The truck was not available and my husband was sent to a totally different location. Very poor service

Louise MIt was so easy to rent a U-Haul. We even had to rent a second one quickly, and it was easy to do. Love the mobile app for easy pick up and return! The staff at this particular location was fantastic and super friendly and helpful!
Jeff OMy cargo van rental was scheduled for 8AM on a Sunday. This location opens their door at 9AM. My rental does not have keys in the same lock box as the truck, so I would need to wait for the doors to open to speak to an employee and get the support I needed. I was upgraded to a truck and supplied with what I needed through the Customer Service phone line, but the app itself did not allow me to return to the screen which explained where to find the vehicle number in the parking lot. I had to wait for the doors to open, to speak to someone, and get the support I needed. Customer Service acknowledged the process was problematic. The location is convenient to me and I've rented a vehicle in the past, which is why I would recommend it to a friend, but I would tell them if they booked a reservation online, they should call the location to verify the process of picking up the key and where the key would be stored. Otherwise, they will be waiting for the store to open to get the key and start moving.
Sasha DSometimes I have issues getting the picture of my driver's license to upload onto the app but - other than that - this location is great. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and they're the reason I continue to rent from this Uhaul location. Thanks!

ETHAN WMoving can be stressful but when you have Maurice as an employee at the front counter, he makes your moving day a breeze. From the very first interaction we had, his ability to multitask while ensuring he’s still attentive and his overall pleasantries and professionalism is something I admire. JOHN HI received an email a day or two before the rental date stating all pick ups and returns are now online. I arrived for pick up and didn’t realize there were several additional steps I needed to complete ahead of time. That took a while to figure out. The online return was very long and not user friendly.. if I need to rent a truck in the future I would probably seek a different company due to the cumbersome online process. U-Haul has in place.
David RGet more inside help. The poor guy helping was trying to wait on three of us at same time and there was a line beyond that. Staff was very helpful. Wish I had been told the ball size I needed in advance and that I would need an electrical adapter when I made rhe reservation. I paid much more than I expected having to purchase all the extras.
Rebecca WI am technically challenged but the cashier helped me with the app and checking in. I dislike that everything is online and on apps. It's so impersonal but kudos for the help! I had to search the lot for the rental truck in pouring rain, which was not in the lot but still parked in the maintenance area, which I could not access. Had to go back in the store and have an employee help track the truck down. He finally found it and brought it out for us. It had no gas so we had to immediately fill up.

stephen hI rented a 26' ft truck the pull-out ramp for the truck was hard to connect for unloading something wasn't right with the ramp! I've used U-Haul trucks before and never had trouble with pulling out the ramp and attaching it for unloading?
Warren HMy employer Junior Achievement of South Central PA rents 26' trucks from this location several times a year - always this location! We receive exceptional service every time! We rented a 26' truck this past weekend and when we opened the door, it wreaked of something dead! Several of our employees were gasping for air. We sprayed disinfectant in the vehicle so our equipment did not smell. I called UHaul and they suggested airing it out a bit..that was not an option as we are located in the city. I called and spoke with an associate, they made note of my call. When we returned the vehicle and described the smell, they said the previous customer hauled trash and now banned from using the trucks and we received a discount. Next week we are renting a truck for 3 weeks and I'm sure it will be in much better condition. Thank you!

Two people at the counter now willing to check me in…said to use the app. As happened the last two rentals th app doesn’t upload pics…back into the location and the two boneheads told we to back out of the app and take pics with my phone. I’ve averaged an hour picking up trucks based on the outdated app, twice I was remote and had to call in the 800 number just to be able to rent the truck. I NEVER TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE IN AN COMPLAIN, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Check in today was fantastic, women was professional, personable and knowledgeable, the trifecta!

Oddly, when I originally made the appointment online, your app gave me the choice of waiting or returning. Overall, however, the work was excellent. But I would recommend to anyone scheduling work there to check the weather forecast first.
Barry YBooking online was easy… the mobile check in was horrible. Not convenient, waste of time, never again. What’s the deal with calling someone who knows me, my work, my doctor? I already had been a customer over the years, have a U-Haul online account with my drivers license and credit card info saved. Again waste of time, I can’t believe this was rolled out. Windshield was dirty and was difficult to see when driving toward the sun. Other than that, everything else was great.

The explanation was “that happens sometimes just ignore it”. My keycard kept locking me out even with swiping out everytime. My door alarm would not shut off and ran for at least 5 minutes at one point with no response from staff. When moving out I found mouse droppings on top of multiple boxes of mine.

For 3 months my stuff was there and a friend of mine was telling me about Extra Space Storage, I spoke to someone who said they have a 10× 6 unit for $31 a month which is very reasonable and it's on the first floor. I am very happy there. U-Haul is a ripoff!!!!!

