STEVEN PUnfortunately the car trailer I rented was too small to carry my Silverado 1500. So I am disappointed the computer allowed me to rent the trailer??? I did not receive a refund from dealership so I am a little upset about this situation. I was not able to tow my truck to shop for repairs. The trailer was about 4 inches to short to haul my truck.

STEVEN VWell first of all, I needed a pickup truck on a Wednesday at noon. This wasn’t a planned need so I didn’t have a reservation but I needed to pickup a used refrigerator nearby quickly. I was informed that I wasn’t able to rent the one pickup you had available for the 24 hours I normally do because there was already reservation on it for first thing Thursday morning. I said fine although I think I shouldnt have had to pay a full 19.99 rental fee as I literally only had the truck 6 hours! Also I went 10 miles total in this truck so how was my total $76!!!!????? That’s crazy!

Reservation was for 24 hrs however, loading was cancelled and brought back trailer an hr later. They took off trailer and said the would enter in computer in a bit and for us to leave. Not a thank you or nothing. Will go elsewhere next time. Customer Service was poor, never told us about anything on rental or even after. He looked real tired like he’d been up all night and had a hangover. Very uncomfortable to be around.
JACOB BEverything was great other than the ridiculous price for use of a trailer for 2 days. 1000 bucks for a 2 day rental of a trailer i could buy new for 4500. Hardly makes any sense at all.

KRISTIAN MMore than enough furniture pads. Mineral King U-Hual failed to follow my instructions on the 4th ubox. They were suppose to ship it to Maryland as soon as they picked it up. But held it at Mineral King. Had difficulty finding the ubox from MD until I mentioned to your agent, could it still be in Mineral King? He checked and that is where they were holding it not knowing what to do with it until I called them and instructed them to ship it to MD. It was a problem because that ubox had my clothes in it. But it finally all worked out, so all is well.

Love the size and affordability of the truck. not so much the amount of fuel it consumes. Great semi rural location with a huge corner lot. The owners of the property do not care about their customers- they only care about getting rich off the shortage of storage units in Visalia. During our eviction, the assistant manager was condescending but the manager was decent.

As a first time user for U-HAUL I didn’t not know basic information even after trying to do my own research before calling. When I would call to ask for information at the location I used no one would answer and I would get sent to the central office and they usually weren’t able to answer my questions. On top of that every time I asked a question in person I was constantly met with attitude and rude remarks for simply asking for help. I would not use U-Haul again not recommend it to anyone. Get better customer service.

JESSICA C | Overall ExperienceI’m in unit 1000 my name is Joab Johnson I’ve had a unit there for quite some time I’ve been sick with the congestive heart failure I’ve been in and out of the hospital a lot and I’ve let the staff know I’ve let management know I’ve called several times to the people that you call that answer the phones for you and let them know that I United can’t get down there on time sometimes and then and I don’t wanna lose a little bit of stuff I have I’ve lost everything after I’ve got congestive heart failure I couldn’t work anymore and just put on permanent disability and so my bills have been kind of hectic and I knew I lost it a lot but I kept a little storage The manager just would not work with me on my late fees and everything and I pretty much had to just throw a bunch of stuff away is it anyway I just don’t think that I was treated properly by eight and you know what you guys do not answer the phones when I’d be in the hospital beds in there and I called and called and called to tell you I couldn’t get down there to pay it on time and then you guys wouldn’t answer and then you just charge me $50 every time out of line And management management was aware of my medical condition and that I was always there to pay my storage it was just late here and there because of my hospital stays and I don’t think it’s fair that I can charge so much for such a little space

However, the weekend crew can leave you a lil wanting. It’s busy and the heat was insane today so I’m going to blame it on the heat! I do have one suggestion and that is to send someone to remove the admin lock from the units that get caught up the actual day they have gotten caught up. I think that would be wonderful and I I know I would support you in this lol. Overall the experience was top shelf with a special shout-out for the Manager, Duncan and the associate who runs and tends to the pool)

There needs to be better communication when setting up this location for storage needs, this was not an easy move with a regular door and second level with no elevator no dollys for appliances or easy way to move large items into storage.

Sarah A | Overall ExperienceThe number one reason I had a positive experience at U-Haul in Visalia is because of the people involved. I never thought it would matter who’s working at the U-Haul, but it mattered at the Visalia location. The folks there were patient, kind, respectful, and went above and beyond to support the customer (like Chris). Their tool shop was open and they were quick to fix an issue with my trailer rental and get me on the road, all the way up to closing time. The facilities were always immaculate, nearly hospital clean. The bathrooms were clean and operational. The equipment, like carts, ready and available.

ONLY thing i wish was different was the small flight of stairs I have to go up to get to my unit, but that I can get over. Nice staff, super clean place! Definitely happy I chose to go with this storage facility & would def recommend!!

The reasons I would not recommend this facility are: 1) poor staffing relative to the volume that this location experiences. This site has been like this for years. You make money by providing substandard service because you can. 2) flooded storage area, then difficulty reaching staff to find out what happened because.....#1. 3) I suggest someone do a walk-through at night to ensure that vehicles on remote pickup are accessible and that late night dropoff spots are clearly marked. 4) When there's a problem and the manager is unreachable that speaks volumes about what is important and it's not the customer. No dedicated troubleshooter on call after hours? Check. My new storage is with an independent chain, and people could not be nicer. I really like dealing with real people and not people reciting corporate scripts. They called to follow up with me on moving day and made themselves available after scheduled office hours when they knew we were running late. WOW!! This uhaul is somewhat saved by the people here who manage to care despite the hurdles to doing so. I deeply respect those doing a good job under these circumstances. You are front line workers. I'm sorry you have to deal with what you deal with Better staffing will alleviate the negative google reviews because people who aren't so stressed can do a better job. Customers who can anticipate better service don't come in primed to make sure everyone around them has a bad day. Thanks anyway, my experience wasn't all bad At least people like Chris are there and willing to troubleshoot, so thanks again.

He goes out of his way to guide and take care of your needs. With our few hundred mile move, truck and tow dolly drop off. Also making our reserved storage space possible after some hiccups in the UHAUL system. He really makes me want to recommend and take care of all our storage and UHAUL type of needs to no other place than this location. Great work Duncan

We drove all the way out to Visalia and were told our reservation did not appear in their system, even though I had the Reservation Number and provided it. The only unit they had available was much smaller than the one we had originally reserved and all of our belongings did not fit.

Extremely frustrating! Office managers being placed in no win positions by upper management, resulted in lost time, extra effort by the customer. Rental vehicle was filthy and tech on the truck did not work. Very disappointed with Uhaul, after several rentals and storage ventures, this by far was the worst! I will seriously consider my options the next time and I am urging my friends on social media to do the same.
