The woman who checked me in and checked me out was very nice, professional, and courteous. However, when returning the vehicle yesterday I was told to "go outside and check out" very rudely by an older man. He came out to the desk from the office area because the regular employees were busy checking in vehicles that were recently returned I suppose. I had never returned a vehicle there before and the older man was very rude but overall it was a good experience. A little pricey but I would use this service again.

This Corona virus has everyone on edge. Establishing a rental on line must include the fact that you still have to wait in line when you get to the facility. You still have to have your drivers license etc, reviewed. Really not a time saver I will never do it again.

Our trailer that our car was on caught on fire. The reject who put our car on who worked there wrapped the chain around the emergency break and the wheels got so hot it exploded. Could have turned been fatal for me and my husband.

The equipment was in need of attention. I insisted it before I left. Your web site AND employees have drop off sites for equipment that NO LONGER EXISTS! The hoops you have to jump thru to rent this equipment is NOT customer friendly. I was very disappointed with the performance of U-Haul.

This experience was not great. Several problems occurred one after another. Friday night rush occurred as I imagine is a normal cycle. The trailer rental took an hour. The 4-pin trailer light connector was bent by staff. Did not take any responsibility. I had to purchase a 7 pin adapter 1 hour after the store “closed” and could not accommodate me combing back later despite helping other customers. Once returned, refused to return the 7 pin adapter, failed to check in my trailer despite informing me the task was complete. Received a call today once again dealing with a late trailer return.

It took and hour and a half to rent a cargo van and a storage space and thats with a reservation. I have rented cars all over the United States and it has never taken an a quarter of the time. Uhaul has much to learn. Not a place I would recommend

Your employees need to work on their customer service. They were rude and abrasive and they treated the customer ahead of me so rude the ended up leaving without pursing his rental. Next time I am in need of a rental, I will be looking elsewhere. When calling to verify emergency contacts, try SAYING WHO YOU ARE instead of just saying you need to know if the person you’re talking to is who was written down. SO rude Visalia location!

Ask a worker cleaning the rigs for help and he told me to go to the front counter. I told him I did it on line and need help finding my truck and he said do what very the instructions say. He was not helpful at all. I am a board member for an organization that will be using uhaul twice as much next year and will not allow my board to use this location again. I will probably find another company for truck rental Even I have to wait. I’ve kept quiet about the wait time and customer service but refusing to help was that last straw.

The staff were extremely disorganized and slow with drawing up contract even though I had done it online. Then they just had us do the inspection using the online checklist. The truck was filthy and I had to clean it before I could load it. Had all kinds of problems with the shifter and over drive switch going in and out. Then just had to leave truck there because no one would come do it waited 30 minutes. Overall more work dealing with all of that than what my move took.

Multiple computer issues. Guys were great but never got a copy of agreement, not even by email.

Really short on staff!! Waited over a hour to be checked in and its not 19.99 for the day! They charge .99 cents a mile plus ALWAYS check the fuel before you leave and the mileage!! The customer service was ok, but the reason i think was because the lack of staff! This store is OVERWHELMED with customers and does not have the staff to handle it! I waited over a hour and a half because they only had one person working at the counter with a line out the door! I really felt bad for the one person and the few other gentlemen running ragged like chickens with their heads cut off!! NEED TO HIRE MORE STAFF AND PAY THESE HARD WORKING FOLKS BETTER PAY!! WHEN YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES, THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE OWNERS OR EMPLOYERS PERIOD!!! 10 TO 12 BUCKS A HOUR WILL NOT SUPPORT ANYTHING IN CALIFORNIA!!! QUIT BEING GREEDY AND SELFISH AND START PAYING MORE THEN 10 TO 12 BUCKS A HOUR AND YOU WILL SEE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN WORKER'S, SALES, AND PROFITS!!!!! I really hope companies like this WILL step up and start paying folks better wages to live off of because at the end of the day, you and all these other MULTI MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATIONS HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY ITS WORKERS AND THE FAMILIES!! Without workers, you guys wouldn't be selling or making any money at all, so again back to taking care of the employees and in return they bring profit to the companies!!

We frequent this specific location many times and have always had great service. This time was a different story. They were busy and usually are, however the customer service was awful! There were two new people running the front desk and I assume they’re new because I’ve never seen them there before and they weren’t wearing a Uhaul polo or name tag. I reserved our truck online went to get it and had to wait a solid 35-40 minutes just to have everything confirmed and to leave. After 20 minutes waiting for my husband I go in and ask if everything was okay with the reservation and he said he didn’t know because no one offered to help him, no one said we’ll be right with you, no one acknowledged his presence even though both the man and woman were sitting and the same exact computer having a conversation amongst themselves. They didn’t even acknowledge me as I walked in. Which is very unusual for this location. They’re always courteous and helpful. Another 15-20 minutes pass and as I’m looking in the window I see there are about 4-5 people now waiting behind my husband to be helped. It was a hot mess. I’ll be using this location again as we have always had a good experience. I hope this gets addressed and resolved because it was all together not pleasant and if it happens again we may just start using another location.

