The only reason I understand the truck inside was not clean was because they had just got back from previous customers and staff was overloaded and didn’t get time to properly clean it before I came to pick it up. The lovely and well mannered agent apologize.

I was charged for 221 miles but I travelled only 50 miles. Now charges are under dispute with u haul.

This was my first time using U-Haul, and honestly, it left a lot to be desired. After realizing I had more stuff than I thought, I switched from a 10’ to a 15’ truck a week before the move. The day before I was supposed to pick it up, a customer service rep calls to say the only trucks at my pickup spot were for one-way trips, not what I needed, but I rolled with it because what else could I do, right? We went over the details for a 15’ truck, and I even finished the online pre-check-in with all my info and driver’s license uploaded. Cut to pick-up day, and it’s like my reservation never existed. I had to go through the online steps twice more right in the store because they didn’t stick the first time. Then, the kicker: the manager says they’ve never even had 15’ trucks at that location—just 10’ ones. Because you have to book the freight elevator in my building a week in advance and it’s only free for a couple of hours, I was stuck. I couldn’t get the 15’ truck from another location in time, so I had to make do with the smaller truck. Ended up having to run two trips instead of one, driving an extra 100 km and shelling out an extra hundred bucks. I’m baffled how a company that’s been around so long could drop the ball like this. They could’ve sorted this out when they called to confirm, but nope, they let it all just happen. Super disappointed and just speechless. If I could give U-Haul a negative rating, believe me, I would.