The worst part is that there were two roll up doors for loading/unloading when I rented the unit and they removed one and put up a cement block wall leaving only 1 access point. I went to get large items out of my unit 4 times waiting hours for other people to finish and move so I could gain access totaling 10 hours of wasted time. Dreadful experience.

Patrick H | Overall ExperienceStorage area was ok but the rental of the truck was a disaster first off I had to find the vehicle myself when it wasn't in the assigned parking spot and the guy sent out a guy to look for it and he came back in and started taking care of customer like I was a nobody and the vehicle was wrecked I went back in right away and reported it and the guy said take pictures but I'm sure we are aware of it he said and he said bring it back on half tank of gas and it was not on a half tank to begin with so took a picture of that with the mileage so they try and say I put more miles on it then what I did and also it wasn't even cleaned out it smelled like cow poop and in the front was dusty and leaves and dirt all over the floor and the passenger side seat looks like it had marijuana or dryed something on the seat so in my in my defense they didn't do anything to it at all I got it as is

While Uhaul the company offered zero customer service and forced me to hire a locksmith to service the unit and the lock that I paid UHAUL for service. The company who’s product failed, forced a paying polite customer to spend $135+ to service YOUR UNIT/PRODUCT. I didn’t rent a unit from a locksmith. I didn’t pay a locksmith for the UHAUL lock that immediately jammed. I didnt put my credit card and personal info on anyone else’s business account but yours UHAUL Your employees were helpful, but horrifically ill informed. Two employees agreed I could buy bolt cutters and deal with the failed lock myself. Your management is so greedy with knowledge ( to hold a totalitarian state) that neither (pleasant) employees was educated enough to tell a HIGHLY UPSET PAYING CUSTOMER. Thattttt, NO sir you cannot do that. It’s against policy, no bolt cutters won’t work. Not a word. Clearly poor management. So I'm not only in the hole for UHALS failed lock, also the unit. Which UHAUL refuses to service? Seriously? Its your bloody product. I'm now $325+ in the hole for 48hrs of tragic service/failed product. Your employees also kindly informed me I could get a refund. Before 30days of “service” expired. So I'm irrate to say the least.

Uhaul corporate needs to help Staff to know what exactly the size of each unit can hold. The young lady who opened my account looked on your site & tried to find the info out but it doesn’t explain/identify that clearly. For example, a 10x15x6 unit can fit a one to two bedroom apartment/home?! Yes/No?! Or is appropriate for a one bedroom apartment? I ended up not using your facility because you couldn’t tell me that and that was vital to knowing if my items could fit. That is a MAIN point of improvement and also it would be nice if you can let staff know what size can fit as noted above. The young lady was professional helpful and kind & I appreciated that.

Also I questioned why My Im being charged 10x10 rate while my storage is 8x8. I was told the price board was incorrect. It also seem that the website is incorrect too. Bottom line I've been overcharged for a storage room, while my expensive stuff sits in the hallway.

Also, I oy need a 5x5 but had to take and pay for one two sizes bigger. Also, this one is not as convenient as my other one but just as pri ey. However, we needed to inload our trailer right away.

From a trailer hitch installed upside down, to lost storage reservation, to Outrageous hold times, failure to end my storage lease after I moved out. Miscommunication and inept counter help. I will never use Uhaul again or refer to friends or family.

I also asked about a mouse problem since there was a big sticky mouse trap in the storage unit I was renting. I was told there wasn’t a problem. The only problem was the sticky mouse trap got stuck to one of my boxes and it cannot be removed no matter how much you pull at it. It seems to me there is a problem or there wouldn’t have been a mouse trap in my storage unit to begin with. One more thing to worry about.
Shelley E | First ImpressionsSupervisor was very disrespectful with my wife and when appropriately and respectfully approached about, he had a seemingly "i dont care" attitude and didnt even as much apologize or even try to understand his wrong doing. His only response was "ok" when I explained the situation that I wasn't there for and how criticizing a customer who didn't hear you for legitimate reasons is wrong. He simply walked away to avoid something he was wrong for which is completely unprofessional and he shouldn't be in a position he doesn't deserve with that negative attitude. I'm a 14 and ongoing army vet, I shouldn't have to worry about my wife having that kind of situation while I'm out with my daughter. If I trust you enough to do business with you for over a year with storage and utilize your vehicle services why do I need to worry about her going into your facility and dealing with your employees? Do I need to go in from now on to fend for myself just to do business?

I received an email about it and quickly called and made a payment as well as set up for auto pay. The thing that upset me is that in that time (two days...first time late) they had already sent letters to BOTH of my contact people about me not paying. That's when I decided to up my timeline and get moved out before paying anymore. Everything else was great, but that seemed a bit harsh and quick.
