First off all , we couldn’t register on line for a 2nd driver. The website is to complicated and inefficient in certain parts. But the worst was a very bad customer service, the agent was quite incompetent and the staff was rude, particularly the manager. Plus, one day before the end of my reservation someone call me and said that my rent was over. This person was really impolite and when I said that I’ve the contract in front of me saying that my rent finish the day after, she closed the phone suddenly without a word. So, my experience is really bad and I was really upset in front of those manners which have no place in a services company. The office is at Montréal, on Jean Talon street.

C'est vraiment pas clair, surtout à cause du vocabulaire utilisé par U-Haul. On a une réservation mais qui n'est pas vraiment une réservation puisqu'on n'a pas un espace de stockage de garanti. Et ensuite on parle de "move in" pour ce qui est vraiment un "check in". Pour moi le "move in" c'est le jour où j'arrive avec mes affaires, mais pour U-Haul le "move in" c'est quand on a enfin une vraie unité qui nous est attribuée (et où commence à payer). Heureusement le personnel de Jean-talon a été super et a pu m'aider à régler tout ceci et faire en sorte que j'ai bien un espace de stockage pour le jour de mon déménagement. Merci à eux !

I ended up adding more fuel than needed (so basically giving back free fuel to U-Haul because the tank graduations are not very precise) 2) The application for returning the truck is horrible. Despite a good phone and internet connection, loading between every step of the process took minute, ending up with 20/30 minutes of check-out while the process should take way less But the truck was nice, and the employees at the Jean Talon Ouest succursale were really nice and professional at time of pickup !

I had to argue with the receptionist that this isn’t acceptable due to reserving the truck over a month in advance. They later said that I reserved the truck on the wrong day. After showing an email confirmation, they told me that I reserved on the wrong day online. I advised them to check again the email and what is in the system. They later went to say that I was the last person to reserve, and they had no trucks available. I had to continue to argue my point that I reserved over a month in advance. They later provided a truck. This is unacceptable customer service. I would not recommend others to use this branch as it was the worst experience I have had with a rental company on a moving day.

I was transferred to a line with a thirty minute wait, then after a long wait the call dropped. I had a back injury earlier in the week but ended up having to load and unload anyway in spite of booking help with my reservation. I will never use Uhaul again.

The truck had less than 1/4 of a tank of gas (which was marked at 1/4 on the contract). Who wants to fill up a truck the night before the move?!? That should have been done. The tank should be full. I know you could better than this.

Donc franchement, niveau réservation des locals c'est horrible. vous devriez changer cela !

Guy L | First ImpressionsI'd reserved a van for 11 but when I got there at 10:30 the person who previously had the van had not returned with the van and was still using the van and did not know when he would be done with the van. The agent called him a number of times and tried to encourage him to return the van as soon as possible but they were very limited in what they could do. With only a $50 later charge, I don't feel this is a strong enough fine. I would recommend you update our late charges, it could be a sliding scale but later than 1hr should really be heavily fined to heavily discourage people for bringing back trucks over 1hr late. Or you add a bigger buffer between rentals. Ultimately I didn't get the truck I had reserved and only at 1pm was I able to get a smaller truck. But that was a 2 hours delay. The delay and the smaller truck meant that I wasn't able to complete my move on that day. The agent I spoke to was very nice and tried her best to remedy the situation, she did offer a discount on the rental which was appreciated but when the bill was made, the truck was returned after hours so the bill wasn't settled in person, the discount wasn't applied by whoever settled the bill so I had to call again to get the discount applied. The understanding and attempts at remedying the situation made by the agent I spoke with on the day saved this experience.

Je rencontre un des employés qui me dit que le véhicule est mal stationné et que pour le récupérer il faut déplacer tous les véhicules qui sont en avant vu qu'il avait la presse de faire son boulot, il me demande de changer de vehicule, alos que le contrat de location a déja été signé avec un véhicule différent. Je dois retourner a reception pour demander un nouveau. Tout cela dans une temperature a -15 dégés. L'employé ne prendra même pas la peine de contacter la réception pour précisier que le véhicule est mal stionné et qu'un nouveau doit m'être attribué. Ils m'ont fait perdre pres de 40 minutes dans ces bêtises. Par la suite aucun nouveau contrat de location n'a été signé avec le nouveau véhicule et je me suis rendu compte qu'il y avait un défaut en dessous du pare-choc avant. Le service client est mediore comme les véhcules disponibles. J'étais au uhaul sur Jean Talon.

When I picked up the truck, the tank wasn’t full, but unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo. Based on the calculations on their website—where a 10-foot truck supposedly uses 1 gallon of gas per 12 miles—I expected to be charged around $7 for not refilling. Instead, they charged me $36! The customer service was poor and unresponsive when I called back to resolve this issue. Overall, it was an awful experience, and I won’t be using them again. I could have hired a truck along with someone to help me for half the cost.

I have reserved a 10' storage unit as a part of my month of free storage when reserving a UHaul truck at the Jean-Talon location in Montreal. I had ensured my reservation was confirmed about 2 months before the move. When I got to the location, they told me that the general UHaul team and the Jean-Talon UHaul team were not in contact, so the reservation was never made in their system. So instead of the storage unit I reserved, I had 2 options: A) take a much smaller unit with them (as that was all that was available) or B) go much further in Laval and put my stuff in their storage unit. The staff overall was very nice and the facilities were adequate, but this obviously was not what I wanted. Would not recommend this to a friend.

Au cours des années, nous soulignons la courtoisie du personnel à notre égard, l'excellent travail de Mme Line Vaillant pour répondre à nos interrogations et ses suggestions pour régler le PEU de problèmes survenus au cours de ces 11 années. Le seul commentaire moins positif (et pour lequel il y a peu ou pas de solution) est le peu d'espace de stationnement pour les locataires aux heures d'achalandage. Même dans ces situations, le personnel a fait son possible pour nous aider, quitte à déplacer des camions UH. C'est sans hésitation que nous avons recommandé UH Jean-Talon O à nos amis.

When I went back to pay my renewal yesterday, October 26, there were two different guys quiet and friendly who did not shout « one at a time ». Your staff behaviour is inconsistent.

She goes out of her way to do the best she can for her clients and is always friendly, hepful, and generally makes the experience a really good one. I finally closed my locker of 25 years as I am moving to Ontario, and I went to Line and opened a small locker for the overflow while moving. As always, an easy, unstressed successful solution is found. Line is super accommodating and I do believe this is what brings people back. It is for me! Thank you, u-Haul and team!

I cancelled my contract 3 days after my reservation due to the filthiness of the place. Such a waist of money. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to care at all and he told me there's nothing he could do for me. I called the manager the next day, was told I would get a cal back. I'm still waiting. I'm so dissapointed by the service.
