For starters, I requested a trailer with ramp and I received an older trailer which did not have a ramp that did not touch the ground. I was moving a piano with wheels and I had to get three people to carry it on and off the trailer. Second, I was told by the customer service rep that I rented me the trailer that I was to return the trailer by 8:00 AM Sunday to prevent an additional day charge. I was told someone was going to be at the location at 8AM to assist me. Nobody was at the location and did not show up until 8:45 AM. I waited for 45 minutes and wasted my valuable Sunday morning sitting in my vehicle waiting for these people to show up to work! I will not be renting from this location ever again!!!!!!JEFFREY S.

I reserved my truck to be picked up at the McHenry location several days in advance. It was supposed to be ready at 11am. I was told they had no truck for me. I was told the truck would be available tomorrow. I said I reserved it, and my helpers won't be available tomorrow. They couldn't do anything about it. They said the other location had a smaller truck so we went over there. Actually, they had the size truck that I reserved! Now UHaul tries to do things all techie but obviously they don't realize we're in the 21st century. The new uhaul staff were GREAT. They were courteous and helpful. The staff at the other location were also but it was the incompetence of the Uhaul system. They should have called the people with the truck I had reserved to find out where they were and then call me to let me know. But I guess Uhaul the corporate office doesn't care about their customers. The Uhaul staff at both locations were put in a bad spot. They were young people who did their jobs well but corporate Uhaul doesn't know how to run things in the 21st Century.KENNETH J.

This uhaul changed my order 1.5 days before I moved... to a location 2 hours away! Then, I was told by Ashley that she was refunding the $50 guarantee fee I paid to get trailer in Vacaville, CA. Guess what - no money was returned AND my guarantee was NOT honored. Also, both employees were walking around and hoping in and out of trucks without masks on. Glad I got a trailer in stead of a truck with COVID. I literally hate uhaul as of now. WORST customer service ever and I should not have to pay hundred of dollars more than other states. Get trailers back in stock - create a better business pls other than screwing over your consumers. Your business model failed, so you fix it. Which clearly you won't.Julie M.

Pick up was excellent however the drop off was horrible. I waited in the lobby because they were busy which is fine. At point of being charged I was charged for an extra day for 2minutes which was spent waiting. The representative was highly frazzled and very defensive. I'm being double charged for the rental. Store 0071035, at 209-576-8249 charged me $145.21 on February 21, 2021. And now I'm being charged an additional $102.03 that's waiting to go through my account. The additional charges for the mileage should've been about $37 extra and not $102.03. The reason why I wouldn't recommend this place is because the employee wasn't remotely interested in helping me. I rented a new truck from Sacramento and on her end it showed something completely different. She was telling me I was going to have additional charges. Charges that I shouldn't have. I returned it the same day, was under the miles I was given and returned it with same amount of gas. She said I had to take it up with the Sacramento location and that she couldn't receive the truck. I know the info . Showing on her end wasn't her fault. But the unwillingness to be helpful. I had my contract and It confirmed information I was providing. The gentleman at the Sacramento had to tell her what to do. Her attitude was that she shouldn't have to do any of that extra stuff. Not caring that I was getting extra charges for no reason. I was running behind, so I called the local number listed online for this U-Haul location and spoke with a man who bumped my reservation from 2:00pm to 2:30pm. When we arrived at 2:30pm the employees were renting out the van we had reserved. We were told that we were late and our reservation had been cancelled. I explained that we had called and moved our reservation to a later time, but they argued with me and said they had not received my call, and perhaps I had been routed to the Uhaul customer service? When I showed them my call log they finally stopped arguing with me. Horrible customer service, why would you argue and accuse me of lying about my reservation? Do not stack bookings, so the customer that reserved a truck almost a week in advance will have what they need. Do not send the customer 30 minutes out of there way to pick up another truck and then the supposed discount on mileage is meaningless because they have to drive extra miles.JESSE R.
When up the vehicle I was told the price would be 118 dollars and some change. When I dropped it off I was told the same thing. I got home and checked my credit card and 137 dollars and some change. So I called the same day the person that answered the phone told me I would have to call back the next day. So the next day they said they only charge me 118 dollars. That I had a 9 dollars and 11 dollars refund . Moral of the story is I would have gotten over charge had I not checked my card and called repeatedly.SHUS T.

Customer representative at the counter was very rude and denied having any trucks or vans available even though there were plenty. She just didn't want to help me because she's racist to Asians. I was super nice and asked to see a 10 footer. She said no. I told her she has a few right there. And she says not for me. So I reserved a 10 footer through the phone and Asked her again. This time she lied right to my face saying that a customer just brought one in, even though I got the one that was parked earlier. She lied about the mileage and the damage in the truck. It was a end of the day return stated on my contact and she was trying to get me not to return it to pay fees. I had until 8 on my contact but she said she was closing at 7 and kept keeping me waiting to get the truck by pretending she didn't have the keys. She said a customer took the wrong keys. She was also sick, boogers, sneezing, coughing and throwing up. She needs to be fired for the horrible things she put me through. I'm willing to take them to court unless she gets fired.SOUPHONE C.

