Nothing. It was an easy process to rent and return
ANTHONY CI called the national number to ask if I could leave truck on premises the night before it was due. They told me it should be okay but to check with actual location. I was not able to get through to anyone at location the whole weekend. I finally drove over the day before truck was due to see if I could leave it there that night. The workers at desk said "no" twice with no explanation. I had to wait til next morning to return truck.
JOHN MThe first truck I was provided a key for had a dead battery and wouldn't start. In addition, the previous renter (?) left the window rolled down—it was a rainy day—and the front seat was soaked. I was given a new rental, but the service rep working barely spoke to me -- answered in grunts and nods. I don't expect anyone to be overly enthusiastic, but at least speak to me in sentences... Not the best experience.
Paulina SThe vehicle was new, only 1000 miles, clean, and the people at the office were great and very friendly. This rent was an easy ride. I have other issues with my booking to install the hitch, but this is not with the Brighton office; instead, with the U-HAUL reservation system. But I will leave that to my other review for a second reservation I had that same day.

Israel CThey could have been more efficient handling to the customer. They didn't really have experience with the auto transporter and we had to figure things out together. But the equipment was in fine shape and worked well.
kirby zBlankets haphazardly thrown into the back of the van that I didn’t order. They filled up all of the customer parking with their own vans so we had to park two streets away. We got our van 1/2 hour late because no one would help us. When someone finally did “help” us, they pointed to the back lot and said that our van would be back there somewhere and that he would get the keys. He left us to wander around the back, trying to find the correct van and when we gave up and tried to find someone else to help us, he was standing at the front with the keys. He made no effort to find us and made fun of us saying we “walked right past” the correct van because it was in the front parking lot. Of course, we didn’t look in the front parking lot because he told us it was in the back. Staff was overall unhelpful and our experience here was incredibly inconvenient. I’d recommend going to another uHaul location.

PHILLIP HI've had trouble with this location in the past but this time they really came through! They were on top of it, which is impressive considering the moving season in Brighton and Allston around end of August. I got a newer truck which was still in great condition and everyone was kind and helpful.
JOSEPHINA PIt would help if it was clear that the key only needed to be left in the vehicle. I went inside the building believing I had to hand over the key. Traffic CSR was VERY helpful in coordinating the change of the drop off location to a closer facility than what had originally been assigned. Thanks so much for that!

Todd KOn site staff kids were great, it’s not their fault UHAUL upcharged me $200 extra dollars. My estimated price was $210 for pickup at my desired location. They ended up changing my location and gave me a $400 price at the register
Erik PDrop off was complicated - didn’t process my return on time so we were charged extra money.
COREY POverall good experience, truck had a fair bit of dirt/sand in the footwells but didn't interfere with the actual move and driving.
SEUNG-HWAN KThere were a lot of customers in line when I arrived. It took over a half hour to get the truck. With that many people renting that day more people should have been put on staff to book the trucks.
PAUL MThey could use some additional help, especially when it's late August in Boston when everyone is moving. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get to the counter.
DOUGLAS CThey blocked my personal vehicle in after I returned and nobody is here (I’ve been here for over an hour now)….and yes, I was told to park in this parking spot by the same guy who gave me the keys to the rental. Horrible. Never again using U-Haul. Also, I had to wait 20 minutes for someone from support to answer and they hung up after saying they weren’t able to get a hold of the general manager of the Brighton Massachusetts location where this horrible service occurred. They said they did not know what to do and basically told me to figure it out (The helpline, not the manager as he’s probably asleep right now while I’m stuck here an hour from home). Oh, and the guy working here that gave me the keys said don’t leave it over night…what am I supposed to do if I can’t get out as I’m blocked in by all of these U-Haul trucks. If my car is gone in the morning you will be sued. :) have a nice night

EMILY PThis location doesn’t have parking for customers to leave their vehicle while they are using Uhaul’s trucks. Luckily I found street parking a few blocks away. When I arrived at this location there was a wall of returned trucks blocking in that morning’s customers so we couldn’t leave with the trucks we’d rented with the mobile app. An employee had to come in early to assist. When I returned the vehicle the Uhaul app dropped out at several points during the return process.
Christian SI think the policy for gas can be more clear. I filled the car up beyond what was needed.

PEDRO Vmy booked van was relocated to Woburn from Brighton WITHOUT notification. The boys at the shop handled it well and I got lucky a job finished early. But I will not be recommendin U-Haul to others.
HAIYUAN STo improve: let Jeff and the other guys run the show! Jeff and his colleague where real good guys, very talkative and genuinely seemed to like their job and like the customers who were nearby when I was getting served. Jeff in particular, only because I dealt with him more, was very engaging and a real "people person". I don't recall the name of the young man who also helped. My apology! Great guys in one of the busiest U-Haul locations dealing with LITERALLY over 200,000+ students returning to the 44 colleges in and around Boston this weekend. WILLIAM MMy estimate was 68 online. At the pick up the new estimate was 85. The final charge was Ed102. We were charged for more miles than we drove. We have pictures of the odometer when we got in the truck and when we returned it.
DIANE FEmployees mumbled and failed to explain why rate charged was double what was indicated in the online reservation form.
MATTHEW BRented truck via the online system. It was incredibly easy & efficient. This saved us lots of time since there was a long line when we arrived to pickup our truck. I also needed to extend my contact by a phone days which I did I online without any issues.

