When we tried to confirm our reservation online and tried calling the customer service center, we were not able to get thru.We went to the U Haul location,and we were informed the website was down. The pick up location in San Jose was neat and orderly. The person assisting with the pick up was having difficulty with the computer and the transaction took more than 40 minutes. I was given the rental contract and paid for the rental. We were asked to drive around back to hook up the tow dolly. I was driving a 33 foot class A motorhome and asked if the dolly could be rolled to the front. The staffer, I believe his name was Jose, said no and I was instructed to back up through an array of haphazardly parked vehicles. We had asked if he could load the tow vehicle onto the dolly, he commented that they charge $100 to perform the service. We opted to load it ourselves and he vaguely instructed us how to do it. The tow dolly seemed to be in good working order.RICHARD G.

You phone customer service has flaws. I scheduled the pickup for the "Curtner Ave. - San Jose" location. The day prior, your customer service calls and says they don't have any auto transports there, and I would need to pick it up at "The Alameda - San Jose" location. I didn't want to do that. So, I asked about the Campbell, CA location. Yes, they said that was available, so we moved it to there. Later that day, I get another call. They said the same thing: "they don't have any auto transports at the Curtner location, and I would need to pick it up at "The Alameda - San Jose" location. Huh? I told them someone had already called me about that and I moved it to Campbell. She checks in the system, and says "No, it says The Alameda" She says she'll switch it to the Campbell location. Thanks. The morning of the pickup, I get an email. It says my trailer is all ready. At the "Alameda" location. WTF? So, guess what I did? I went and looked at my ORIGINAL location that I wanted (Curtner, Ave.) and they had them. So, I went there. I get there, and guess what? They have 4 auto transports available. I asked the guy if they just showed up. He says, no - they've been here all week. If that's the case, why did you change it on me to begin with? Frustrating.Wayne Y.

Great customer service! (The call center is very "confused", they called, said equipment was not available and schedule other equipment at another location. Drove to the "other" location to find that I was given the wrong information, my equipment was at the location I wanted!)JOEL M.
The odometer reading was wayyy off when I first got in the car and even after I took a picture Of the actual mileage the tech still almost charged me for 3x the miles I drove. Luckily we fixed it quickly by looking at the picture I took at pickup but it can be easy for someone to miss. So just be more accurate with the mileage on the cars.AFSHEEN M.
Fuel was below empty on the truck so I had to rush to find a gas station that could fit the truck. Other than that everything was good. The guy who checked me in and out was great.JAMES H.
It really saves time to complete the check in online before picking up the vehicle. I did and was in my reserved truck in less than 10 minutes. That was after being in line behind a customer who took at least 20 minutes to rent their vehicle.RITA T.

Accepting cash in the form of a deposit would certainly help some customers who don't have any type of credit/debit card. I noticed that a customer was taking fairly long because they had this issue and were trying various types of cards that turned out to not be acceptable.Jesus H.
Everything was done well and prepared for us even though we had to again specify for at least the third time that this was a one way rental to Gilbert, Arizona and not a round trip that would return to the Bay Area drop off location in Fremont. The staff at the Curtner store got this changed as it repeatedly defaulted back to returning to Fremont. He finally got it to accept the one way rental to Arizona.Robin E.
