The location has no control over the road construction so I'm sure that will improve in time. The brand new facility was clean and in the process of getting organized and the staff was very helpful and nice. The only improvement I would suggest is to make the mobile checkout system less cumbersome.

After an initial software problem, everything went smooth. I think the computer software and hardware could use an upgrade. The guys who helped us did a great job.

I went in twice, once to get boxes and moving supplies and the 2nd time to pick up my truck. Both times the guys helping me were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I will rent here again if I need a truck.

the after hours return process was horrible. It took 1 hr 15 min to return the cargo on line. We could not get the link to locate our position. I called customer service and they could not help me either. A pop up box keep telling me that I did not have location setting allowing the link to locate my position. Another customer was dropping off their rental and they tried to help. My husband was finally able to get the link to work. I will not use UHaul if I have to drop after hours I will use another rental company. The service was great and the van was clean.I had no problem with the store.

General Manager Karl Kersten was outstanding!! This experience was absolutely painless - checked in and hitched the trailer quickly and with no drama; return was very quick getting in and out in about five minutes. Equipment was in great condition and exactly as advertised. WELL DONE to Karl and his team! I will definitely use this service again and pass along my experience to colleagues and friends.

There was no information available directing us where to leave the vehicle. Maybe we were supposed to drop it off in a certain place on the property or not, but who knows? We just left it.

Be a customer, experience your system. First for this location put some lights in the parking lot for the night. For U-Haul in general make sure that your phone system works and doesn't put your customer on an eternal Loop. I was on hold for 15 minutes then realized I was never going to get a human to answer. I had to call back twice this is after hours to get someone to load my order reservation on my account. In order to use your online checkout. Both of these things should never happen if you want good return business.

Introduce yourselves upon pickup and delivery. Ensure that your parking lot is well lit upon "direct evening returns whilst you're still open - don't make excuses to customers when it isn't acceptable. Gurnee, IL location: Carl WAS AWESOME; Anthony WAS EXTREMELY DEFICIENT in terms of customer service.

I've rented from Uhaul several times in the past year for moving, furniture pick up, and general online local buying of bulky items. Between this location and Waukegan Uhaul on Lewis, I have not had any major issues. However, on 10/12/2019, I went to the Waukegan Uhaul for an express checkout reservation that was completed. Waukegan's system was down for the 41 minutes I spent at the counter with several other patrons. The lady at the counter, I believe her name is Sylvia, was very polite and was trying multiple times to reach "Corporate" or whoever the next in charge was. No dice. I tried multiple times to change my reservation location to Gurnee online and the app. Both kept crashing on me. Called customer service, they were able to change my location to Gurnee. No problem. HOWEVER, I could not get the extend mile (100mile use) discount on the rental for my in-town which was originally $79. Instead, my total charge was $140 at a per mile of $1.19 (plus vehicle rate of 19.95) So, a Uhaul system failure resulted in the original total of $79 to a loss of that discount and a bump of nearly $60. Otherwise, the Gurnee location had me Keys in hand within less than 10 minutes of me walking inside. Awesome location, terrible corporate follow thru. Uhaul, hire some better IT and App Software development. All it takes is for Uber or Lyft to make a better app for franchisers that is cheaper than your franchise without converting a warehouse storage unit to orange themed displays.
