The electrical connector that was installed does not function correctly.

BUJI SI'm always worried that I didn't provide enough gas or that you found a dent. I wish that as soon as an employee checks van/truck that you send an automatic email saying that everything checked out and that customer doesn't have anything to worry about
DENIS LVery pleasant and easy experience. The place was busy but the throughput was good so the wait was minimal.
JOHN VTrailer had a strong smell of gasoline inside. I mentioned it at pickup. The staff member seemed very busy and didn’t offer to clean it. However, when I mentioned it at drop off, the manager offered to discount the bill to compensate me. That was a fair solution after the fact.
THOMAS GI reserved a van online at a different location because I could walk there. I received confirmation, so I finalized my plans. Then I received a message from the Tigard location saying that a van was not available at the on the day and location I had reserved. So I had to scramble to find a ride to the Tigard location for pick up. I understand that these things happen, but it was very inconvenient for me, and if I hadn’t received the initial confirmation, I could have made arrangements for a different day.

TODD HWe were held up in traffic coming down from Tacoma to pick-up our reservation for rental pick-up in Tigard, OR to move one semi-heavy box (90 Lbs). Since our GPS said we would arrive at 7:04 p,m,(4 minutes after 7 pm closing time), we called ahead and asked if it would be better for us to still come by or pick up in the morning or to go by the rental center. We were told that a communication was sent to Asst. Manager Shane and that we could go ahead to that location. Upon arrival, Shane was still moving a van truck around in the yard. When he came inside about 10 minutes later, it was about 7:14pm. We were sent an extra "after hours charge", of $20, even though we would have been happy to come in the next morning. We only used the truck for about 2 hours, and returned the truck same night using drop box.
WINFIELD WThe doors would not shut properly and the seatbelt had a malfunction. All of which the representative at the place acknowledged and knew about when I dropped it off

LESLIE EVery easy to reserve truck on line and to pick up truck. I returned the truck early and night time drop off was easy. Renting a truck to facilitate a move is so much easier than making lots of trips with a pick up. Well worth the money, and honestly it's not that expensive. It made my daughter's move so much easier.

LYNNE BI wanted to recognize Mike, he took extra time to orient me to the vehicle and made me feel more confident in driving. Of note, he was not my representative. My representative who checked me in gave me the keys, and said I would be fine. He did not offer to back the van out. Mike did it without hesitation! Thanks Mike for your help!!!

RICHARD AU-Haul trailers are a real bargain. The app makes reserving easy. The Tigard location people are super nice and efficient, and the equipment is always clean and in excellent condition.
CHARLES RI think it would be fair to have someone make sure that the cargo van is nice and clean, especially when you have a rental reservation for three days. The cargo van absolutely stunk of stale cigarette smoke. Clearly, someone had previously been smoking in the van.I tried using some air freshener and wet wipes, but the stale tobacco smell seemed to be ingrained into the vehicle. I don’t think it would’ve been so much a problem if I only had the van for shorter errands for a couple of hours, but I had it for 3 days and it was pretty unpleasant. The interior was generally grimy and the mirrors were also dirty. I had to clean them for safer driving. I’m pretty dissatisfied with this experience, especially when I paid so much.

MARK DThe U-Haul app is horrible. Performance loading pages was 10 seconds or more. So many things to click through, and it asked for information and then got upset when the information was the same as what was on my reservation. Once the reservation is made there needs to be an email counselling people to do the pre-check in activities before going to the site. Additionally, the scan function did not work. It was quite frustrating. Additionally, about 1 hour before the reservation there needs to be a text that says where to go with a link to the reservation, and again, to fill out the check-in before you get there. People who are moving need a SUPER friendly interface, they already have a LOT they are dealing with. It was too bad because the truck was excellent and the service is very good. Counter help was wonderful although the blankets and dolly I rented were not in the truck which I found out when I got to the moving site and had to come back :( Still, they put in the blankets without any fuss once I asked. Perhaps a reminder to check the truck for everything before leaving the lot. Parking while you have the truck rented was on the street and not convenient. Need to make space on the lot for parking for people who are renting for 1-2 days. Overall, i would rent from UHaul again. The reservation process was ok - too many upsells and hard to figure out how to skip those as they were in different places on each page. Hire a UX Designer for your website. But, the truck was good and that was what really matters.

Angela KI rented a vehicle and expected to use for a few days. I then got a call from staff saying that I had to return it because they had rented it to someone else. I was assured that I could swap it for another vehicel that would suit my needs. I exchanged it for the other vehice only to find out it would not suit my needs. And, I was charged for this crappy experience. Plus the lost time and cost for my staff.

I contacted an employee, and was referred to the manager, but I was unable to negotiate a correction in the pricing. I looked at a 14 foot unit, (since that size is almost spot on the size that I received) and it turned out to be 13 feet, and one inch, from the back wall to the back of the door. This constitutes false advertising. The staff members were otherwise, helpful and efficient. There is much that I like, with the actual size of the units being the only negative point.

