JOHN SIt was a horrible experience with the truck being filthy. I asked for another truck and it was dirty as well. The second truck the engine light was and would not turn off. I brought the truck back and the staff discussed how I requested 2 trucks amongst themselves as I was to accept the filthiness and a truck with the engine light on. Please clean and sanitize the trucks. It is flu season and COVID -19 is still active. Staff's interactions reflected inadequate customer service skills, and their demeanor was unprofessional.
CARLA CI have rented Uhauls for work for the past 4-5 months taking trips down to pennsylvania to pick up supplies and equipment and bring it back to Connecticut. Everyone has been great and very helfpul. Process is so easy to rent the vans. My only issue especially since I have rented a number of UHAUL vans in the last several months for this project is that I was charged a fee this last time to return van to another location in Orange instead of where i picked it up in New haven. I originally rented the van in Orange and at last minute got a call that they needed to swap my pick up to New Haven. I told them on the phone that I while i can get the van in new haven - that I would drop it off at the original place in Orange where i booked it. they said that was not a problem. however when i got the final bill yesterday there is a charge stating that I did not inform uhaul of this sooner. But I did.... And the last minute change to pick up at New haven was coordinated by Uhaul when they called me. I dont think it is fair that I got that additional charge.

MICHAEL ZThere's nothing wrong with the location itself. My estimated cost for the rental was $98 including the mileage. Upon returning the vehicle the charge jumped to over $200 + the gas i had to put into the van.

MICHAEL CI have used U haul for all my moves and this location they were courteous but the truck was very crappie. It struggled with maintaining speed on the highway in which I was only traveling 30 minutes away. It shut off numerous times while driving. The damage alone on the truck was ridiculous. The passenger side dent was bad enough the door was not closed fully and air was leaking in consistently. The worse truck I've received from this company

Joseph SI was charged a wrong drop off fee. When initially rentals the U-Haul the manager was not clear and did not communicate properly that it was a in town drop off as I requested a one way. She was not attentive as she was on a personal phone call. I called and made a complaint and have yet to hear a resolution to this problem. There needs to be a solution. When conducting business with a customer they should have your undivided attention and instructions should be communicated properly. She was distracted and now I have to deal with a problem of a wrong drop off fee. I hope to hear soon from corporate. I will be writing a review online soon. I would not recommend anyone to go to the whalley ave location. I recently went to the corporate location in New Haven in Wooster square, and the employee provided excellent service! What a difference. I had his undivided attention and he was very helpful.

SHEILA HWas ridiculous that my pickup got switched to this location unwillingly when I had placed my reservation with the Hamden location 9 months prior. The employee at Hamden pressured me into switching to this location without explaining anything at all. Was told the other location was 3 miles away which means nothing to me since I don’t know the area at all. When I asked for a slight discount at pickup the staff were rude and inconsiderate and said I made a “verbal agreement” with them which is very very untrue. Completely ridiculous experience and not easy at all.

VIRGINIA SI only drove my rental round trip to my garage I live in the 80"s section of Dixwell Ave new haven and my garage is on Sherman Ave Mt caramel hamden when you google the distance it's 6.5 miles let's just say 7miles ok round trip that's 14 miles per day for 4days you so the math that branch charged me for 98 miles smh

JOHN BI rented the cargo truck however, when I got into the truck the check oil message was on the dashboard, I went back to the guy and asked him if I was going to have a problem with the truck. He said, "No it just means the oil will have to be changed soon". His manner in which he spoke to me was as if I was bothering him. I did not like that! I was simply just asking a question because I did not want to have any problems with the truck. If I may suggest something it would be not to rent the trucks that need servicing soon because that is what the message was across the dashboard. Thank you. d
DEBRA PJust because of the customer service i would not recommend. Both the time i spoke to someone they were both rude, uneducated, and misguiding. When i asked for assistance that required higher authority i was told they dont have managers or supervisors at all. I find it hard to believe there is no highrr authory

Edward VI was attended to by a person with a very bad attitude, every time I requested a change, he responded very rudely, he kept telling me not to give him any problems, that he just wanted to do his job quickly, he didn't help me change my reservation, I had no option but Taking a car larger than I wanted was my mistake in the reservation, but anyone else with a better attitude could help me.
