Picking up and the truck itself was excellent, however when I went to drop off the truck the employee at the store was extremely Unhelpful. The store was to close at 7pm I showed up 10 minutes till, hoping to finish the transaction so the employees could go home. I waited in the truck as the sign had indicated but no one came out to check me in. After a few minutes I got out of the truck and went to go in but the doors where locked. The man inside just pointed to the night drop box and refused to help us because they where closed. This was all before 7pm. I would not have made a big deal about it except I wanted to pay cash for my rental Not to have my card charged. All the man at the door would say is come back tomorrow. That for me was not possible. Next time I’ll find another rental company.

Make sure that the vehicles are actually clean. The van that I got was not clean there were sodas left in the door from the previous person and dog food in the back. The inside of the cab was filthy and it smelled very strongly of Lysol or some other cleaning solution like they just sprayed a bunch in there and that was it. There was dog hair all over the seats overall it was not clean at all, and considering what is happening right now with the coronavirus that was not acceptable.

I was charged an extra $20 after I dropped off the trailer after 7 a.m for dropping off “out of hours” but the store was open so it wasn’t after hours. I was there at 7 a.m and nobody was there so I left my slip and took pictures of the time I dropped it off only to get to work and find that they charged me extra for that. I called the store numerous times without getting an answer and when I finally did a very RUDE Lady name SABRINA refused to help me and put me on hold and transferred me to corporate where I got no answer. I eventually had to hang up because I had to get to work. I worked at U-Haul for years and know the ropes of this job and this location is very poor and this lady has very poor customer service skills. I wouldn’t recommend this location ever.

It was so pleasant to deal with these folks the manager was wonderful she made a last minute reservation so quick and easy...I would definitely recommend this uhaul site to all of my family and friends....keep up the good work

Very disappointed with customer service. She was rather rude as I asked her questions. Then she took out a cellphone, took my drivers license and took a picture of the front and back of my CDL:(!! In my opinion that is invasion of privacy!! I asked if it was a company phone, but she told me it was her own personal phone:( Then her comment was, "You don't have to rent from us, if this bothers you!" Very rude!!! Not good here at all:(:(

Was bummed that there was a sticking to the contract instead of reasoning with common sense. The computers took over and the people forgot customers are people. Was a bummer.

I tried to get a tuck from McHenry but the kid working was a moron. I showed up to pick up my vehicle an the first one didn't start. The 2nd one was so out of gas it was running rough and I was afraid to drive it but third time a charm. Nope it wasn't clean someone posted a gallon of fabaloso in the truck an sent out as clean. No one walked around the vehicle to even inspect it.

Info provided by rep on phone, and info I entered for online preregistration, should be fully and consistently communicated to desk personnel upon pick-up of vehicle, in order to expedite check-out procedure.

I was charged $100.00 deposit which was susposed to be refunded to me when truck was returned but they refused to give it back. i called modesto too they wouldnt talk to me. stop lying to people to get more money.

I had to wait for an hour because they couldn’t find the key to the truck that was blocking my rental truck. They were very kind about it but I lost an hour off my moving day. I feel like I should have been compensated for my inconvenience.

My contract had mild at 998.01 and they said the gas was at like 1/4or1/2tank and it was more like 1/3tank so bring it to there utinching and thay fix the gas and they say they fixet the mileage to and they did not it was at 999.08 so win I bring it to them a gen sill got me for ten miles and I bring the truck back weth 1/2 tank of gas

Site was 51 miles away from where equipment was needed. Painful long drive there and back. Be nice is equipment actually was local. Trailer had strong marijuana smell inside but otherwise was fine.

I didn't like that I reserved the truck at a different location/McHenry, received a message the following day to pick it up at this location. I end up paying more milage, so uhaul shouldn't said is available at certain place when is not!

My truck broke down in a city 100 miles away. Roadside assistance suggested that I speak with the traffic department about having me change the drop off location because it would be too costly to have them pick it up. I called and we got disconnected. When I called back, the Modesto Ca traffic person was extremely rude assuming that I hung up the phone. Then she stated that there was nothing she can do to help me because it wasn’t their fault that my truck broke down.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with uhual. This place should be looked into. The truck was dirty, had last users belongings still inside, and the wires to the trailer were NOT CONNECTED. Could’ve been killed. Upon arrival I was treated quite rudely and was charged more than quoted online. The did not follow protocol and do the inspection as others have in the past.