Rose N | First ImpressionsWhen I originally booked the yhaul truck we asked for a tow dolly in addition in the case my car didn't sell before the move. 2 days before we left from AZ to OR Uhaul called to tell me the tow dolly was not in the city I requested but 45 min away, if I wanted it. Having 1.5 hours of free time when clearing out 2 large storage units is next to impossible with only myself & a friend. Happily, I sold my car the next day. So, I canceled the tow dolly which unbeknownst to me, canceled my entire registration. Called Tigard office, to make sure I had a unit to unload the day we arrived. Uhaul agent had to redo everything and assured me it was locked in. The following morning at 4am I got an email that said, "sorry you decided not to use our facilities for storage, was it something we did?" I called the gal back the next say after reading my info was messed up again. I arrive at 115?? Sw pacific Hwy and they can't find my reservation, again. I looked thru emails with confirmation #s and still, I wasn't in the system. They used my email after 40min not finding me on the system. They tried my email & found it. Meanwhile my sister, brother in law drove in from out of town to help inload, were waiting in their car for me and my friend who drove the truck. They give me a swipe card for the gate and locked up as it was after 5pm on a Sunday. We got in, unloaded & then we're LOCKED INSIDE THE STORAGE AREA BEHIND THE GATE. The gate ended up having a mechanical error, so it was over an hour of idling in the rain, burning Uhaul gas. 1-800 called roadside assistance & tried to open gate electronically but that failed. So they called the GM at home & asked him to come & manly unlock it. He did. Wasn't the friendliest bloke around. Took Uhaul truck key from me after I said I'd be back tomorrow to fill it with gas. He told me I was not allowed to park where the gal told me I could the night before. Told me his staff knows better than to do that. Yet, I'm jist all Learning this from him after talking at length to a very helpful agent in Tigard. I have no more energy to continue the events that happened. I was quoted $17** for the move price and when I used my sister credit card, it bumped up to $19**. It was a miserable trip back in the rain, unloading in the pouring rain. My things will most certainly get moldy if I don't dry them off. Returning to the uhaul was a nightmare being locked in. We waved down passers-by and asked them to try to scan the gate card & nothing. I will most likely use another moving rental truck company in the future.

They one month after paying my 214.00 then they sent me a late payment notice and when I called to find out why, it was because THEY had credited my 214.00 to someone else's card which was verified by my bank who also was on this call and to this day I still have NOT received that payment back. I also discovered they have rodents in the storages since there is rodent droppings and clothes with chew marks everywhere ruined so much of my stuff. The GM won't ever talk to you no matter why you call and he will note your file negatively with no exceptions and won't tell you. WORST TWO YEAR EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

When I showed up to start the rental on the morning of my move, I was told that the size locker I had reserved (the largest) was not available and I would have to rent a different size. I reserved one slightly smaller and wound up squeezing the items in so that there’s not nearly the access to remove individual items that would’ve been possible with the size I had reserved. My overall rating of “average” is meant to express a midpoint between being extremely unhappy about the false reservation, and the manager trying to be helpful to make things work out for me. The reason I would not recommend U-Haul to somebody else is because I was told there has been an ongoing problem of the reservation center making reservations that the local facility could not keep. Therefore, it would be a risk to recommend U-Haul to anyone.

It wasn't until I walked up to the office and said I need another 10x15. But great for upselling. Unfotunately, I will go somewhere else next time unless I am refunded for one of them. Also if i rent a truck I would not expect blankets and a dolly in it taking up space that i need in a truck.

The doors to the unit area had no way to hold them open and one of the doors would not open. The ground before entering the unit section was very rough pavement making it difficult to use a dolly. There was a truck with a flat blocking one side of the pavement that was there for at least two days.

This location need to be under new management and staff needs to be retrained by someone who cares about customer service. The national customer service was amazing and I appreciate their support but the location was rude when I was in person and did not answer emails or voicemails. After I moved out they did not do a walk through until 10 days later. Someone moved junk into my unit. Does not make the facility feel secure. Luckily I used a professional moving company and had evidence that everything was removed from my unit. No one from the location called to inform me about things in the unit. It took over 15 phone calls and 2 months to find out. Thank goodness for the national customer services team that went above and beyond to solve the issue.
Keri J | Overall ExperienceI will be leaving this review on Google where I'm in the top 10% of reviewers and have hundreds of thousands of views of my reviews an photos. I had a terrible experience and so much of it was poor management and decisions made by Uhaul Staff, especially at this location. I was supposed to drop off and store at the Aloha location. They would not reserve a unit over the phone and when I arrived and waited in line, he told me I can get a unit in Tigard. By this time traffic was bad to get there, once I did, there was confusion and it took time to get my Truck and AT figured out. First when arriving and attempting to park and go in, I was told by outside staff to go down to the lower parking lot to take my car off, but this was before I had checked in. Once I went down there I had no idea what to do or where to go or how to do this as there is no designated area . When i came back up then i was given better instructions from staff inside. I was given a unit too small. They also required me to back up my trailer to park it which took extra time because I'm not experienced and staff kept telling me to wait before I could park because drivers and vans kept coming in. Then it took even MORE time with staff Making me wait for other cars and trucks to come in (which i was in the way of I guess?). He could have had those later customers wait, especially because then this caused a big line to form before me to get my actual unit. By this time I did not have enough time to move my stuff into too small of a unit. I requested more time because of the mixups, I work at night and cannot wake up early to deal with this but now am forced to go and finish this process at 8am so I can get the truck back in time. This was not given to me. Ther process for a single person to move into the unit was terrible. I had to hold onto big items on a dolly that kept jiggling on the rough pavement right before the door and throwing off my stuff, while I had to swipe to get in the door every time, and struggle to hold the door open to get things In and then worry the door was open too long for the temp control and kept seeing the $150 fine warning. Added to this, there is not a smooth transition for the Dolly's to cross the threshold which makes it even harder for me to get things in. The door that swings open forces you right into the big dots on the floor where the cart goes, but this is in the way and makes getting the cart in even MORE difficult. When dropping off vehicle, I got no confirmation that the process was done and ensue proper payment. Just told to drop off keys and leave. I asked to speak with a manager to mention all of this,, as this form suggests speaking to management to fix issues or concerns, but the associate told me it will take time to find him and I am done waiting for Uhaul Staff to take up more of my time when I should be sleeping. This could all have been done yesterday had uhaul Staff not created such a mess and delay for me. I will never use UHaul again after this experience yesterday and today.