The truck was old and needed the front wheels balanced. Shock badly when driving. The back brakes were awful and on downhills when brakes applied the whole truck shuddered very badly to the point that it nearly put me off the road several times. Extremely dangerous Having booked the equipment for pickup in San Jose, CA it was terrible that I have to drive 122 miles to this location just to pick the equipment up and then drive another 122 miles back even before I started my move. I had reserved a one way Uhaul truck for Monday the 28th to picup at 7 cuz the movers were coming at 8 am. Even though the lot was full, the Lady said she did not have a truck 4me on a one way trip. I rent from uhaul 2 or 3 times a month and if I don't pay close attention to my invoices they always try to put on extra charges. It's very annoying. It's expensive enough, why do they constantly try to get more?LARRY K.
I asked a few times about the gas information and all I was told is that if I bring back the truck then I will find out the pricings. I was never told after they calculated the funds I was not able to go back and fill gas. They never informed me of a 30 dollar gas filling fee or a 4.95 gal charge per gallon. I ordered a 95 dollar truck due to the pandemic I had to move twice this year and the truck I purchased was $95 dollars but after the gas charges it came out to $220.55 dollars. That's more than half what I paid for in the truck. During this time it's hard and anything that has to be about money charges should be brought to all customers attention. The employee who works in giving customers information there should inform anything that would cause a charge to a customer that gas will be 4.95 a gallon and there will be a 30 dollar charge to fill it up.KARINA K.
Overall just a dirty place. Truck has seen better days. Kansas Ave location was fine to work with. I also had a reservation at the Mchenry Ave location, but upon arrival I was told by the Biden Voter lady who worked there, that she would not help me if I didn't wear a mask. I told her I wasn't going to wear a mask, and that I already did the online check in. She said it didn't matter. I asked her to please explain to me what the purpose of a mask was? And how this actually helps with anything. She said she couldn't and asked me to leave. To which I gladly told her to cancel my reservation. Turning away customers in a down turned economy is really business savvy of people. People wonder why they're going broke, well here's a perfect example. I don't feel bad for all these failing business who are closed up or not working, you all do it to yourselves. Open your business, stop turning away people because of masks, stop letting the Govt scare you out of your day to day lives. This is America not China.Brett M.

The size of the truck we wanted to rent was not available within 50 miles. Had to reserve a smaller size truck. Reserved two hand trucks, but the location did not have any in stock! Extremely difficult to move without hand trucks. Also, we purchased a dozen furniture blankets and received a bag. Didn't realize that the bag only contained 6 blankets until we were packing the truck and it was too late to obtain more. The first truck we were given had a problem with the tire pressure and an indicator light was displayed on the dashboard, luckily we saw this right before we pulled out of the driveway and had to switch trucks. When making the reservation online it showed that the mattress covers were completely out of stock at this location and I had to purchase them elsewhere at a much higher price. Yet, when I arrived at the U haul location, there were dozens available. I wanted to confirm my reservation, since so many locations did not have trucks available and to see if the location had mattress covers in stock, so I called the specific number for that store. After remaining on hold for almost a half hour the person I spoke with was not at the Kansas Ave. location and was not able to answer all my questions. I don't understand why I get transferred to other locations when I call a specific store number!JESSICA L.

The clerk Erica Reyes that assisted me was flat out rude and insulting. My rental agreement noted 7/8 gas in the tank. I got in and it was slightly below 3/4 tank. She told me to go on the app and submit a photo. I was told by the person that checked me out to come back in and let them know if anything was wrong, so I asked if we could just fix it now before I left. She rolled her eyes, went out and still said 7/8. I told her that was incorrect and she said I was wrong. Obviously I was not getting anywhere with her. I took a photo before I drove off and submitted it to the app. Upon returning the vehicle I first filled it with gas up to exactly 3/4 tank at the gas station one block away. I returned the vehicle and suddenly Erica could read fractions a little better! She said I was at 11/16. I told her no, it's at 3/4 tank. I showed her my original photo and asked why she had previously insisted the tank was 7/8 and asked her to look at the gauge again. She insisted it was at 11/16, and said â€œI guess we're both wrongâ€. My final paperwork showed 11/16. I have photos of the gas level with the mileage at leaving and returning the vehicle. Additionally, the rental I used reeked of pot. I will NEVER again use uhaul and I would not recommend their service. So rude!LINDSEY K.

The trailer was not at the location as reserved. I waited but it did not show up. They found another at another location and reserved it. When I got to this location I asked when they closed and it was 3:45 I told him that I could not have back that soon. He said I could bring it back in the morning. I told him I needed to bring it back that day as I would be out of town the following day and I did not want to pay for a day I didnt need. He said there was another location with 24 hour drop off but they did not have the size I needed. I asked why can't I just drop this one off there. He told me no, it had to come back to his location. I told him it is not my fault that you guys did not provide the trailer when I was promised and now I can not even rent one because of your rules preventing me from dropping it off at another location in the same town and you close early.
