Aaron DWhen i returned the equipment, the person i worked with was excellent in every way and extremely helpful. Also good on the front end. Unfortunately, my move took somewhat longer than anticipated so, in the middle, i got a call from someone who warned of “significant” but unspecified consequences as others were waiting on the equipment. As a result, i returned the truck the first time. When i got there, another very helpful person apologized and told me to keep the truck to complete my move. I did so and, as indicated, the check in person when i did return it when done was great. I was more than happy to pay for the extra time and they were very fair about the extra mileage how much extra it should be but it was a stressful day and was made more stressful by someone who robably thought he was following instructions.
MARK ZThis location was incredibly busy when we picked up the truck and there was only one person inside and one person outside. Numerous people were trying to return trucks and numerous people were trying to pick up a truck. We had reserved an appliance dolly, but they didn't have one available and we were charged a rate higher than the online reservation quote; they were "unable" to adjust the total cost ($100 more than we should have been charged), and told us that when we dropped the truck off (at a different location), someone at that location would be able to refund us for the overcharges. Why weren't they able to charge us the appropriate amount to begin with?
ROBERT WIt was fine. They could have had more workers. I'm mostly annoyed I had to drive to Coralville when I originally reserved a truck at a location an hour away.

JOHN CGiven this was probably the busiest weekend for them, I'm not sure. They handled the crowd well, were professional despite all the customer demands. Perhaps more staff on that weekend, though the staff working that day were working like a well oiled machine. It was a great experience.
KAAREN QConsider in future having larger trailers that have stands for the tongue. I rented a 6' x 12' double wheel trailer and had to unhook it to get two appliances in the back of my pickup. We almost were unable to get it hooked back up due to weight. I ended up having to use my pickup jack to raise the tongue so we could hook back up ... weeewwwhhh! Also I reserved an appliance dolley but when I picked up trailer they had no dollies. This required me renting on where I loaded up and I'll have to rent another to unload appliances at my destination. I understand it was a particular busy time with students moving back and all. All the Uhaul employees were great and very helpful (Gabriel and Jack I dealt with).
DOUGLAS G26 truck was not going above 40 mph

CLIFFORD CKayla was amazingly friendly and made this move possible..answered all my questions. My only concern was returning the truck there were so many returns and I felt a little uneasy leaving it where I did as it was very close to the street.maybe suggest other options if the lane is full.

HARLEY MThe UHaul staff were very helpful in decision making on what size and type of vehicle to use to move a very long, heavy church pew. The best part of the VERY efficient move was the moving labor help. Noah and Francis (father and son) made this short, but logistically challenging , move a pleasure. They worked together efficiently, took special care to ensure the safety of this very old church relic, ensured that it was properly located in its new home, and were cheerful and fun to work with. They used proper body mechanics, so I wasn't worried about their hurting themselves during the process of moving this very awkward piece of furniture. I'm glad I chose moving professionals and not personal, aged friends (with back problems) for this move.
FRANCIS BThe interior of the truck cab needed to be wiped down. The steering of the plate of the truck had play in it and did not and was not responsive. The truck was fine for moving things just across town, but would not have taken this truck on a cross country move. The mechanic needs to look at steering mechanism.

Roniesha ROverall, this works really slick with the app. We had a little trouble with location services. Seems like we had to be right by the key box for it to work, but parking is 30 feet away and the app doesn't work from there.

MARK FThis 26’ truck had an air leak in it breaking system. When the brakes were applied the RPMs would rev up making it additionally harder to apply the brakes, and lurching forward. This was discovered after we had already started our move from Iowa to Corpus Christi Texas! I have a feeling the choice was on purpose, trying to rid themselves of a mechanical problem! Not cool! Definitely didn’t drive like a van, as advertised!

NOAH K1. I reserved a dolly for rental and there wasn’t one available. Didn’t find out until I got there. Associate was flippant about it. During the transaction I noticed dollies for sale and inquired about them. He should have offered but didn’t. ALSO WHEN I APPROACHED THE DESK THE ASSOCIATE JUST LOOKED AT ME.NEVER SAID, “Hi may I help you.” I ended up having to stay that I have a reservation … 2. The ac and transmission on the truck both need maintenance and the truck’s engine light was on. AC goes off by itself. As you slow down the truck struggles the shift gears. 3. Driver’s door doesn’t close properly. Really needs to be slammed. 4. If I were renting that truck to go any further, I would have returned it and cancelled the reservation for fear of breaking down.

AIME KWhenever I have to move in Iowa City, this is the U Haul I use. The reservation was held and ready to go, and it took about 3 minutes from walking up to the counter to heading to my rental. Great guys, great location, clean and easy to access from I-80.
DAVID MWe had ordered a 15 foot truck in early June and did not get word that the truck pick up location was changed along with the time till the day before we needed it. And I had to call to find that information out. They had scheduled a 15 foot truck an hour to two hours away at a time that was later than our movers were arriving. It was completely ridiculous. We were forced to take a bigger truck that we are uncomfortable driving that we did not need. When we pulled into the lot, there were plenty of smaller vehicles. None they were willing to release which we believe is because they wanted to keep the trucks local. If U-Haul is promising, we'll get you to point a to point B then they need to honor their word and give us the truck that we reserved. I am sure way ahead of anyone else. Very disappointed and love some of our money back.
THOMAS KOverall uhaul needs to improve their system. It is ridiculous that you can make a “reservation” for a truck on a date when you obviously need it to move, only to be called and told that there isn’t a truck available for you 24 hours or less before you move. I have moved with uhaul twice and BOTH times I have been forced to call around and figure out how to get a new truck myself the morning I move because my “reservation” does not have a truck available. In no way is that a reservation. It’s a horribly frustrating customer experience and quite frankly a terrible business model which leaves your store employees forced to deal with frustrated customers from a terrible and honestly idiotically designed “reservation” system. After my two experiences with uhaul I can definitely say I will be avoiding using them for any of my future moves, and making sure my friends and family know to look elsewhere when they are moving.

KEITH POnly issue we had was after we got on the road the left tail light stopped working. There is a short in the wiring system somewhere because it worked intermittently.

PATRICK HI have no suggestions. We changed our plans and requested the truck a day earlier. They did not have the 20 foot truck but did offer the 15 foot truck. The reservation change was not problem. When picking it up they went over all the contract to rent and made sure we understood how to use the truck. Very friendly people. Would rent from them again.

DAVID Smy reservation was made in advance for a 10:00 am pickup. I was called 2 days prior and told i couldn’t get a truck until 1:00 pm unless i drive to Davenport. This was a huge inconvenience. I will not use U-haul again

Scott SLove this location. Only thing is that a bunch of trucks had been dropped off when I wanted to drop off the uhaul truck, so I had to park it really close to the road because of how congested it was.
