The truck was blocked in when I arrived. When I checked for the appliance dolly I paid for, it was not on the truck. I asked if they had one inside and after waiting for the gentleman to come back, I went inside and was told they don’t and I couldn’t take the regular dolly they had available. I had picked this location due to its proximity to my storage unit and had to drive 13 miles out of my way to pick up the dolly at another U-Haul location.

Online check-in means nothing. Desk clerk asked for all the same info that the online check-in asked for. He said that info never shows up for them. Had to submit all personal info again. He also tried to take a photo of my license with his phone. Had to stop him and did it myself with my phone for the app, which was already done.

I came in to have a hitch put on my 2025 veh, and i left with a rental truck because my car wouldnt start once the wiring portion of the install began. U-haul made me find and fund my own way home and at this point i still dont have a running car

I would NOT recommend UHaiul to anyone because I to had to down the app to rent the truck - I will rent from another company because of your app usage requirements. I was not aware of your policy when I arrived at your store - so I had to do it

The new process of utilizing only the app to make a reservation is a time consuming process that adds far too much time to the process. Once you take the time to initially go through the process at home you are not done as the process needs to be completed a SECOND time at the facility. Not sure why the process changed that adds too much time to however it ia a total waste of your customers time.

Pay more money to attract more/higher quality staff. The app check-in sucks and the whole process through the app absolute blows. If you're going to make customers use an app for damn near everything, use a better developer.

In addition to a vehicle, I ordered numerous pieces of equipment that said ready for pickup at my location. Upon arrival I asked for the items I ordered and was told “we know it’s in our POS system, but don’t carry any of that stuff. We can refund them and you can go buy your own somewhere else” even though there were also signs advertising those items on their front window. It’s actually a pretty smart scam - promise items up front so the customer arrives relying on them, fail to deliver them, offer a refund, and then direct them elsewhere so you make all of that money right back on the mileage they now have to travel hunting down other options. Make all the money and procedure zero of the product. Very clever. The one thing I was able to pick up is a mattress bags. However, they are advertised to have handles, that being the only reason I purchased one. They do not have handles, so you will pay $20+ for a piece of plastic that doesn’t even hold up as well as Saran Wrap - it ripped open seconds into the move, making it completely useless. Between U-Haul’s unreliability, and their bait-and-switch business practices, I’ll be sure to use any other company going forward before enduring this headache again

I booked a 26 ft at somerdale, then had to pick up at deptford, adding to my trip. The gas was close to E and I was told to fill up quarter tank. I ended up filling half a tank by accident but they wouldn't give me a credit on that 10.

Flooring (Cabin and loading area)was not very clean upon pickup. Paint was spilled on the loading area floor. I had to bring it to the U-Haul associates attention. Never saw him write it down. I was fearful that I would be charged for the damage even though it didn’t happen during my rental.

Donato was the representative assisting me, and he came across as respectful, kind, and professional. He seemed relatively new, and when I had a question, he brought in another associate to help. Unfortunately, my interaction with that second associate was disappointing. His tone felt dismissive, and I didn't feel heard or respected. It was frustrating, especially since I saw him interact much more kindly with another customer right after. I also had to locate the truck and figure everything out on my own. At other locations, staff have walked me to the vehicle and gone over how to use it, which makes a big difference. This time, it felt more like, "Here’s the keys, good luck." Despite that, I believe Donato has real potential and could grow in the role with the right support and example. Based on my overall experience, I wouldn’t return to this location, but others might have a different experience.

I used under the milage I paid for and refilled the gas tank to full and also cleaned the whole truck front and back they said I would get money back and they took everything they charged me for.... I'd rate a 0 if I could.... it's theft to make me pay for miles I didn't use then not give it back to me.... I will to with another truck rental from now on unless this is sorted out and I'm reimbursed for things I paid for and never used.....

Pick up and drop off locations both changed unexpectedly and without my knowledge. First, I was delayed because of the location change. The first replacement truck I was given had tons of body damage and a bad tire (wasn’t road worthy). Took a different truck which was assigned a new drop off location (w/o my knowledge). I was given a discount for the inconvenience and then following drop-off I was charged $70 extra. Awful service.
