Robert ADear Customer Service, I am writing to formally dispute a $200 smoking fee that was charged to my recent rental. At no point during the rental process was I informed—either verbally or in writing—of a no-smoking policy for the vehicle. Additionally, I did not observe any signage, decals, or notices inside the truck indicating that smoking was prohibited. I have also reviewed the paperwork provided to me at the time of rental, and there is no mention of a smoking restriction or associated fee. Because this policy was not clearly disclosed, I was not given a fair opportunity to comply. Charging a fee under these circumstances is both unexpected and, in my view, unjustified. I respectfully request that this $200 fee be removed or refunded. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. Janna MI know it says the location is poor but it isnt its actually very nice. The part that rates so far below poor i can't think of the word for it is uhaul customer service. I rented a truck from you guys and if you look i probably rent something from you 15 times a month every month and every time I rent something gets messed up this last one is it!!! Uhaul is trying to charge me over $300 almost $400 for my last rental but when I do the math I should have been within $20 of what I paid at the start of the rental. But when I try talking to a uhaul rep or a store employee im basically told im dumb and trying to steal and just shut up and pay this outrageous bill. First off as much as I rent I should get red carpet treatment you guys also need some kind of point program or rewards program but definitely in this case where you have overcharged by a massive amount your employees should be tripping over eachother to fix it. Idk all I can say not only did you overcharge me but the fee that hit when you tried hitting my account cause my phone bill to overdraft my account. Fix this

Paul ADesk agent told me to re-park the truck I was returning and go around to the bay and someone would help me there. The agent in the bay didn't even look up to greet me and told me to "use the key drop box and scan the QR code". Since the location was not yet closed, the key box was unlocked and open so I closed it and dropped the key. The QR took me to a page that wasn't functioning properly so I got simplified return instructions. All of this happened prior to their 7pm closure time but the next day I received an invoice for an additional rental day of the truck, moving equipment and was charged an after-hours delivery fee. Absolutely unacceptable. I called the UHaul 800 number and a gal named Toni helped me get the charges reversed so that was great! I think it's wild work that in this economy you would treat a customer like that. Zero stars for 53rd and State location.

Mayrene SIt was clean inside but the windows were filthy because the reservation was never assigned and they were ready when promised. Never assigned meant I couldn’t mobile checkout and it took 30 extra minutes to get a truck that was already reserved. I have had good experiences in the last here though. Appeared to be an honest oversight.

SHANE MI’ve probably rented from U-Haul maybe 10 times in the last few years. The place was clean and organized, which was a plus. And they had the trailer I was looking for. the first guy I talked to seemed like he couldn’t be bothered. Then the person that rented me the trailer didn’t really explain anything to me. Like asking me how long I need it for and what to do if something happens to it. When I reviewed the paperwork, I saw that they just selected six hours for the return for me. I’m a huge fan of U-Haul, but I would probably choose a different location next time. The new guy they were training was super friendly and helpful, he made me feel like he was grateful for my business.

MARK CI recently rented a cargo van from this location. The rental process was pretty straightforward and the staff was helpful. After using a traditional moving truck in the summer, the visibility and handling on the cargo van was excellent. While it fit under my covered parking spot, I did not like having to stoop over inside and I hit my head a few times. There was a sturdy grippy mat on the floor, which held my boxes nicely in place but did not make it easy to push stuff around. When returning the van, the check in process was more confusing than described. The QR code FORCED me to download the U-haul app in order to check it in, where as I could rent and take pictures on the website without the app. After downloading the app, I could not find where to check in my van, and the options were to buy or rent other things. After clicking on 100 different things, I tried logging in, or signing in, and eventually I figured out that I needed to type in my phone number, get a secure code, THEN I found the option to check in the cargo van. It was after hours and dark, and I was standing on the side of the building for 10-15 minutes figuring this out. I clicked on my rented cargo van, and it basically gave me the same checklist as the employee had earlier that day: park the van on the lot, make sure the gas is full, drop the key on the box. There was no confirmation to click or anything, the app just had the checklist and then forced me back. So I followed the checklist and thought I was good to go. In the morning, when I got my receipt, I discovered a $20 "after hours" fee. I called the office to inquire about this, because I didn't know there was a fee to return outside of office hours. Xavier graciously explained to me that if I drop it off outside of business hours and I don't get the confirmation completed in the app, then they add on that fee when checking in. I explained to him my experience in the app, and he took off the fee for me. I really appreciated this, because it was such a big hassle, and I hate confusing apps that don't work as easily as they should. Whatever happened to as few clicks as possible? Anyway, I took off a star because of the confusing, misleading check-in process that did not work on my android phone. I'm glad I had fast data to download the app, but it could easily be problematic for many people in the same situation, who wouldn't feel safe standing outside a building at night. Overall, good experience, but it could have been better with ease of use after an exhausting day hauling my stuff. And shout-out again to Xavier for listening to me and for solving my problem. I appreciated his professionalism and expertise.

DAVID BI use so many different U-Haul locations, but this one constantly tries to scam us! We always fill up the gas to full and they still throw a charge on for a couple of gallons or a random set of blankets. They have done this multiple times to us so always check your receipt. It’s a shame because it’s the only one in the area that does this. I also pay online for the trucks and every other location is okay with that but this place make me pay there with a physical card. So poorly ran.

david pThe U-Haul system had been slow due to a crash earlier in the day. I was a little annoyed to see staff stopping to vape while running to get a wire for the trailer. I'd recommend giving staff enough breaks so they don't feel the need to vape while working.

CRAIG NI tried to go to another local Uhaul location and it was a terrible experience. So much so, that I ended up leaving and went to this one. This is the 3rd time I have used this location since and always will. Front desk staff has been great and the techs outside as well.

BRIAN KI am a frequent customer at this location, typically renting trucks four to six times a year to move holiday stuff between my home and storage unit. However, my most recent experience was very disappointing, and I have noticed a decline in service over the last several months. During this rental, the driver’s side mirror was missing a bolt. Any bump or speed over 40 mph caused the mirror to shift, requiring constant manual adjustment. This was a significant safety hazard. Additionally, I always take photos of the gas gauge and mileage upon departure and return. Although I received the truck with three-quarters of a tank and returned it at the same level, I was still charged for a gallon of gas.
