My unit was immediately broken into and belongings stolen because there was no security. I filed a claim and the owner denied it. Then spent a fortune securing the entire facility. Fences, cameras, lights, etc… It had none and the gate was pried open for months. As well as just hopping the fence, next to a casino. The ladies who clean the facility say they have to call people all the time whose things are stolen. Its an illegal, shady racket you'll need a lawyer to rent a unit. Stay away. I intentionally chose a name brand facility for s3curity and had $40k worth of irreplaceable items taken forever.

There was no security and no lighting and the front gate was bent open, so someone came waltzing in, cut the lock off my unit, and stole over $40k worth of my belongings. No one at UHaul would help, and in fact the opposite. I got stonewalled by the owner, and his insurance comany, and he and the Insurance company lied to me and said they weren't even his carrier. They are. And they denied the claim based on nothing. I plan to file a claim with the KY insurance commissioner for denying a claim in bad faith. I would NOT recommend this UHAUL nor ANY Uhaul storage at this point. The reason I stored it with UHaul SPECIFICALLY was for security. And everything I valued is now gone forever. I make sure to tell everyone the story I meet. I will get my pound of flesh with or without UHaul.

When I first arrived, I spoke with a helpful lady at the front, but unfortunately, the rest of the staff made the experience frustrating. Several employees were loudly talking and yelling among themselves, which made it difficult for the woman assisting me to hear anything I said. I had to raise my voice just to be heard, and she reacted by rolling her eyes and sighing, as if I was the problem — even though I was just trying to communicate because she kept telling me she couldn’t hear me and couldn’t make sense of what I was saying We ended up leaving and calling U-Haul customer service to fix everything over the phone. When we came back to pick up our reservation, the second person who helped us was friendly but seemed very unsure of the process. He had to redo things multiple times and kept asking for our information again and again. Overall, aside from the poor staff experience, the actual rental process itself was straightforward and easy once everything was finally in place.

I rented a U-Haul unit and received no instructions on how to access the location, which is a clear example of poor management and a lack of consideration for customer needs. After hours of frustrating trial and error to figure out the location, I finally found it, only to discover that the entrance was in an unsafe condition, covered in ice. This hazard was not addressed or even communicated to customers, showing negligence in ensuring basic safety standards. As a result, I slipped and fell, injuring my hand. While the wound was relatively superficial, it bled heavily, caused significant pain, and could have been much worse. This experience highlights multiple issues: the lack of clear communication, inadequate maintenance of the property, and the absence of measures to ensure customer safety. These shortcomings not only reflect poor administrative practices but also pose serious risks to the health and well-being of customers.

I was an existing storage unit owner before U-Haul took over my storage complex. I never had issues accessing my unit or contacting the office before the switch. After the switch I have had to call and chat with the help line multiple times and while the customer service representatives online and at the call center were very helpful and would reach out to the appropriate parties I did not hear from someone regarding my issue until I called a second time. I could not access my unit on multiple occasions ever thought it was during the hours stated online. The cherry on top was when I couldn’t access my unit one afternoon on the weekend and I had to put off moving due to this and was out $120 it took to rent the truck to move. I called the helpline and they left a voice mail with the GM and location but I didn’t hear back. Then I had enough and decided to get rid of my unit. I moved my things, I completed the move out form, and waited. I waited for a week! Again had to reach out to the online help center to have my issue resolved. Calling or chatting with customer service shouldn’t be the normal way to get things accomplished with a company.

When ownership changes to uhaul, I could never get anyone in the office. In person, they were never there and when I called they weren’t there. They cut hours apparently and I had no access after 6pm. The 800 number couldn’t help as they said it was up to local to get access you couldn’t get in touch with anyone locally. There was literally zero customer service and not being able to access your stuff without communication or a contact that responds is very poor service. I will not rent another storage from uhaul. I was there three years and always paid on time.

