The support staff is great, experienced & professional, That said, even though I checked in on line, the actual in office wait time & completion process still took over 20 to 30 minutes. There has got to be a better more efficient way! PLEASE don't blame Covid!?#HAROLD V.

You phone customer service has flaws. I scheduled the pickup for the "Curtner Ave. - San Jose" location. The day prior, your customer service calls and says they don't have any auto transports there, and I would need to pick it up at "The Alameda - San Jose" location. I didn't want to do that. So, I asked about the Campbell, CA location. Yes, they said that was available, so we moved it to there. Later that day, I get another call. They said the same thing: "they don't have any auto transports at the Curtner location, and I would need to pick it up at "The Alameda - San Jose" location. Huh? I told them someone had already called me about that and I moved it to Campbell. She checks in the system, and says "No, it says The Alameda" She says she'll switch it to the Campbell location. Thanks. The morning of the pickup, I get an email. It says my trailer is all ready. At the "Alameda" location. WTF? So, guess what I did? I went and looked at my ORIGINAL location that I wanted (Curtner, Ave.) and they had them. So, I went there. I get there, and guess what? They have 4 auto transports available. I asked the guy if they just showed up. He says, no - they've been here all week. If that's the case, why did you change it on me to begin with? Frustrating.Wayne Y.

While the transport, delivery and pod #'s were accurate and satisfactory, I am not impressed with the mix-match of information. I had to make this reservation prior to knowing my new end location. The original rep said there would be no issues with updating my order from a simple city name. Upon calling back, it took me 2 hours to and 3 people later to adjust my order with the correct delivery address. Additionally, I never had access to my u-haul reservation on the online system or app. It always came up as nothing, so I had no opportunity to fix anything on my own. Once I got to my new address I experienced issues and had to relocate. Without prior authorization u-haul changed my delivery location which further messed up my pick info. When my movers arrived to collect my things there was no record on u-haul's end that they were retrieving anything. Luckily, my movers have experienced these hiccups and were able to get my belongings to me on schedule. Please fix your system and communicate better with your clients. The odometer reading was wayyy off when I first got in the car and even after I took a picture Of the actual mileage the tech still almost charged me for 3x the miles I drove. Luckily we fixed it quickly by looking at the picture I took at pickup but it can be easy for someone to miss. So just be more accurate with the mileage on the cars.AFSHEEN M.

It really saves time to complete the check in online before picking up the vehicle. I did and was in my reserved truck in less than 10 minutes. That was after being in line behind a customer who took at least 20 minutes to rent their vehicle.RITA T.

Accepting cash in the form of a deposit would certainly help some customers who don't have any type of credit/debit card. I noticed that a customer was taking fairly long because they had this issue and were trying various types of cards that turned out to not be acceptable.Jesus H.
Everything was done well and prepared for us even though we had to again specify for at least the third time that this was a one way rental to Gilbert, Arizona and not a round trip that would return to the Bay Area drop off location in Fremont. The staff at the Curtner store got this changed as it repeatedly defaulted back to returning to Fremont. He finally got it to accept the one way rental to Arizona.Robin E.

As I was waiting in line, separated by at least 6 ft guided by the floor signs, a young man entered the store with no mask. As I sing if he could please use a mask he blew me off. The staff saw him, I told them about he having no mask and just acknowledge. While I was attending my rental he went to the next attendant and was able to duo his business with no one asking him about wearing a mask. Not a good way of managing for all your customers, I will not be here again until the pandemic is over and the staff manages accordingly. Not too much to askJAVIER P.

Only complaint was no customer service rep present when we entered store to check in for rental. We were waiting for about 15 minutes and no one was present. Finally another customer left store to flag down some help. We had same experience when returning vehicle. Waited for awhile then we had to step outside to find an employee. They may be short on help, but leaving store unattended isn't great, even though cameras were around. Would be so easy for someone to shoplift. Also, not good to keep folks waiting. Please alert corporate office that San Jose store at 705 Curtner needs more staff or they should at least always have an employee present in store. Customer service reps were polite and helpful when they assisted us.JUDY R.

The truck I rented had soap or some kind of oil that mad my work hard and I tweaked my leg by slipping on the substance. Maybe check the back or after cleaning make sure the surface is workable or walkable thanks.SAMUEL F.
Your online checkout used to great, it was such a horrible crash and burn fail now and created such a poor user experience it made me question if I will use U-Haul again. 1. The new process to get a second approval I was renting after hours and so work verification and other means were not Easy. If I was asked to give passport that would have been easy but I didn't know to have. I had also rented via this method about 4-5 times successfully, why didn't this logic allow more flexibility or bypass of these questions are risk mitigation? After this failed, the live agent was unable to pickup and had to start the res clean as the vehicle was showing unavailable. All around bad experience as I was using this to save time the changes ended up costing me too much.HUDSON S.

Rented a 26ft truck. Came with ZERO gas!!! Was told somebody siphoned the tank overnight. The guy went to the gas station to fill a 5 gal can to put in the tank. Wouldn't take the truck to the station. Why was this MY PROBLEM? You rent a truck for a 300+ mile trip and it comes with 5 gal. gas. Sorry, that is not acceptable.Christopher H.
Here's my short story. I rented a truck, i picked our cabinets, the helper locked the trailer, we got to the job site and discovered that they had neglected to put a lock key on the ring. I drive BACK to uhaul, i get a key, do the delivery, I drop off the truck and tell them that I should not be charge the extra mileage because it was their oversight that caused me to put on the extra mileage. I was basically blown off by the the person checking in the truck and was charged for the extra miles anyway. wasnt much but thats not the point.TIMOTHY F.
