While the process at Blackfoot was easy and quick I have to note that I ended up at Blackfoot because of your Barlow location and Head office's ineptitude. I arrived at Barlow and called the customer service line because my reservation was upgraded from a 10' to 17' truck. I tried to pick it up early which they told me I could not do. What they did not tell me was that I had been upgraded, so it sounded like they totally screwed up my reservation and told me to come back later. In other words a total lack of proper communication meant I had wasted an hour and a half of my time. When I called your hotline to try to see what had happened I was transferred eventually to the rudest "customer service" representative I have ever had the displeasure of talking to. I unfortunately did not get her name because I think you need to re-train her. She told me that my reservation had actually been upgraded because you did not have a 10' truck available, so that was good to know. She then told me that a) I could only have the truck from 6:30pm until 8:00am. Which is the strangest time frame I've ever heard to try to move an entire apartment. She also told me that b) I could not drive this truck to Lethbridge and back because it was only a local truck and all of the one way trucks had already been reserved. I tried to tell her that the truck would be returned to the same location I picked it up from but she told me that didn't matter and I couldn't leave the city with it. When I said that that sounds like garbage and that your website doesn't mention any of those regulations she told me that it was entirely my fault for reserving it too late and told me too bad, you did this. My suggestion would be for her to try to work with a customer to find an amicable solution in the future, as it is not "my fault" that all of your trucks had been reserved. Furthermore, she cancelled my reservation, without me asking her too as I tried to find all of Uhaul's communications to me to ascertain if we had missed any of the above stipulations. When I called your hotline again I talked to Alexis, who I think deserves a promotion because she dealt with an irate customer professionally and amicably. She was able to uncancel my reservation but unfortunately that truck had already been rebooked so I had the pleasure of moving an entire apartment using a van. In short: your representative destroyed any credibility that I thought your company had. While Alexis did an exemplary job fixing the situation I would be hesitant to recommend that anyone I know use Uhaul for any service in the future.

I was royally shafted by UDon'tHaul. I booked a 9' van a week in advance (confirmation email received) and when I arrived they said "no, it's not available but here's 50 bucks". I don't care about the 50 bucks, it cost me that much just to book my move-in elevator which I couldn't use because I had no way of transporting my stuff. Now I'm scrambling to find an alternative method to vacate my apartment which is proving extremely difficult because everything's booked at the end of the month. The girl who appeared to be in charge just looked at me like "yeah, but what are you going to do bro? You're an unhappy customer, I don't care - we have others". No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I called to book a 15' truck for 12 hours which went through no problems. About 4 hours later the lady called me back and said I could get a 10' truck for 6 hours. I asked what happened to our first booking and she said we didn't have one. I ended up booking a 17' truck for what I specifically said would have to for the whole day. As she called me while I was working I didn't check my confirmation until later and to my dismay the times we had agreed on were changed and the rental was only for 4 hours. Who can move a house in 4 hours? I asked the girl at the desk about getting it for longer and she said that's what happens when you change your booking. I was not impressed as I didn't change my booking. She ended up giving us a few more hours but it was not enough and now we will need to rent another truck. I will not be using uhaul again and will certainly not give it a favourable review when people ask me about it. Its a shame as it would have worked perfectly if the original booking was honoured, or maybe even if an explanation was offered.

The staff was very helpful. We had an issue with the light wiring own our truck that we were using to pull the trailer. The haul staff were very helpful in assisting us in repairing our wiring. Due to the staffs assistance we were able to use the car dolly trailer and complete our move that night.

I picked up a trailer at 11:30. returned it at 9:15pm on tge same day. I got a invoice next day morning with return time7:07am and been charged for two days. so funny.

You could provide us with the rental equipment when we requested which was Sunday Morning instead of leaving us to pick it up on Sunday at 4. This was very inconvenient to get people to help us and we had told the agent that we wished to leave Calgary that day. Instead we packed until 5 am Monday morning. We were also told that we could leave our vehicle on the tow trailer at the U Haul location until we were ready to go, This was not then allowed when my husband went to get the truck so we had to leave trailer in our apt complex lot. As we were trying to pack my husbands bike was stolen from the back of the vehicle. They left a bunch of packing blankets, which we did not request, that we then had to pack in around our things. Took up at least a medium box space. I feel we should have gotten a discount for bringing vehicle back 3 full days early given the amount of time we booked in advance.

I found that other drivers seemed to have a hard time seeing when I had my signal lights on. Perhaps they are not bright enough? The truck speedometer was only in miles so I had no idea how many kilometers I was driving at any point in time. The dolly in the back was an optional feature we did not need or use, we found it to be in the way and an unnecessary obstacle when loading the truck. If we needed a dolly we would have ordered one. If we rent a truck it would be nice if we could use the entire truck instead of tripping over a dolly in the way.

I just wanted to commend the counter clerk. Our reserved vehicle had not yet been returned by the previous renters and she quickly arranged for another vehicle so that we didn't have to stand around and wait for the assigned vehicle. She was very pleasant and helpful.