The entire staff at this Uhaul location is extremely rude. They always seem to have an excuse to be rude. They lie and say that that they don't know what they are doing because they are new or just having a bad day. They also use the excuse that they don't have enough staff. If these employees hate their job so much they need to go elsewhere. Us as customers have no need for this unnecessary attitude, rudeness and unprofessional staff. They need to go work in a prison so that they can behave like asses with the inmates there. We as customers are under timed pressure to move and unfortunately end up here in this chaotic location. This location is and has been for a long time staffed with ruthless staff. They need to be trained and held accountable for their rude attitudes. I will make sure to never ever recommend anyone to this location. What a shame that Uhaul being such a big company has this location here in Visalia, CA represent their name so bad. Extremely disgusted with this location.

I am still waiting for a phone call from U-Haul to rectify our issues with this rental location. We were charged $80 more than the online tot al for our trailer plus 4 additional days. It should have been $234.00 plus tax and we were charged $314.00 plus tax. When will someone make this right? The paperwork was completely screwed up today when we returned the trailer (a day early). The drop off location agent was speechless over the errors and inconsistencies we found in Visalia at the rental location. Ridiculous. Worst experience ever.

We were very happy with your Assistant Manager Dunken and Brian. We rented a cargo trailer and informed them that it would be for at least 4 but possibly 6 days and we were told we didn't have to worry we could extend the cargo trailer with no problem. On Day number 3 we took the trailer back and told them we wanted to close it out and re-rent it for a few more days but were told to just keep it. On day 7 we got a call at 1pm by the scheduler asking us to bring it back 7pm that day. We were 4 1/2 hours away in the SF Bay Area and were still loading the trailer. I called to get the trailer extended, told them we needed it a couple of more days and were willing to pay whatever, and I was told it had to be back by 7am since it was rented to another family. We hurried up and finished loading it at 2:30am, then drove it the 4 1/2 to Visalia to turn it in by 7am. The trailer was returned and paid in full. Later that day around 7pm my husband went to the storage unit and saw the trailer in the yard. You put my husband at risk and we didn't get to complete our move. We need to rent another cargo trailer but will be using another company. I have also been telling friends about our experience.

My overall experience with U-haul was extremely unprofessional from the process of me getting my vehicle hitched, reserving my trailer, and the pick-up/cancellation of my reservation. I tried to resolve the situation however, management was not of much help. I contacted the traffic manager Christine who was extremely rude, arguementive, and lacked customer service skills. Christine S had no desire to resolve the issue of her cancelling my reservation nor providing a compromise on the mishap she caused. Her compromise and suggestion was me to drive to two cities over to pick up one. I let her know it wasn't a suitable compromise, she stated "there is nothing she can do for me and next time I can respond to the text messages." I asked could I speak to her supervisor she stated " she was and that I can keep calling but I was only going to get her" Christine laughed as I asked once again for her superior boss and hung up. I ended up on the phone more than 2.5 hours as I upset and trying to get my situation situated. I finally was told Christine was the manager over my area and in order to address the situation I needed to talk with her. I was extremely frustrated at this point and indicated she had already hung up. To resolve the situation I had to file a formal complaint on the Transit manager then they reached out to inform her at this point I was at the location and one of the employees Demetrius offered and volunteered if they allowed him to drive and pick up the trailer. I felt Demetrius was more customer service oriented than management. He was very personable, and communicated once he returned with the trailer. I ended back at the location due to the lights not working correctly. Hector assisted me and was very helpful and properly inspected the trailer for my departure. Overall, I feel the two employees are very customer service oriented than the managers that oversees them. This location is understaffed and the new hires are not properly trained. This experience caused more stress to my move.

I went with my husband to get a motorcycle trailer. Had a reservation at 5pm. The lady employee started on it and left in the middle of it on break, then we had to wait for another employee to help us and that took forever. Well because she logged out it made it look like she cancelled our reservation because she never finished it. Finally a guy employee came to help. He had the nerve to tell my husband that he couldn't except my husbands drivers license because he said it didn't look like him. I was so upset. He kept saying it looked like his son. My husbands works in a high end industry that allows him for clearance into prisons and places where they search check you and a Uhaul wouldn't take his license because it didn't look like him. This is definitely one for the books for total stupidity. I was so upset that I had to come in and show my License and because I was wearing glasses I had to take them off and gad to start the process all over again. Finally he gave us a number and told is we had to locate the trailer and took it up ourselves. Yeah the whole process took 3 hours + awful experinace and will never go to this location again. Very unorganized and lost. A manager should always be on site for issues like this.
