I made a reservation a week prior to our move. I wanted a 26 foot truck. I showed up early to my rental time and my truck hadn't been returned. The only place that had anything bigger than a 10 foot truck was 30 mins away in Coralville, Iowa. So not only was the the truck size that I needed unavailable but I had to drive 30 miles to get even a 20 foot truck. Then when I got to Coralville where the 20 foot truck was, they tried to convince me to rent a 15 foot truck. They did charge me only 59 cents per mile for mileage. However I had to drive 60 miles for dropoff and pickup so that "discount" for my inconvenience was negated. Because we had a smaller truck we have to make 2 trips between houses. Plus people that were coming to help me sat around for an hour because I was an hour late getting the truck to the house because of having to drive 30 miles and then wait at both places. I've moved a half dozen times in the past 10 years and I've always used a UHaul truck but after this experience I don't know if I'll use you again. The people were kind, but I dont feel I was given an appropriate discount for the hassle that I had to go through.

I think that the rentals should include 50-100 miles with the rental charge. I also think that if you only need the vehicle for part of the day that there should be a discount on the rental in the form of free miles. I understand you probably don't want to adjust the daily rental fee for half a day, but then the mileage rate should be discounted to half the normal rate.

U-Haul rep. that handled my transaction was 2 days on the job. I was sorry that he had not had the opportunity to receive more training. He had a great attitude. Trailer size that I had reserved was not available...had to substitute a different size.

I only wanted a normal size truck, the U-Haul rep I spoke with when ordering gave me a bigger size truck, which is obviously more expensive per mile. I will not be using U-Haul again.

Customer service was superb! I was in and out very quickly, and when I came back to attach the trailer the service was great. He attached the trailer, and guided me (after I returned with my vehicle) with driving my car onto the trailer. Then he secured my vehicle because it was my first experience with a trailer. All-in-all, I was able to load my entire apartment onto the U-Haul and the trailer with my vehicle in a few hours.

I understand system failures with todays technology. However, the staff at the Coralville UHaul did not communicate with the long line of customers that we would have a considerable wait (1 plus hours) to pick up our reserved rental. The customer service at this site needs to be reviewed by your leadership team.

I made the reservation online and pre-paid including uploading my information so check in would be easy. It was far from easy. The night before pick up I received a text message noting I was to pick up the truck in Davenport, more than an hour away from my residence. And check in in Coralville It took 25 minutes and they attempted to charge me $11 more than what I had already paid. I told them since I already paid they can’t raise the price. They told me it was a computer glitch. Not sure what was going on but I’m very unhappy about it.

We tried to do early pick up with the online reservation, but when we arrived the app said we had to do it in person. This lost us nearly 2 hours on moving day. I called customer service but after 45 minutes on hold I gave up. This is NOT good customer service and I am extremely frustrated with the experience. When I finally saw an agent, she was efficient, courteous and fast, which somewhat mollified me but didn't get my 2 hours back.

Sep 14, 2019, I returned U-Haul at 6:45 p.m. (the light in the office in Coralville was off, but they work until 7), but then the guy came out and dropped my key through the hole in the door. Next day U-Hall charged me an extra 20 $ for return after office hours. I've spent 20 min. to call them and ask for refinding.