The card swipe system for entry and building access was annoying and made the process of loading our space unnecessarily difficult. Our unit was close to sliding doors to the building, but there was no way to keep the doors open while we loaded in without constantly swiping the card entry device (which eventually stops working), or having someone stand inside the building near the door to activate it from its motion sensor. It was ridiculous that you provided no way for simple entry to the building. I’ve never had such difficulty in any other storage facility

I was not told that my check in was at a different facility than my storage. That was extremely frustrating. Then after getting my items and going to the other facility to finalize, I was ask did I take a picture. No one told me that I was supposed to take a picture when the storage was empty. Better communication would make life a lot easier for your clientele. The ones paying your bills!

More security to the building was added about two weeks before I moved out, so conditions are much better than when I moved in. There was no coded box to get into the storage building, and also no staff on site. I took my dog with me because I didn't feel safe being there by myself. Also, they do not supplies flat carts to move your items in and out. I would have definitely gotten a drive up storage unit if I had known that.

Well online was clearly stated there would be a lock waiting for me inside the unit. They was not lock. Front office was closed so I called the number I got online and this woman from the Preston street U-haul tells me to come over there to get the free lock….so that was not the agreement I sign and was told the lock would be in the unit…. So I gotta spend more gas money to drive all over town, plus I not from here so I drive back and froth to get all my stuff to this unit……..big inconvenience the lock not being there like the online agreement stated

Before placing my goods in storage, my son and I checked out several self storage facilities. This one was BY FAR superior. (At the time it was Cube Smart). We needed climate controlled. Everyone we have dealt with has been friendly and helpful. The only thing I miss is the on site office being open. However, I like the 24 hour access so I guess that evens things out. If I ever need a storage unit in the future, I will definitely be back. FYI-in the last several years I have had the need to pack up two different households. We always bought our boxes and tape and any other needed supplies from U-haul on Preston Highway. It was always the “go to” place for supplies! Thank you U-hail!

I want to recognize the im assuming manager (the person's cell phone number that is posted) for being amazing and going above and beyond on 4th of July weekend trying to help me gain access to my storage unit when the access code to the front gate wouldn't work. We were very happy when the storage unit was with cube smart. When U-Haul first took over, one of the employees told us that our rates were not going to go up for a year. Literally the next day we got an email saying that our rates were going up then it was crazy with all of the U-Haul trucks going in and out of the facility. It was almost impossible to navigate that. After the trucks went away, one of our units got broken into. It is almost impossible to get someone to help us whenever we need something.

I was with Cubesmart only a short time with a promotional rent before uhaul came in and immediately withdrew the promo pricing the next month. The office was vacated and rules of admission changed. I felt bamboozled as I could not get all my stuff out for several months and had to throw out several items because the cost was too high.

System was down, so I could not access the storage units. The employee helped me get set up at another location on Poplar Level. Once there I was given a unit that was already in use. I called and they were able to help me get into a unit just a few doors down. They were very helpful

I was a cube smart customer. They were kind, communicative, and available. The Uhaul staff was the opposite. Too many stories to tell here. Terrible customer service. Just terrible. Impossible to get a hold of a staff member. Locked our unit 3 times without warning and without any payment issues.

The ceiling continued to dropped little black pieces onto my boxes and bags. There is a dangerous dip in the floor to the right and about a quarter of the way in from the door. I lost my balance a couple of times, and could have sprained my ankle or broken a bone. PLEASE FIX THIS before you rent unit 1007 again. YOU COULD GET SUED!!!

I’ve been trying to call for over a month to let them know I no longer needed the unit. Instead of answering my calls or voicemails they sent me a bill, which is crazy because I wasn’t even in that unit for the entire month. Their poor communication skills are not my issue, so I shouldn’t have to pay the price.

Place is INFESTED with ROACHES. ! I went to put my things into climate controlled storage and it was infested with baby roaches in there. Place looks clean but if you run your hand down the shuttles of the units as I did, just “lolly gagging” while walking. Baby roaches will come out of all the units. Made a post on fb & others commented sharing similar experiences. Wouldn’t let me post my review unless I chose excellent.

