Arnulfo G | Overall ExperienceThe staff was very uninformed. There was a problem with our ability to pick up the truck. However, when asked by the front desk how to resolve the issue, we were told that they did not know. They had to heavily rely on the manager to know how to do anything, and after everything we were directed to a different phone number to get the problem resolved. When I called the phone number to ask what the problem was, they also told me they did not know. Hard to resolve an issue that no one on your team seem to have an answer to what the problem even was, but there was just a problem. I gave updated card information, and we were able to get it completed. However, I was directed to another number that was my "account manager" who was the only person who would be able to tell me what the problem was so that we could avoid this in the future. They did not answer the phone; I left a voicemail and have not heard back since. Following the incident, I got four emails with four invoices, two of the four having different prices that we were going to be charged all of which were not the same as the estimated cost that we reserved online. Again, front desk was very little help and led to even more time invested to get to the bottom of why this happened. I was told it was a system error and that we would be charged $112 and some change. We ended up being charged $118 and some change instead. Very frustrating interaction overall.

STEVEN ALocation was fine, truck was fine (though 192,000 miles is getting up there). What was annoying was the 48-hour maximum local rental. I can’t think of any reason for this. Instead of leaving stuff in the truck and having it ready for loadout, I had to waste an hour unloading the truck and returning it. Then I have to waste another hour going to get the truck again Monday to finish loadout. Another rental. Another return. Another gas station trip. Plus, U-Haul missed out on at least a day of rental, all while the parking lot is full of trucks. This makes no sense on so many levels. Inconvenient for the customer, underutilizes the fleet, and ultimately reduced rental revenue. Dumb.

Alan UEverything was great until I was quite rudely asked to do the work of one of the employees, which was to check in the truck with him, all because he claimed to be too busy. He asked me to help him check all of the functions of the truck. I would have been okay with it if he said, "Do you mind helping me check all of the lights, etc, on the truck?", vice him saying, "Get in the truck and start it." This was said without a simple please or friendly gesture. I didn't have the time to spend, but then he said just leave as if he was offended because I wouldn't help him do his job.

Staff was very helpful when asked. Also, a full disclosure of all fees from UHaul for the rental up front would be appreciated. No one likes to get hit with more than $10 in undisclosed fees on the final bill.

DEREK DThe truck was not available for pick up at my location so had to drive across town to the woodman location. the U-Haul guy that had called me to let me know the changed pick up address had told me of a reduction in price for the inconvenience. when I had let this location know about this they said that the would not honor that discount. the overall experience with the woodman location was not pleasant and would not chose to use this location again.
BRIAN SIt takes 15 min, out of the 4 hour rental, to do pictures before releasing the vehicle, during 24/7. I feel like the clock should start after pictures are done. Also, ACC mode in the truck doesn't allow the fuel gauge to function in the truck. Without having a running vehicle next to a gas pump, there is no way to keep track of the fill up. Thus, overfilling and wasting money.

HAROLD OThe Pads were in bags that were tied so tight that the only way to get them open was to cut the knot. Just a minor inconvenience when thinking about re-usoing the bags for return of pads.

No info was given on the open ceiling. Now I have tarp over everything. There is a poison trap in my unit. What is that all about? It limits my storage space. The instructions stated I had to provide proof of insurance so I had to track down a copy of it. No one asked to see it. The dock area for entering the facility is poorly marked. Why does Uhaul need a copy of my drivers license, for goodness sake?!?! That's an invasion of privacy. No one checked it when I checked in. Why is a selfie needed? It was not used at the pin pad. Again, an invasion of privacy. How does Uhaul use this to protect me?! The online process was easy. The rest was painful.

So I had to pay 10 more dollars a month For an 8 x 10 unit and $10 for the lock which cost me more money as a single parent, I was not happy about that because $10 a month could go to tons of other things. The girl that checked me in, I believe she was the manager was not willing to give me the price. I was quoted online even though it wasn’t my fault as I was told, I had a reservation nor the free lock. so all the years that I have used U-Haul, which is a lot and the short amount of time that I worked for U-Haul in Florida I was pretty disappointed

So now I have a storage unit that I’m being charged for that’s inconvenient with its location compared to units much closer to my residence and it’s also costing me a lot more money on my truck rental because of all the additional mileage with the multiple trips.

Dates were incorrect at first and we were led into a spiderweb of phone numbers to call. Most said “ I can’t see that on my computer. You have to call…” frustrating but it worked out in the end. Far from seamless though. Address was not updated at Woodman properly (even though we had it shipped there). We had updated at the counter, but had to call again at a later time because they requested an updated address (?!)

