I called late in the week before Sept long weekend so I expected to possibly have a problem getting whst I needed. I went online, found a phone number and called to book. I needed a one wsy truck from Edmonton to Calgary. We were told the best you could do was have a truck ready early Sunday morning in Blackfalds. We were desperate so said we would take it. The next morning a man called my cell phone to make sure everything was ok. My daughter talked to him and things were finalized. Later thst afternoon a woman called me to finalize everything, but changes had to be made. There would not be a truck in Blackfalds and the closest they could get would be Torrington. In the end there was a truck in Calgary. So, we could pick up the truck in Calgary, drive it to Edmonton and they would give me 350 free kms and I would pay for the rest. When I dropped the truck off they tried to charge me for all the kms as they could not find anything about the 350 kms. Then they got that straightened out. After reading the website and talking to the people on the phone, I understood the rental was for 48 hours. I picked the truck up on Saturday evening and was told it was rented out on Monday at noon so it had to be back before that, and then they charged me for an extra day. I was not happy at all with the whole experience. I have used U Haul before but I don't know if I will again.



Find more friendly staff! make it clear that the rental is 12h NOT 24h like your told on the phone!

The truck was clean, but it took a long time to be helped and once I had my reservation paperwork, no one was there to get my truck until I went back in from the snow to ask the workers to call for help outside. Make sure that the wipers, headlights, and tires are safe to use for a cross continent journey.

The only problem with this location is they need a wider access driveway. When cars park where there is no parking it makes it very difficult to pull a moving truck into the parking lot.

I was ticked by your company at the black foot uhaul location through the city of Calgary when I used your service the GM of the location told me the ticket would stand and that I could fuck off when I called to complain I will never again use your company for anything and will be slandering your companys reputation by telling the story of the time I rented with uhaul..... Did the express check in and then had to do it all over again in the store. Should get your systems integrated so express really does save time, because right now it doesn't.

We picked this location because we had a very nice experience dropping off a 15' truck in a previous move. The gentlemen who helped us to book the 15' truck (this time) was helpful and friendly. He also said that upon completion of signing of the contract is when the time starts/ends regarding the pick-up and drop off time. On the other end the young woman who dealt with us during the pick-up was friendly, but not very helpful. As we were waiting in line to pick up our truck she had a disgruntled customer on the phone who had a complaint about late fee charge and she was telling him that she cannot do anything about it as she was looking at the contract he agreed to. Yet once we brought up our concern about the time difference in the available pick-up/drop off time and we clearly stated that none of the Nanaimo locations open at 7 am she proceeded to put all the responsibility on us regarding the drop off location and stated that we can drop off the truck later, but should not hold her to her word - not very confidence inspiring - I am not the one with the U-Haul system at my finger tips, she is. All of this could have been avoided if these options were available online for the customer to set up, as I could have done a better job setting it up myself. Lastly, the man handing off the truck did not do a walk-around until my wife prompted him to do so, as there were damaged spots on the truck, which needed to be marked. We also had to ask him to show us the inside of the cargo box, which he couldn't initially do as it was frozen shut and he had to bring a hammer to dislodge the frozen door.

Improve return process. Did the quick return at 4:15 on Monday yet received a call wondering why the van was parked on the lot without any key Tuesday afternoon! Was sorted out at the expected price but concerns me if something had happened to the van overnight ( like gas being siphoned( would I have been responsible?

System was down. We waited 1.5 hours to get the truck. On top of that they did not have the furniture dolly I had ordered and did not offer an alternative. Unacceptable !