I asked for a climate controlled unit, and I had a 26’ uhaul truck full of belongings that needed to be unloaded same day, 3/12/23. The climate controlled unit closed at 5pm, when online it said drop offs would be available until 10pm. I had no choice but to come to Lynnview to unload my belongings. I didn’t get the same size unit I originally asked for, and we had to cram everything in to make it happen. Lynnview is a very nice storage facility, it’s just not what I wanted.

So far so good. The contract just started. It's the move-out that matters. The location is new and clean, and I love the app and online ease of checking in. I've had to sit around UHaul showrooms forever waiting to be checked in, and the online capability and app are luxurious.

There's no cameras or security on the lot that has campers. Trucks are on the lot parked ,but no security. My unit was broken in they stold all my belongings, there was other units that were broken in to ,lea did nothing to help me ,I called her 5 time's no luck .

The two women(1 white, 1 black) behind the counter aren't very friendly. I don't care if I get there 5 mins before you close to pick up the truck I had reserved, it's your job. They just don't seem very eager to help you, like your bothering them by being there. Told me not to leave until I checked in on the text, well I did but the gas was wrong on the truck, as was the miles. In the 10min it took to drive back and find the thing(bc they didn't bring it to me) they had left and locked up. So when I had a question, there's no one to answer it. I had a schedule to try and keep so I couldn't come back another day. Thankfully there were no discrepancies with the gas level but it could've been a mess. Employees shouldn't leave until the last customer has left. It was dec.23 not Dec 24 so idk what the rush was.

I had my boat in P001 for 2 years and P003 for 9 months. Once U-Haul arrived I was moving BOTH boats out in 2 months because of the bad service at this location. It has been a nightmare from my boats always blocked in by your trucks to being harassed for a past due bill and threat of lien for P001 which I didn't owe. But Lea the manager could not be reached. Not via phone or replies to her email. I have voice recordings from Nov 23rd visit to the office where they assured me I was moved out. I have another recording where the 800 number gent said I should have been moved out already. I have a 3rd recording of me in the office again yesterday asking why do I have another lien notice?! Let me know where to send the recordings. I feel I was harassed and stressed, and am owed a few months of free rent for my existing unit still remaining. Leon Johnson was very professional and appreciate his assistance. The manager wouldn't even call me back after I left the office. She had Leon call. This is not over. There are others who are going through my same experience and stressed, yet don't have the same legal resources that I do. I need to know that this is fixed NOW. I need reassurance that every single customer has a LOCAL phone number to call whem they get a lien email. I need to know that every customer's account is audited to find ones that should not be harassed and understand how this happened to me. Please advise, because I got no answers locally. There are a few very nice and professional people I've encountered at the location in addition to Leon btw. They are the only reason I am in no rush to close my other remaining two units but I still plan to Thank you.

According to my contract I was to return the equipment to 4612 Preston Hwy Louisville, Ky. I also received this location in a text message from U-Haul. Upon arriving at this location I found it was closed due to remodeling. A note posted on the door said equipment was to be returned to 4530 Poplar Level Rd. Louisville, Ky. Extra miles. Why didn't U-Haul know that Preston Hwy location was closed for remodeling? U-Haul needs to work real hard on communicating with their agents/dealers.

While the staff here was really amazing the facility is a mess. I originally rented from Cube Smart and then Uhaul took over. When you pull in there are moving trucks everywhere and it makes it hard to get to your unit. When I was moving out I had to park pretty far away from my unit due to lack of space from uhaul trucks that were waiting to be rented.

Tried calling the listed number to contact someone at this location( U-haul storage at Lynnview 4530 Poplar Level road Louisville KY) and all it does is say person not available at this time. I called several times and same issue. Went the location and the clerk says oh yeah does it all the time. Thats not good for service! Other then that had no issues at all with the transporter. I've used U-haul over the years and they are pretty much flaw- less on the condition of the equipment but its always the communication part that a hassle when it comes to talking one on one at some big city locations. Most small rural dealers are on the spot! Real customer service is what I'm used to. I know things change but do all things really need change ? Not when it comes to personal service. People seem to stick with a company because they feel like they had personal service, not personal computer service. I do like that anytime of the day you call chat with someone at the main Uhaul site. In fact I had to check with them due to the fact I had to keep the hauler longer then 10 hrs. Person on the U-haul site chat texted right back with in minutes and told me I had until 8:30 the next morning! Like I said communication is the key to great service! Thank you!

