dead or no walkie talkie was there to use. If you did find someone - was told to come back tomorrow because they didn’t know how to help me.

When I logged in in July to pay for the current month, we were told we'd moved out in June (which we hadn't). After some clarification, it seemed to be straightened out. I logged in a few days later to pay for July only to be told again that we'd moved out in June. Still trying to find out if our stuff is even still in the unit.

I would start with getting rid of the little punks that sit on their phones all day. Then fixing the software they use. There has been other issues with renting trailers from this location also. I would never recommend a u-haul location to anyone. Very disappointing.

They would lock the doors to the garage at 6 pm when they didnt close them untill 7 pm i got locked in the garage one night untill 645 with my stuff had to call the office 3 times before they unlocked the door.

Chunks of concrete/tile are missing near the doors and it causes the carts to jerk quite a bit, I had things fall off more than once. Would be great if the units were accessible 24/7 but I understand why staffing concerns make this unrealistic. Other than the flooring near the door this is a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facility is well lit, secure, and clean.

My unit was ready to go when I arrived. The facility was very clean and plenty of flatbed carts were available. I recommend this newer facility which I expect will only continue to improve.