DANIEL DThe truck broke and i had to wait for 3 hours at a random street for the roadside assistance person. I missed my window to move and not happy at all about the experience. Will not be using any services again.
SHIVAM GThe truck was dirty and had a bad order to it. I advised the sales associate about it as well as took pictures of it. All they said was use the windshield wiper blades to clean it. But that did not work, they were stuck to the window.

PRASANNA KHorrible layout, parking is blocked by trucks. Changed my truck at the last minute based on “inventory”, ordered a 10’ and they gave me a 20’. Don’t let me book a truck if it isn’t going to be available. Also, don’t let me book a one-way trip when the destination Uhaul might not have space for the truck.
NIKOLAI OLong line but the desk associate moved everyone through quickly. She was courteous and professional. Not her fault, but management should’ve had 2 people at the desk in the morning. That’s when most pickups occur.
Steven SThere needs to be a more streamlined process for assigning equipment. The lady inside the store assigned a trailer that was buried behind several others. I was told they are assigned randomly and they do not know where they are outside. They gave me a different one and never changed it in the computer, causing issues with my return to a different location.
AIMEE SQuick and easy drop off into my U-Box! Staff was nice and fairly helpful. If everything gets shipped correctly then it would be an amazing overall experience.

JOSEPH MI do not recommend anything about U-Haul. The car was poorly maintained and dirty. The process accepts my driver's license from an international country but when I go to pick up the truck I cannot pick it up because I don't have U.S. ID. At no point is that requirement said in the process of applying for the truck. Another customer who also had his time slot set for before the store opens couldn't get his truck because his truck was stuck behind all of the others parked in the way. The experience made a day that is already stressful, as any moving day is, into a nightmare.

ABUBAKAR MMy truck wasn’t set up for mobile pickup and I was not made aware until that day, meaning I got there and had to wait for 1 hour prior to the location opening. There were two other parties that also had the same issue - indicating it is a location problem most likely. The staff was helpful but they did not operate with any sense of urgency and I ended up being late to where I need to be, which cost me money. The truck itself was also pretty dirty inside and I got it with only 1/4 of gas which meant I had to stop very soon in my trip after all of the difficulty. They also didn’t have a dolly which is pretty standard for moving needs. Generally do not recommend this location at all.
MICHELLE TAwful customer service, had to wait over a hour for a cargo van that was rented ahead of time and all information filled out on the app. We were given a cargo van with a broken door. Seemed like staff knew about it, offered no discount.
Emma PVehicle was fine, but the staff were incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful. Had so much trouble trying to check in, and they were more irritated that they needed to help rather than providing useful instructions on what we have to do on our end. Then, asked for a bill breakdown as it was higher than what was expected, and was met with defensiveness instead of a helpful breakdown to justify costs. Had to call customer service and spoke with Braiden, who was wonderful, sweet, kind, and helpful. Terrible location, but he showed that it was just that store, not UHaul as a company.
ALEJANDRO MThe worst truck I've driven.. The rear view mirrors on the passenger side broken and automatically turns mid trip and adjustment is manual. When I first picked up the truck, the fuel cap was missing and had to drive back to get it fixed. He just removed the cap from another truck and fixed it to mine.. It was a joke. Definitely not worth so much money. Never had such an experience with UHaul
SKANDA KThe truck break was very low, clearly dangerous to operate.. the Truck over all was in very bad shape… It is the third time I rent U-Haul , this time my rate would be below 0.
ELIANA LI originally booked a different location, but was contacted by uhaul on7/23 and was told that location wouldn’t be an option and it would be this location instead which was totally fine. The morning of my reservation, I called customer service twice, once to tell them I’d be late due to someone being parked in my reserved space for the truck, and the second to ensure an authorized driver on my account could pick up the uhaul. Both representatives made notes in my account and told me that would all be fine. When my dad went to pick up the truck, this location has no record of the reservation whatsoever. Luckily there was a single truck left, but this left me with very little faith in uhaul and I’m not sure I’d like to use uhaul for my next move in a month anymore. I simply don’t understand how my reservation couldn’t be accessed when I had multiple emails and the app confirming otherwise, as well as two uhaul representatives confirming everything on the phone that day. No offers from uhaul to lower the price for the poor customer service experience, which would have gone a long way with me. I’d hope that this survey would change that, but I don’t even know if this survey will be read. Overall disappointed and probably going to explore other options in the future.

BRIAN GThe two employees that helped me were great. However, I had a scheduled pick up time of 7AM and arrived at about 7:10. Two employees arrived at approximately 7:15AM but did not have keys to the building so they could not open the store until a third employee, who had keys to the building, arrived at about 7:45AM. This was a little bit frustrating as I waited outside the store for 30 minutes which pushed back when I could start moving- which is obviously an all-day process.
Devin NThe two young people at customer service were very helpful and we really appreciated it. This was a last-minute move, so we really needed a smooth check in and and return, which we got.
EBED PDidn’t ask for or reserve moving blankets since only used for towing. Nothing on rental agreement mentions moving pads, but I got charged $120 after dropping off for “missing equipment”, and can only get a refund from manager who is conveniently not there today. Sounds scammy to me, and I will never use this location again, nor recommend to anyone.
THOMAS CNo the person who checked in the trailer didn’t know where to put it and had never done it before I did everything by myself. Manager wasn’t on site to do a return of retail products so I was told they couldn’t help me.
