The truck has some needs for the next user to have a better rental with it. The starter is going the solenoid doesn’t engage every time you try to start the van. The shifter handle is floppy and almost falling off when you’re trying to shift. The interior was muddy, somewhat dirty and then the inside of the storage area had stuff spilled all over it and it was dirty before pick up, but didn’t make a big deal about it. Otherwise, good rental as always.

Matyas GThe trailer that we rented had multiple chunks of mud inside, and overall was VERY dirty. We will have to clean our cases when they get back to the shop, costing us tons of money in labour. This should NOT have happened. When we brought it back, it was pointed out to the crew, and summarily dismissed. Wasn't impressed. I will be more diligent in checking before we take another unit again.

BRIAN JYou advertise $19.99 for a van but then charge for 150 kms even though we didn't use 150kms?!? So a $19.99 tlvan costs us $137!!!?? Brutal.

BRETT BShut the place down….Absolutely horrible experience for the second time at that location First time staff was completely incompetent and we had due cancel our pickup cause the staff gave us the incorrect information and said that our Audi q7 wasn’t suitable for a 5x8 trailer cause us hundreds of $ for storage Second time they gave us a trailer that had bent wheels and a broken hub barring that put our safety at risk and we had to stop for hours waiting for roadside who came but didn’t have the hardware needed so we had to wait again for him to come back The comment of the roadside mechanic who BTW was wonderful was that we were lucky we didn’t get in an accident due to the severity damage hub Absolutely the worst location and worst service ever received from U-Haul or any other rental company….

Darren BThe trailer I ordered was not there, the customer service guy was not helpful, didn’t really care Could barely speak English, I had to travel an hour to pick up a trailer only to be told I couldn’t drop off at another location, I went to a third dealer for a one way trailer to be told it was now $90 , I ended up paying $60, I want a full refund This was disgraceful, you messaged me to say ready for pick up, when the trailer wasn’t even there , this location was better

Anastasia CRented a trailer and it was covered in mud, oil grease mix on the deck surface and there was still debris from the previous renter (a single sock, Xmas tags, candy cane). Fortunately I was only hauling wood products so I looked beyond the condition.

Jeffrey BIt would be nice to have 24 hr parking so they don't need to take a cab there and back. Also the Tow/Haul setting should not be on by default as it doesn't work well in a majority of cases, the transmission would rev up much too high before shifting on the highway because of it. Other than that I'm very pleased with the service.
Luke SI booked this location after talking with U-Haul Rep. I was driving across the mountains in winter wanted a truck in good condition “they have lots of trucks, you can go check the truck out before you rent”. Showed up early, employees late for work and not open on time. There was only one truck available, it had two massive windshield cracks across my line of sight and when the rain hit the wipers were not up to the job. I had booked ahead for 24 blankets and a furniture dolly as we had appliances to move out of a basement. There was no dolly available, and only 6 blankets. When I asked why, the employee shrugged and said “it’s the end of the month, happens all the time”. I had the employee call other locations to find a dolly, there was no way I could manage an upright freezer etc without it. He did call some other locations, but made it clear this was an inconvenience for him. There were no Dollie’s to be found in all U-Haul locations in Calgary. I managed to snag 6 extra blankets from someone returning a truck but still not as many as I needed. I had to arrange with a local mover to provide two extra people to get manage the appliances out of the basement. Sorry U-Haul you have not lived up to my expectations. How does a national company not have a serviceable truck and the pre-booked equipment in a major city?

Kahled DStaff have always been friendly but I’m now very hesitant to go with a third party moving company from usual. Movers came over 3 hours late, we had to do 75% of the physical work which wasn’t planned, and still had to pay them full amount. Crazy

Shanon SThe car dolly I rented was dirty. The lights and license plate, were not cleaned off. The straps were frayed on the ends. Which made it hard to insert into the slot of the ratchet. And the ratchets were all rusty. Making them hard to unroll and loosen the straps. Better care and maintenance needs to be taken. To ensure these mechanisms can be used easily without hassle. And if a car dolly or trailer comes back dirty. Then they should be washed by the customer. Or taken into your washbay and washed. If you expect your moving trucks, to come back clean, on the inside and out. Then your car dollies and trailers should be cleaned as well !
Willem VContract 28163371 I am extremely unhappy with this rental experience. The website is confusing, saying the prices quoted are in USD, which is incorrect. It asks to estimate mileage and since the vehicle is in miles, this makes sense, but states the charge is $1 per mile - which isn't what I was charged. Instead it's $1.09 per km, which doesn't match exactly the ambiguous $1 per mile. Also, the contract indicated that the tank was full so bring it back full. I drove 30 miles and had to put it 15 liters to fill the tank. Clearly, the tank was nowhere near full, but something close to the 'Full' line which in fact isn't the full indication - the needle is well past the full marker. I don't know what the mileage is on these trucks so don't know how much you should refund me for the extra gas I put into the tank. The fellow that checked the vehicle in and with whom I had some discussions said that I was to return the vehicle with fuel back at the level it left at. This type of rental vehicle business practice is abhorrent. There is no way to judge how much fuel is needed to replace what was used. The vehicle should be FULL when it leaves the lot and that's how it is brought back to avoid charges. Clearly that is not what your operation does. Using the U-Haul app was painful as well. I gave up trying to use it and went inside to the counter. It couldn't find my location.
George ZFast and easy pick up and return. And learned some history about U-Haul that I didn't know. It's great to hear that even a lot guy has knowledge of the founder and the company as a whole. I was impressed.
SOS FWhen I first did the reservation online, I requested 10 moving blankets and an appliance dolly with the truck. I never got those. When I went to pick up the truck I had many problems with the app not working. After almost 2 hours, I managed to get the truck. It only had 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. The engine light was on, the truck ran very poorly and had extreme vibrations between 40 and 65 km/hr. It was not a good experience at all.

Lukasz TWhen selling insurance it would be nice to have the option to purchase insurance just for the days you use the equipment. I rented a car dolley to tow behind my truck. It was a 4 day rental and I was charged $10 a day. I only used the dolly for one day so expected when I returned the dolly I would get a refind for days unused. This was not the case as I was explained insurance is a flat rate. I should have only asked for insurance for one day. Be aware if you can only buy insurance for days you know you need so you are not paying insurance for 3 days after youve returned your rental witj no recourse.
