I routinely had a hard time turning the key in the ignition. I had to wiggle the key up and down, in and out, and then turn the steering wheel to get the key to turn.

I asked the agent if the truck cabin was sanitized due to covid, he said yes but when I got in the cabin it was not, I brought my wipes and cleaned all the surfaces where very dusty. Other than that, everything else was good.

just a question on how the allotted mileage is calculated, you had my address address in Michigan, I had to drive 10 miles east to my lake house from the rental location then after loading the truck, drove west to my new home in Gurnee and and then back east to the drop off center in Gurnee and was charged extra mileage, I was charged extra mileage the last time I rented too, I am not taking these trucks on a joy ride, just the shortest way from point A to point B

As a Navy veteran I have used U-Haul more than a handful of times. This has been by far, the best customer service experience I've had. And most were good, I don't know if I dealt with the same CSR at pickup and drop-off, I sure could not tell the difference. Wonderful Job.

Tires were bald and unsafe. Slid on the pavement.. not good. Also, battery died and needed a jump start. Contacted u-haul but was on hold for 30 minutes. Found someone to jump start but was a hassle. Not a good experience at all. Have rented here before and no other problems but this one was terrible.

Clinton and Nathan were great and very friendly. I would recommend that Clinton should get to keep the bike he thoroughly enjoys riding to the back lot to hook up the trailer I rented at least four separate times. It was a pleasure doing business with both Clinton and Nathan.

I preferred 1 way truck 4 days in advance. The early morning We were scheduled to pick up @1 pm I received a call that we needed to bring back after use. We moved furniture to Linconshire location u-haul.That location personnel told us the storage space reserve was not available on the 1st floor .Only on the 2nd floor & No elevator! We finally negotiated space on the 1st floor. VERY frustrating all around !

After calling multiple times to ask if they would recycle boxes for us, (during normal hours) the call did not pick up. Having to work the following morning I needed to drop the truck off on Sunday. I tried returning the truck 30 minutes after closing using the online process. I had both a tow dolly and the truck, but the online version only thought I had the dolly and not the truck. So they charge me an extra $20 when it was a tech mistake, even when I called and try to get my money back. Lastly, they charge another $100 because we left a couple boxes in the truck even though we NEEDED to return the truck Sunday and all recycling centers are closed Sunday, with having no other way to transport the boxes without the truck & we had read online that U-Haul would recycle the boxes for free. The truck was totally clean other than the few boxes in the back. which would only take one minute to recycle the boxes, and that's worth paying $100 for? I tried calling and they wouldn't refund the money, not even the $20. What horrible customer service. Don't answer phone calls, over-charge, don't help with customer complaints. Make sure when you return the truck is it in PRISTINE condition with NOTHING inside or they will probably uncharge you.