Had to wait 1hour because apparently a key to the office was not left in the lock box. Two people got in a uhaul truck and left to get a key. I’m sure it wasn’t their fault but I was aggravated for having to wait for that hour. It put me behind schedule. Other than that all was good.

I moved out after uhaul took over. There was never trash left behind or gates left unlocked for days. Beer cans in hallway of large building for days. Masks on floor. Impossible to move large trailers around to access our unit with the rental trucks everywhere. Staff playing on golf cart with all the family there. Maybe it’s uhaul standard, but disappointing service after cube smart. Plus we never needed mouse/rat traps or had roaches before. Clean it up.

I was very upset that I had to go to Poplar Level from Dixie Highway to get the Dolly I ordered online from the Dixie location wasting time, gas, & money!! If a store doesn't have these things why does the website allow you to order them?!! Then I was told I could leave the appliance Dolly in the truck on Dixie since the Poplar Level store was closed I hope I won't be charged extra for this!!

Was very upset that was charged after I moved out. I was with cube storage previously I made a on time pmt told them I would be moving out before the next due date. My card was retained and set up as auto. I did not give permission for this don’t appreciate it. Had a very hard time getting a hold of the site Mgr hardly there didn’t answer the phone to get this corrected. Not very friendly staff. Also you have too many rental trucks blocking the side hard to get through. When I got a hold of another Mgr. Told him all my concerns. He says oh well sounds like your done with uhaul won’t need us any longer. That s a way to keep customers in any future things needed

How can a company that's taking over due to the circumstances at hand be so messy?!!! I had tried to pay for my rent that (yes was LATE) with a MONEY ORDER. Because the was a late charge added to my balance I was trying to pay $2 extra but the receptionist told me she couldn't accept the money order due to the amount being the EXACT AMOUNT! I mean REALLY?!! Considering that THIS company JUST took over and the CUSTOMERS had to find out that another company had taken over by coming up to the location instead of sending out a memo to inform the customers of what happened THE PROPER WAY. Then on top of that you're not willing to give the customers a "Grace Period" so that they can get adjusted to the new company and guidelines of this new company. How you gonna start adding on late fees when they current customers don't know the new fees or if their monthly rent is gonna remain what it first was. The situation itself was quite naturally blindsiding so we didn't know what our fee/rent was or is. Then this company is SO QUICK to send "A LATE FEE NOTICE" in the mail informing the customer that their payment is past due. Just TACKY!!!

The people at this store were amazing with all things considered. They seemed to be adjusting as best they could considering uhaul is so disorganized. Worst service experience I have ever had. Two stores did not have the equipment I reserved. The second one was arranged by uhaul themselves. Part of the time I paid for was used by the stores to find my stuff. My truck had glass and dirt in it. I had to extend my time because the materials I requested were unavailable. I was also charged a hold fee for each time they did not have the things I requested. Then the customer service representatives were sarcastic and dismissive of everything I said. A $65 expensive ended up costing over $200 and I will never use this company again. I will tell my friends never to use them.

Truck was reported stolen.. never was put in the computer til I returned it.. cost me a little more because of it.. Luckily I didn't get pulled over and go to jail. They have the trucks locked up, so for them to report it stolen when the mistake was on them, scared me enough.. If I had went to jail, I been really upset..

The employees were nice. They did their job well. The truck was in poor condition. The brakes feel like they are going out. It would be dangerous to use that truck for a long trip, full of whatever. Thankfully, we only needed it for a local 20 mile round trip job. Additionally, the outside had scads of deep scratches all the way around. Just curious, why these things were not fixed?

Terisha was amazing. We could tell she and her staff wasn't having the greatest morning due to customers not returning vehicles on time, but Terisha did the best she could multi-tasking between myself and another customer. And when she saw a customer hadn't returned the pickup truck we were there to rent, she upgraded our vehicle at no cost. We had excellent service, and we will return as customers.