After having to push my moving date back a day to work with the storage unit hours, upon arrival the door was jammed and we were not able to get in. It took about 30 minutes to find a solution and we moved to a unit in a different building. Richard was wonderful and did everything he could, its just really unfortunate that it happened and on a day that was 110 and after feeling inconvenienced already. After a long day I asked to drop the Uhual truck off at the Tigard location, rather than the Beaverton location, and they were very accommodating. I really appreciate their flexibility.

Stuff was rattling right off the cart. There also a large dip right at the front door that you have to shove or pull hard to get over. Again more stuff falling off the cart. Also its a pain in the But trying to hold the doors open going in and out. The first month free was the reason I chose this uhaul storage facility and I would still do it again despite the incoviences.

When I mentioned one of the break-ins to the woman working behind the desk, she was extremely rude and didn’t pass on my break-in to a manager so I had to go back in person. I lost some items very dear to me and the manager suggested that maybe someone I knew might have broken into the unit. Outrageous. I can’t image a worse experience with a storage unit company.

At approx 4:20 I went to ask if there was about her unit we could rent at which point I was informed that we would not have access after 5pm. At that point so much of our stuff had been unloaded because we thought we had access until 10pm that we could not have put stuff back in the truck any faster if we had wanted to. The staff was extremely rude. When I commented that the website said access hours were until 10pm staff simply said we don’t make the website. We became locked in, no staff even came to see if were were still down there, we had no way of getting out we had finished literally throwing stuff in our truck at 5:06pm. I would never recommend this store to anyone. The customer service was atrocious.

Mr. Hall arranged to substitute a 7' x 23' unit, which ended up working out fine. Mr. Hall did an excellent job in this part of the transaction. Other staff members were very courteous and helpful.

I ended moving these items that were left in my storage unit by myself, items such as a washer/dryer and Huge wall hanging pictures. I have emphysema causing me to stop several times cause I was having a hard time breathing. By the time I was done securing my belongings in the Uhaul truck it was after hours and I could not get out of the gate. I called the 800 number for Uhaul and got the answering service apparently, they got ahold of the general manager. The general manager told the answering service to tell me he's not going to open the gate and if I called the police to get out I would get it for trespassing. I informed uhaul's answering service that I have emphysema and I don't have an extra inhaler with me and could she try to get ahold of someone to let me. She eventually was able to get ahold of someone who providered her with a gate cade to get out. I would never recommend this business to anyone, not even my worst enemy! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST STORAGE FACILITY!

Moving is already stressful enough and the Tigard uhual location made things much worse.this is what happened: -when given a log in for the gate and a storage locker, it was put under the name “craigger hall” and not my name, I had to get this all fixed which took an extra hour. -the original locker I was given was broken. The door was sagging and the lock wouldn’t align with the holes, so you couldn’t close the door. So I had to completely move out from 307 to 309, which took another extra hour. -when I called to make a hitch appointment I was scheduled for the upcoming Monday. I called that morning to confirm my noon appointment and they said it didn’t exist, so they rescheduled. When I called the day before they still didn’t have it on the calendar, when I looked at my reservation it was for Little Rock, AR, not Tigard Oregon, had to reschedule a 3rd time and this took more time. I asked 3 times that they make sure my storage locker rental would terminate on the 23rd, each time they said no problem, then I get an email 8 days after the 23rd saying to remember to pay for my locker rent on the 8th, meaning it never got canceled. The tigers staff seemed annoyed rather than apologetic. I completely understand why the Tigard location has 2.3 stars on google and assume that rating will continue to plummet. All and all, you guys made life more stressful, your equipment was dirty and broken, and your staff is unhelpful and poorly trained. I will go out of my way to make sure no one ever uses your location.

It's so cold in the unit and inside the building I have to wear my winter coat. They supposed heating units are so covered by mold And dirt ,I am not sure when the last time they changed the filters. Filthy and not sanitary.
