Disappointment is an understatement: 1) Used online checkout - still stood in line for 30 minutes. 2) Water leaking from somewhere inside - damaged boxes. 3) Rented a hand truck - none present. 4) Asked for refund for said missing hand truck when turning the truck in - was told "I'll deal with that later." 5) And they didn't deal with it later - I was charged for it. 6) When I emailed an inquiry, I've so far (24 hours later) got radio silence, not even a "Thanks, we'll look into this." The impression I get with this location and U-haul in general is, you are understaffed and unconcerned with providing quality service. While waiting in line I observed staff bickering with each other multiple times--it was clearly a tense and unpleasant environment. Staff were pleasant with customers but they certainly didn't have any time to really help anyone.

They were very disorganized. Nobody checked the truck, they told me just leave the key in it we will check it in later... They allowed customers without masks in the store. Made me very uncomfortable.

Had bigger ball on. Guy looked and said nope too big and walked away while I was holding a 3 way with all sizes. Was an asshole and everyone except one person seemed to be pretty stoned (and I love weed and working but it's not for everyone). Trailer worked great. Little cable to that attaches helper spring was all funked up but little fix and she was good to go

The van smelled like someone had been smoking/vaping in it and there was a vape pen left on the seat. Addtionally as it was raining outside the inside storage part of the van was wet and got some of my boxes wet as well. This was not ideal. Additionally it would have been nice to have been told that I needed to refill the gas tank when I picked up the van. Instead I had to ask about it when I dropped off the van and was told of the fees then so had to make another trip out to fill it up to avoid them.

The downside to the location is if someone is dropping you off or picking you up, there is no parking lot, really for that. But the staff were great. For the vehicle itself, I think it needs new windshield wipers. Registered in AZ, it had a definite problem keeping up with the rain and road spray on I-5 and could present a problem for future renters.

Appreciated the safety check before we pulled out. Friendly staff. Upon return, it wasn't clear where we should park and what should happen when we arrived. Had to trudge from the drop off area into the office in pouring rain only to be told that we should go back out. Oh well. Overall, a good experience.

The truck's windshield was filthy on the inside. The touch surfaces may have been sanitized, but it was unclear. The truck reeked of some kind of cleaning agent, very perfumed, had to roll with the windows down and the heat on full.

The staff here is always on point, yet, easy-going and friendly. I have dealt with several of the guys and always leave in a great mood. Price? Is a little misleading. Corporate should do something about that.

Whoever helped us there ( I don't remember his name) but he was excellent. We were in a bind because our original location did not have the truck we reserved available at pickup. He made a new reservation at this location and directed us to go down there to pick it up.We had movers already scheduled. Luckily they (Jason and Jason Relocations who were also awesome) were able to flex their schedule. When we rushed down to thie Powell location to get the truck the guy that helped us said there was no truck there available and the previous UHaul location (a contracted business with UHaul) did not do the reservation correctly. Luckily they had a trailer we could use instead. This guy there at Powell location hooked it up for us and made it easy to get on our way. We really appreciate his great customer service and sense of urgency. Thanks

Note: there was a problem with the truck gas filler tube, we returned the truck and U-haul people fixed it immediately and got us back on the road. Your people took a negative event and turned it into a positive by doing the right thing!!!

The passenger and driver's seats had hair all over them. It looked like pet hair. They could have at least vacuumed out the seats and interior. It would also be nicer to have the vehicle parked a little further away from the others. It was a pain trying to even get into the driver's seat with the door only able to open halfway.

Location was fine. App reservations & pickup was not. Showed up to get truck, launch app, which remembers me, but when I go to the reservation I have to log back in with the password I don't remember because I thought the app knew me. Then it asks for a second contact number. Won't take my wife because it says she's already on the reservation. WHY COULDN'T THIS HAVE BEEN DONE ANY TIME IN THE PAST 3 WEEKS? So I have to chase this around w customer service on my move day. More frustrations followed, but that's the one I'll be using as an example of a bad customer experience.

