The truck we had seemed very old and the whole front end shook tremendously whenever the speed reached 45 mph or so. Also, while I did not have to change the oil in our truck, the policy indicated inside the vehicle (that a customer would have to get the oil changed themselves and be reimbursed) is bad service. The oil should be maintained by the company and checked before each rental.

The truck had a broken mirror that would move around when I drove it. The person who handed the truck knew about it and after pointing it out did not offer another truck. I hope another person will not get into an accident. Also the mileage charge over 50 miles was confusing and not well explained.

At this location, I was charged $4 for a gallon of gas for driving 6 miles. I was also charged a $10 fee because this store is located in Boston. Within the same week, I rented a truck at the U-Haul location in Brookline which is located 3 miles away. I was NOT charged $4 for a gallon of gas for driving 7 miles. I was also NOT charged a $10 fee because the store is not located in Boston. Brighton cost = $53.84. Brookline cost = $39.51. Draw your own conclusion.

This is one of the worst customer service situations that I have ever experienced. This does not reflect the location I picked it up from, but setting up my haul reservation was terrible. I booked my reservation over a month in advance. I called twice to make sure that everything was set. A day before I was supposed to pick up my vehicle I received a call saying that my truck was in a different state and would not be available. I asked If I could reserve another truck and the person said that nothing was available and provided no solution whatsoever. I called back later that morning and talked to another person, who seemed more helpful and set me up with a van in the area with an evening pickup the following day. The next morning I received a call from a uhaul location that I had never heard of asking me why I wasn't there to pick up my reservation, I had never set up a morning reservation, or a reservation in this area. Once again my reservation was incorrect, despite receiving confirmation texts and email. I called uhaul again, I was told that the reservation that had been set up for me the day before wouldn't work because it wasn't even an active uhaul location! For the third time someone set me up with another reservation for that evening. Once I arrived at the uhaul location that evening there was a van, but the drop off time was incorrect and I was charged for an additional $65 rental fee that I was never told existed. Ultimately I did have the van...which was good, but almost everything that could go wrong did. I don't even know how that many mistakes can be made consecutively. It was a completely ridiculous, dysfunctional situation that was extremely difficult to deal with and could have been entirely avoided entirely.

Experience 1 this weekend: Properly staffed for the Labor Day weekend Boston Sept 1 rush. Took the return of our big 26' truck with shocking efficiency considering the volume they were dealing with that day. Experience 2: Walked to in rent an in town van - very friendly staff - none of this "yes sir, no sir" style of customer service, just polite friendly people who actually talk to you like a human. Both rentals we got basically brand new equipment. Full marks Uhaul!

Advertise more closely the out-the-door pricing because $19.95 quickly grows to $55 when all of the fees and just ten miles are driven.

honor the reservation. And do not threaten customer. 3 overbooked customers for a single truck in a 7 hour period is Overkill. And store charged penalty for these 3 customers who are supposed to share the same truck in the 7 hour period. My reservation was express check-in, received written and verbal confirmation, also called again on aug 31, when uhaul rep said- you are all set. 2 verbal confirmation, and still $150 penalty. Will try U-SAVE next time. Or another store location.

I think it is extremely ridiculous that I received a truck that had a 1/4 tank of gas left in it, you should be ashamed of yourselves, that I have to pay a ridiculous amount to rent it then have to put more money into the truck, I would never recommend u guys to anyone I know, how do you look at yourselves oh yeah because you like taking other people's hard earned money

My experience with this location was terrible. I went to pick up my truck 2 minutes early as advised only to find that my truck was blocked in by 6 other trucks. I called the manager who picked up the phone and then hung up on me and then put his phone on silent I said continue to call you refuse to pick up the phone. I called customer service and the woman they're called the manager and he did not pick up her phone call as well. She then proceeded to call the assistant manager not pick up their phone either. I had to figure out how to get my truck out as my movers were now waiting on me at that point. It took me 15 minutes to squeeze my truck out of that spot after waiting 40 minutes at that location to try and get help that never came. I will never use this location again and I am opening the claim to be reimbursed for the time that my movers had to wait.
