The tow dolly was old and worn out. Sorry excuse for equipment. The person who help load me went way way above helping. Her first name started with a T. She was amazing and worked very hard dealing with the equipment. Besides. I made the reservation ten days in advance and still they canceled for the day I needed it. Poor excuses

Tori’s communicated clearly and was friendly. She was efficient and seemed to be trying to get customers served as quickly as possibly. The store itself seemed crowded with supplies and made people weirdly wonder on where to stand to wait in line. We were glad the truck had great a/c and cruise control.

Faster pickup times, the location seemed under staffed and the staff were struggling with the internet connection. Additionally our truck was double parked behind another one that had to be moved. Having the dolly and blankets that you have to pay to use taking up space in the back of the truck was frustrating.

The wrong car was given to us. We were overcharged for a small truck for less than half the day, more than $100. I informed the workers that the gas gage and, the miles and the license plate were wrong and they told me just to change it myself. Gentlemen with the cowboy hat should be fired. Take your job seriously. Ive heard from multiple people midcity location sucks and the employees are awful. The black gentleman seems chill and super awesome at his job. Cowboy hat mustache sucks

I worked with a competent and friendly and helpful manager, though they had to leave in the middle of the transaction and pass me on to another worker. My brother had made the reservation for a truck in advance and I was added as the second driver beforehand so that I could pick it up for him. Well, when you pick up the truck they require all drivers to be present or at least to physically take a picture of their drivers license at that moment. Well, he was having me pick up the truck because he had been driving a big rig all night and was asleep, so he couldn't scan his license (AGAIN). Also, I hadn't brought my physical license because I carry mine digitally (Yes, Utah has a digital License app with it being official, the cops and TSA and my bank take it as official, but Uhaul does not). So I had to have my wife submit the physical picture of my license using a link to uhaul's site. Also, because my brother couldn't do his, I had to change the entire reservation to be ME renting the truck instead, and add him as an additional driver later in the app. YUCK. Surely there are improvements to this process to be made.

Staff lacked the sense of urgency , there was a long line and the staff still took their sweet time to bicker among themselves in front of the customers, at one point the other guy even just walked out. Unprofessional.

In years past i always got a refund for furniture pads that I did not use. Apparently your policy has changed and I didn't use half of my furniture pads but manager said that there was nothing he could do about it. I wish I would have know that, i wouldn't have purchased so many furniture pads in the first place

Excellent customer service. Unfortunately the trailer didn't work out for me, the equipment didn't fit through the rear gate, so returned it immediately. 6' wide trailer does not mean 6' wide loading gate. Dumb of me for not double checking.

I got charged 44 for gas even though I brought it back exactly at 3/4 of a tank which is what I picked it up with. I think they scammed me by registering it in the system as a full tank pick up. Drove in less than 10 miles and added a few dollars to the tank. Very disappointed, as I’ve never had this happen with using U-Haul before. I would definitely like this to be addressed. Very unethical, especially with how expensive gas is currently.

The gas gauge was significantly inaccurate when I occupied the truck. You said it was 1/4 full when it was below 1/8 and I got charged extra for your mistake. Please refund my money.

They overbooked and didn’t have my reservation. Forced me to use a smaller truck that didn’t fit my move and required to do round trip rather than one way. And charged me extra on top of it despite telling me they wouldn’t.

Very busy, understaffed, and a small lot led to long wait times. People were parking their cars directly where the larger trucks needed to pull out. One person was working the counter. Staff was helpful but they need more help in there.

U-Haul you need better software for your employees. It took 1 hour for me to get my rental, the manager had to do a offline contract due to your system being down. When I return the equipment they couldn’t check me in correctly which caused me to drive back 3 hours later to manually close out my rental contract. For a billion dollar company please invest in better software.

I highly recommend this team. They were reliable, communicative, and careful with my belongings from start to finish. Even when my plans changed unexpectedly and the move took longer than expected, they handled everything with patience and professionalism, which I truly appreciated. Having worked with other moving helpers before, I could immediately tell how attentive and experienced this team was. They communicated clearly, showed up on time, handled my belongings with care, and stayed focused on doing the job right. From booking through U-Haul to the completion of the move, they were a pleasure to work with. They truly deserve recognition for the quality of their work and the care they put into it.

The pick up location was very crowded. I do understand that it is Salt Lake City, Utah. The equipment was very clean in the back of the box where I would store all my items. The whole process of getting the reservation was way more time-consuming than I have ever spent with U-Haul. I was moving out of a semi truck, needed to hit my storage unit to get all my items out of there, and then drive to Pendleton, Oregon. There was a discrepancy in what I was quoted versus what I was being asked for in person. This did get handled and I’m very grateful. The people I spoke to in customer service completely took care of me. Thank you so much. You guys were totally on your “a “game. I have worked in sales, door-to-door, retail and many other capacities. So I recognize quality customer service when I see it and when I receive it. Unfortunately, due to the amount of time this all took and the fact that I was needing to drive straight through, I did not arrive in Pendleton until about 4:35 AM the the following day. So it was a very long day. I had already been up since 4 AM to make my final delivery with the trucking outfit I was working for. I had really hoped on getting a U-Haul, emptying my truck into it and going to a storage unit to empty it and make it to Pendleton before midnight. 4:30 AM was a 24 hour day that I have been up with without even a nap. I am in Pendleton now. I am moved in to live with my girlfriend and search for local employment options here. Thank you again to the customer service team that totally tackled the discrepancy in my reservation and getting me on the road with a 10 foot box truck.

If a customer has already checked in and uploaded the driver license photo and information it would be nice to have a separate line so those who already checked in don’t need to wait for those who didn’t take the time to check in.

The only issue was not putting Furniture blankets in the truck. U-Haul has a flaw in operations. A request is sent to take a picture of the the back of the truck about 30 minutes after a client has already left. Then the link to upload when already driving. The counter person would be a better point of contact, BEFORE a client leaves the lot.

Every person I worked with was very friendly and knowledgeable! The general manager was amazing she helped me and another woman at the same time and was very efficient. I wasn’t really informed about the $5 upgrade option for the insurance prior to leaving the lot and considering how I paid $3 to save the planet I’m sure I would’ve liked to know about the $5 but all I saw on the keypad was a $17 and a $35 option so maybe a little clarification would have been helpful.

I showed up to get my reservation early on Monday, there was one new person working there and training another person. There were a couple of people waiting when I arrived so I planned on waiting for a bit however it was ridiculous how long it was taking. The girl behind the counter told me that if I wanted to download the app I could check myself in. I tried to get the app downloaded but the internet was very slow. Finally the girl in training said that she could help me but I needed to be patient because she was new. My patience is thin by now, but I understood that she was new and that can frustrating for her. Currently, she got some kind of notification on her computer that they couldn’t rent to me that I needed to call an 800 number and that I owed money. I knew that was not correct and now I was now late for an appointment. The girls behind the counter said that there was nothing they could do and I needed to call the 800 number, which I did and was placed on hold for thirty two minutes only to have the guy on the other end of the line to tell me that it was the fault of uhaul and that he could see my payment and that a mistake was made on their part. It felt as though it was a low budget (no pun intended) company. I was now late for my appointment, dealt with a staff that was not prepared to handle truck rentals. I planned on just running in and getting the truck, since made the reservation online the day before and ended up in there for almost two hours! I won’t be back nor will I recommend anyone else to.

The truck box leaked water. The U-Haul employees said they do a "light test" to see if they can find holes, but it seems like a better process could be put in place.