Truck was dirty outside but ran excellent

The equipment was dirty and damaged. At least one of the employees was high. Another one went on a verbal tirade about the work that needed doing and the lack of support by the other employees. The employees tried to send me off with two unsatisfactory vehicles. The first had significant sidewall tire damage. The second had all the gas siphoned out of it (the gas cap was hanging off). I was never given a copy of the contract for the final vehicle. Terrible service, terrible equipment, terrible attitudes. I called the corporate number and never received a return call from the manager I was told to expect. I believe one of the employees used my credit card information to make a fraudulent purchase after the fact as a retaliation for complaining. (Two days after my encounters and complaints, an unauthorized charge appeared on my credit card. I will never use your company again and will warn away anyone I can! This location should be shut down immediately. Gross Incompetence!

The check out process was time consuming. There were some computer problems, but perhaps the process could be streamlined.

The beginning mileage on my contract was understated by 25 miles which would have cost me about$20 if I hadn't caught it. The U-HAUL employee blamed the previous user of the vehicle, but that doesn't make sense. U-HAUL checks the vehicles in, and keeps the record. I think it was U-HAUL trying to make more money from unsuspecting users. My advice: be sure to check the mileage before you leave the lot. The vehicle shifted erraticly. It shifted up then down on a level road when I was applying constant pressure on the gas pedal.

Horrible service but not from this location. I originally reserved a 15” truck to be picked up at 7am at a different location and when I arrived to the original location and I open the app for the contact less pickup it changed the location to a gas station not far, I went to the new location and when I got there the app said I could pick up the truck contact less and to call a contact number. When I call someone in Everett, WA answer saying for some reason it call the wrong location and then she transfer me to the right location and a lady answer which sounded like I woke her up and then she hung up on me. I went to the front door of the gas station which the door was locked and there was a lady inside and when I knock on the front door she looked at me and ignored me. I called again U-Haul and a different lady answer this time and said if I wanted the truck I reserved I needed to wait until 9am since unfortunately the employee forgot to leave the keys inside the truck. I couldn't wait until that time since I had arrange a moving company to be at my apartment at 8am. I had to change to a 10” truck which was at another different location and because I had to get a 10” since it was the only available I had to do multiple trips which ended in more miles being more expensive on renting a smaller truck!! This is not fair at all!! I would never ever recommend U-Haul to anyone I know!!

Person was on their phone for 5 minutes when I first walked in and I did not receive a call from the location confirming my equipment. Also they did not have a car carrier at the location that was guaranteed to be there. Avoid this location if at all possible.

Bill from the uhaul location at Foster Road was so helpful. He didn't have a truck for us, but was able to look one up in the system for us. We appreciate his help so much. The gentleman that rented to us at this location was very nice. He spoke loudly, which was appreciated since we had to "social distance" and stand behind plexy glass. He was very friendly.

Clean windshields. Check in is a hassle; we can provide our ID prior to pick up for easier processing. Tell us in advance to have a non mask picture for approval. Too much wasted time and energy.

for some reason when I put address into my gps to your location, it sent us to Gresham address, so I had to pay $14 extra for Lyft ride.. Also, upsetting that because we live in Multnomah county there are taxes to rent a car, I was planning to spend $50 less than what I spent

The person at the desk was wearing a mask which exposed not only his nose, but his upper lip. I should have realized when he said a truck that had just been returned was mine & I asked if it had been sanitized he said, "Let me check", then came back and said it would be ready within 5 minutes. The truck did not smell of sanitizer, but I needed to meet the movers so I left. Later my husband and I took videos & pictures of the dirt & grime on the dashboard (it's clear on his finger after running it over the dash). Then, when cleaning the truck out as per the instructions & $25 fee if not done, we found a receipt that was several days old under the seat. If this is U-Haul's idea of "sanitizing" then it certainly is not following any type of CDC recommendations. If someone will contact me about this I will be happy to share the video I took of the "cleaning" and also a photo of the receipt with a date much prior to our rental date. It is next to impossible to contact U-Haul by phone, so email is preferred. If I do not hear back within the week, I will post the video showing the outrageously dirty U-Haul to forewarn other potential customers of the risk of contamination. Please note that videos like this go viral and I am screen shotting my comments here to show proof I did contact U-Haul about the issue. The only good part were the movers who we ordered to unload the items into storage. They were professional and did a great job. JS

Everything was great - so easy and reliable and the vehicle was clean and check-out and check-in so quick. Only complaint - it was very disappointing that your quoting tool doesn't include the county tax. Nor did you warn about it in the reminder emails; it was a surprise when picking up the vehicle. I hope you can update your system, because it's no fun to find out that there are hidden fees.
