I used the call centre and they sent me to a facility that was considerably farther away than my local site. The reason was that the work that I needed done was not available at my local site. This call agent was completely wrong. The mechanic was available to do this work locally. Good thing the farther facility had great customer service or else I would have been extremely angry.John B.

we had problems with booking online and trying to move the pick up date one day early. On line we could not pick Oscar Car Sales in Cache Bay to return the trailer. It wanted me to return to a location in Field which was further away from my location. Clerk was very helpful and courteous and professional.Guy R.
After receiving a call that my trailer would be picked up in Gatineau, (I live in Ottawa) I made sure that I was able to drop it off in Ottawa. I specifically explained my situation and the supervisor behind the desk said it's no problem to drop it off in Ottawa. When I arrived to return it at the Coventry location, they said absolutely not and I'll be charged for it being returned. I told them to call the Gatineau location to verify and they said â€œno I'm not going to that. Next!â€ As they waived at the next person. Horrible establishment. The trailer lights were faulty. Had I not done light checks multiple times throughout the rental period I wouldn't have known. The little side lights lit up but the rear brake lights/signal lights had a faulty connection. Thankfully I carry zip ties in my vehicle and had to use one of those to play with the 4 wires leading to the trailer from the connection point in order to keep the lights on. Dangerous.Brenda B.

I reserved in person at this location 3 weeks before my pickup date. And was guaranteed a truck. The day of pickup my truck wasn't available!! I had to drive 70 kilometres to get another truck! It cost me 30$ in gas just to go get the truck. I didn't start using the truck for the move until 2 pm, therefore missing out on my window for having the elevator on service. Unless I get compensated for my troubles I will never rent again from U-Haul and will make sure no one I know does.mario L.
You’re employees are really good but you don’t have enough of them. I was unable to get someone via phone for 2 hrs, then when someone did answer, it was the call center who couldn’t get through to the facility to answer my question. Also, the line up time at facility was unacceptable to have only 2 people working. Lining up for 30 mins when you have a limited time block fir your move, just doesn’t work. Ultimately your lack of available service made my moving day stressful and difficult to a point where unless you hire more people, I wouldn’t want to use uhaul again. I also worry you’re being unfair to your employees. Time to use those profits to hire more people!Liz E. | Overall Experience

1)The front bumper lost the nut to hold it on... one side of the bumper came loss and was hanging down, hitting the ground as we drove! We had to keep stopping to re-insert the bolt with NO nut to keep it on. 2)It rained and water got inside the box.. front left corner, some moving things then got wet. Poorly maintained truck! I will always remember my short and heart-warming experience with the Gatineau U-Haul staff. From an early morning telephone call with Christopher, to my face to face interactions with Melanie and him, their customer service was unparalleled. They communicated with respect and provided exactly the storage space needed. The price was excellent and I drove off with a smile. I then returned same evening to cancel my contract, and they respectfully told me they do not refund such move-outs. However, the hilarious time I had was when they asked for the reason for cancellation. I told them my daughter said I was wasting money as she could provide the needed storage for me free, and insisted that I cancel the contract. A beautiful lady standing there looked at me, and picked her phone to explain to her boss as the system did not allow them. Then she said, "we have a lady here in the office that will like to cancel a contract she opened this morning......, I think her daughter things she's crazy to have opened a storage unit and she needs to cancel it to have peace." I laughed so hard and got up to hug her as she said exactly what was in my mind. Collectively, they resolved the problem and I drove off again with a smile. They should provide a usb adapter for long drive since there is no bluetooth, they have only 12 volts plugins. In case of emergency you need to be able to have a charged cell phone. Also they need to add at least hybrid vehicle to their fleet. It cost me over 400$ of gas for an eight hours trip with a 20' truck.Daniel L.

I want to take the time to explain my rating. The manager of the place on St Louis is wonderful, helpul. She takes the time to listen to the People and their needs and fix the problems. But ..their is big gestion problem higher in the compagny. It was a really stressfull moment with all of the problems that happen for our truck and our storage unit. Also i would like to send a formal complaint against an employé of that store. His name is Christopher. He was really rude, disrespectfull and didnt even want to call his supervisor to fix a situation. He shouldnt work with the public if he is not respectfull. He even said to us that it wasnt his problem if we were stupide enough to move into that storage , that should not be a value of your compagnie. I hope this man has big conséquences for what he did.