I tried to extend my rental they denied me they made me unload my stuff off the truck into a storage unit. Now I have to rent another truck on Tuesday so I can move in to my apartment. They told me that they were not going to charge me for the whole thing but they did anyway. I got charged for my milage when I was told I had to go to another site to unload which put me over my milage limit. I feel I was taken advantage of. They also said the reason I couldn't keep the truck is because it was going back out the next morning at 730 Saturday. It was still at the U-Haul place at noon . As far as I know it never went out. The only thing that kept me from having to leave my stuff on the street is I qualified for a free storage unit. I have a 4 month old girl and my wife. We were unloading our stuff at 930 at night into the unit. Now we have to do this al over again. This U-Haul site is off of academy in Colorado springs. When I went to try to extend my rental a lady that I talked to in person said I could bring my rental in si they could see it was in one piece then I could do another contract with them so I could keep it until Tuesday when my apartment would be open. She told me not to worry about anything that she would take care of it for me then 30 minutes later she called me and said that they couldn't do that for me and I needed to have the truck back that night because it was going back out the next day at 730. I explained that I have All of our stuff in it and I didn't have any place to go with it. She told I need to get another truck from another site the next day at 730 at the woodman site and unload my stuff on to the other truck and have the first truck back at it's site at 730. I asked her how was I supposed to rent another truck unload my stuff on to that truck and have the first truck back at it's site at 730. I said I couldn't not drive 2 vehicles at once an that it is impossible to rent a truck unload my stuff and have the first truck back all at the same time. She is the one who told me that she would take care of this deal so I could keep the truck for as long as I needed it for. I was willing to pay for the whole weekend that is when she said they would just do another contract. She is the one who stepped out of her role an tried to play boss an said things that wasn't even possible to do. I would like to get a refund for all of it because people played told me things that they were able to do. All in all I got charged full price for only using the truck for half the time and got charged for all the millage when I had to go further out of the way to get another truck. I got a big screwing on this. Someone needs to do the rite thing and get my money back. Thank you from a person that will never use your service again and I will let people know that the service there is a rip off. I did try to resolve this situation with the site and got no where. All they wanted was the truck back an didn't care what happened to our stuff or anything that we needed.. I am not a rich person and I don't appreciate that your employee didn't consider that our 4 month old girl had to be out in the night unloading our stuff into storage. Do you have kids would you want your kids out in the middle of the night unloading your stuff. Probably not.

I will be using this same facility again should I return to Colorado Springs in the future.
John C | First ImpressionsThe people were fantastic to deal with. Facility was great! Easy and convenient. That said, the IT system sucked! Made it very difficult to reinstate a storage rental I had made there over a year before, due to the system losing my contract. The only thing that kept me from saying WTF and walking out with my stuff was how helpful, creative, and mutually frustrated the staff at the facility was. Great people! The fact that an inquiry leads to 45 minutes wasted while I was on a tight schedule to begin with was extremely frustrating. Again, this was no fault of the facilities employees. They truly saved the day and kept me as a customer, albeit one shaking their head over the problems with your information management! Fire your IT department! Give those folks at the facility a raise and an “way to go”!

The movers were nice and very good at reorganizing but the move took 5 hours. Which was 2 hours longer than I was told that it would take. I was disappointed to have my furniture moved because inevitably there was some damage to the wood. Not sure when it happened, either when it was moved in or moved to new space. But every tim I move there is risk of damage, so I hope that I don’t have to do this again. I’m glad to have 2 free months, but I hope you don’t raise rates on me AGAIN before I move out completely.

When I moved out 2 days later, I asked if I could get a prorated amount since uhaul cancelled my reservations. I was told to talk to the manager. So I called back several times and was never able to get ahold of Jen. I was told multiple times she would call me back, but never got any call from anyone. The facility was clean amd well kept but communication was non-existent from the manager when I needed help. All the other associates were nice and helpful. It was just frustrating to pay another month of storage when uhaul was the ones who cancelled my move in the first place.
Anna A | Overall ExperienceThe fact that you won't guarantee a truck or made changes to u-box drop off locations at will was extremely inconvenient for me, especially since I was moving out of state. The U-Haul storage facility was all good but they don't pro-rate the rental so I basically paid $60+ for 1 week. There is zero reasons why they can't pro-rate. I also got different answers from different people about the equipment rentals and pro-rating the storage unit. I will never use U-Haul again (I went with Penske and had a much better experience).

Corinne D | Overall ExperienceThe gentleman Shawn didn't know what he was doing, kept messing up the account and order, kept us at the facility for hours. I missed other appointments I had per that day, then having to go back and forth purchasing items, retrieving items because he did not know how to set up the account and save it, thus having to redo everything. He showed me the Storage and got plastic pieces stuck it in where it didn't want to lock had to contact someone to fix it. Then I received a phone call 8am to return a trailer I rented at 7pm for 24 hours stating it was over due, the lady that called me simply stated I will extend it and add stuff to my account that made no sense if Shawn and Chris told me the return time was 7pm the following day than to be harassed by someone not only calling my phone but my family members. Then I called back and asked her how did this make sense and she said for I told hold or that she would call me back because she had to assist other customers and never called back! Horrible service, horrible customer service, no military discounts available, waste of time, waste of taxing me everytime to purchase something additional after they forgot to mention a requirement of one item or another. I will not come back to this facility after this move. Disgusted.

Jeff H | Overall ExperienceI found this U-Haul Moving & Storage facility at Tiffany Square here in Colorado Springs not only clean and easily accessible (several dedicated loading/unloading parking spaces at the entrance) but GM Jason Carr to be very friendly & helpful -- as was Don, one of the other U-Haul employees who helped me on move-in day. Further, the rental rates are surprisingly reasonable, especially considering this is a climate-controlled facility in fairly expensive Colorado Springs. As I told Jason when I was "checking out," his Tiffany Square facility would be my FIRST choice should I ever need another storage room in the future.
